Bought these for my 12 year old son who likes to dress nicely and is conscientious of his appearance they are great quality, great looking and a nicer pair of flip flops when putting on cargo shorts and a shirt. Would recommend.

For those expecting Hattori to be another barefoot-like shoe on par with VFF: You WILL be disappointed. While with its lightweight construction it may be classified as minimalist footwear, the Hattori is NOT really a barefoot (BF) shoe. The basis for this review is as a Running Trainer/Walking Shoe, and perhaps as a transition from traditional running shoes to more minimal BF shoes.
I have two pairs of the Hattori, with nearly 130 miles between them, and for longest runs of 7-8 miles. These are really good minimal cushioned shoes that fit the niche between traditional neutral cushioned trainers and BF shoes like Vibram Five Fingers (VFF).
The Hattori is similar to Nike Free 3.0 in weight, flexibility and cushioning-but with no heel-toe drop. They have a slightly tighter fit than NF with the slipper-like construction.
As a smaller framed middle-distance (5K/10K) fore/mid foot striker, this is becoming my favored trainer. They are light, responsive, yet comfortable for short to medium distances on road and trail that I have thrown at them (3-8 miles). My current inventory of running/hiking footwear also include VFF KSO , VFF KSO Treks, Merrill Tough Glove, Nike Free 3.0v2 and Saucony Kinvaras, all with issues for longer runs: The positive heel-toe drop of the Nike Free's bug my achilles, and with with Merrill & VFF I get a burn in the balls of my feet. The Hattori seems to solve both my problems, in that zero drop helps my achilles, and the cushioning eases the impact/burn issue of the VFF.
One negative that takes off a star: There seems to be a ¼ size variance between my 2 pairs (US size 8.5). To be fair this may be common in many models of shoes, but with the Hattori's slipper fit, the difference is pronounced.
In response to some of negatives from other reviews:
Sliding, Blistering: Like other trainers, varying adjustment of heel cup and upper straps, and and/or wearing coolmax or thin socks has solved the problem for me. I did have a transition period of a few runs to work out the adjustments and sock fit. This is one characteristic of the shoe that seems to align it to traditional shoe vs. BF shoe category.
Breathability: I find the breathability of Hattori to be on par with other trainers, regardless of whether or not I wear socks. As compared to BF-ware, I get more sweat build up in VFF Trek and Merrill Tough Glove than in the Hattori, likely because of closed leather uppers. VFF KSO and Sprint models win in this category hands-down.
Overall I am really happy with the Hattori as a basic lightweight trainer. I still like the BF experience of VFF and still supplement into my training program. While BF purists may not like the Hattori, it is a great transition shoe from heavier neutral cushioned trainers to more minimalist footwear like VFF. Or perhaps just a really good lightweight neutral trainer.
POSITIVE:
Excellent as daily trainer, including for longer distances (13mi+) on concrete.
EVA+, aided by the harder rubber under the ball of the foot, is turning out to be more durable than I anticipated: I estimate the Hattori have a 600mi lifespan on my feet
Saucony Hattori is faster in races compared to VFF Bikila LS due to more padding (esp. going fast on moderate/steep downhill) while still weighing less than the Bikila LS.
Upper is surprisingly more durable compared to Kinvara, perhaps it's the small strip of transparent plastic that keeps my big toe from piercing the mesh (NB I do trim my toe nails often)
NEGATIVE:
Can't wear without socks due to chafing, which I have no problem with in Bikila LS.
Feet can get rather hot in them on warm days
Racing chip or foot pod has to be attached to the back strap
Price: Less shoe should be less $$$
LC version looks and feels slightly roomier and better
Conclusion:
Some will argue that the Saucony Hattoris have too much padding for a minimalistic shoe, but shoes with little or almost no padding (e.g. VFF) in my experience result in slowing down on many non-concrete surfaces, steep downhill, ... which makes them less suited for racing and tempo runs.
I think the most important part of a minimalistic shoe are a zero heel-to-toe drop and being ultra light weight.
Like all minimalistic shoes, they will obviously not work for every minimalistic runner, but I would certainly advise to try out a pair esp. now the price is starting to drop.
This is a great start by Saucony in the minimalistic range, I hope there will be a Hattori 2.0
and i gotta tell you this are really good shoes i'm impressed.
but a HUGE recommendation, i hope you guys get this a lot so you can take in considerations to make,
is to make the Hattori shoes exactly how they are but the only difference of them to be fresher or well air ventilated
once you make them with well air ventilation, you guys would have an amazingly great shoes with no comparison to other shoes!!!!!
and also keep making them with awesome colors. Please bring back the green ones.

I started running on the five fingers and loved them, but I do a lot of trail running so I started looking for a show with a thicker sole but still maintaining the minimalist feel. I found these on line and loved them! I have put about 200 miles on them and no issues they are the best shoe I have run with. The have a good free feeling to them and they are very light on my feet. I am personally not picky about whether or not they are snug like the five fingers I like that they feel like wearing a slipper. I am usually a 9.5 and that is what I purchased and I had no issues with the sizing they fit very nicely.Honest reviews on Saucony Men's Hattori Running Shoe
This has got to be the lightest shoe ever made. It's like running barefoot. I like the shoe's design, perfect fit, ease while running and the muscle strength gained through the Saucony Hattori. I don't like it when people leave reviews that they "read somewhere else" and never even ran in these shoes. Therefore, the rating is tainted by those copy-cats. I give 5 Stars to this shoe!Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Saucony Men's Hattori Running Shoe

This pair of sneakers are great for walking on a paved surface and also for long driving. Not a recommended pair of footwear on a rainy day though, and I tried using it for a cardio workout the sole is thin, not enough cushioning. Otherwise, it's a retro-cool looking fashion footwear.
-Very comfortable
-Well made no construction or durability issues after 6 months
-Great support I mostly use them for casual wear, but have also used them to run and bike
-CHEAP seriously, these shoes occupy a great spot in my footwear collection and cost a fraction of what most good shoes cost

This will be my second pair. Purchased these as drum shoes, they also make a great driving shoe. Super light, more like a sprinter's track flat. Great surface to foot transmission, soles are somewhat flat and they don't track much dirt. I know I'll purchase another pair just for driving.Best Deals on Saucony Originals Men's Bullet Running Shoe
Great Shoe. But anyone want to wear these shoes as your sneakers or long walking shoes, should order one size larger. I usually wear size 8 to 8.5. These shoes I ordered are size 9 but more like a tight-fitted size 8(both in length and width). Hope this would help you.Honest reviews on Saucony Originals Men's Bullet Running Shoe

I've had probably 8 or more pairs of these shoues over there years and I always have worn 9.5. So naturually I got the 9.5 size when I purchased these. I was surprised to find that they ended up being too smalll for me, so I had to send my pair back and get the size 10s. High markets for the comfort and style of these.Reviews of adidas Originals Women's Samoa Retro Sneaker

I have a pair of Techamphibian water shoes that I purchased several years ago. I wanted to replace them but what came, although the same style, was much stiffer and too large. Whereas my first pair were very comfortable I did not like theses new shoes at all. The return process , however was very satisfactory and certainly has not deterred me from further orders.
Also, the sizing problems were right from the online community. It's too large. We measured my wife's feet and took the relevant size. Even then, it was way too big.
Shoes have existed for so long, and so many other retailers can get it right... Why not a good show maker like salomon????

Buy Spenco 4404000 Adult's Arch Cushions Full Length

I have used these Spenco Arch Cushions for many years and love, love, love them! For the people who seem confused; there are several different versions of these. Full length, 3/4 length, arch CUSHION, arch SUPPORT, etc. These are the full-length arch cushions; which are a piece of flat thicker, firm, dense fabric-on-top foam with a very thick, firm, rounded foam arch cushion glued to the bottom. The arch supports have a hard plastic or very firm foam molded full or partial foot bed. These do not. These provide moderate arch support and great cushioning in your arch and whole foot. They also provide insulation from the cold ground or hot concrete. I use these in almost all of my shoes, boots and even my slippers. Occasionally, my dressier heels or flats will be too snug for these, so I will use a pair of the 3/4-length version instead. I sometimes will buy my shoes a half size bigger to accommodate these, as it is easy to do and so very worth it! I put these right in my shoes, on top of the existing foot bed or insole. Currently, I have at least a dozen pairs of these and some are more than 10 years old. (Got tired of taking them in and out of my different shoes.) I have worn them from early morning to late at night, washed and dried them in the dryer many times, gotten them wet while hiking in the rain, snow and mud (and kept going). Just recently, my 10+ year old pair is starting to come a little unglued by the arch cushion, but is still useable! These can easily be cut with a scissors to better fit the shape of your shoe, if you like. They are generously sized. They don't deteriorate or compress over time, like others I've tried. And they don't fall apart. I have arthritic feet, severe bunions and a severely bad back which makes it hard to walk and function. But with these insoles, I can. I honestly don't know what I'd do without them. I've tried many other brands including custom made orthotics, but for me, these are the very best! My spouse likes them too. Worth every penny!

I have been wearing Spenco Arch Cushions for literally 20 years, ever since a doctor recommended them to me as a child for chondromalacia patella (soreness behind the kneecaps). I put them in all of my athletic shoes, although they're too thick for most dressier shoes, I find. (The 3/4 length would work better for those.) Spenco Arch Cushions not only give my arches comfortable, soft support, but they prevent knee and back pain. My doctor says the arch cushions prevent my feet from overpronating (rolling inward), although I know many people with high arches have the opposite problem. Spenco makes a product so durable that if you wash the insoles from time to time, they'll last you for years! The foam is incredibly high-quality and dense, so it doesn't collapse like cheaper versions. Use them in good health!Best Deals on Spenco 4404000 Adult's Arch Cushions Full Length
I bought these for my dad who was having knee problems because he walks 8 miles a day. He says that after the first couple of days of use he doesn't notice them anymore. Recently i broke my toes and injure the foot bed, started to step funny to protect the toes. I had the hardest time to wear any shoes. Found Spenco inserts on Amazon, they were not so cheap but nicely made. I was so happy when i received, removed the inserts of my sneakers, and put these instead. Immediately felt the difference, they felt like i was wearing pillows under my feet, also gave support where my arches needed making my feet comfortable, the pressure of stepping eased. Before i know, i was stepping normal again. 5 months later, my foot healed now, but i left these cushions inside of my sneakers, they are great for walking around town, or in the park. They are so thick pillowie, help with the shock absorbance. I highly recommend them.Discount Nike Zoom Elite+ Womens Running Shoes 487973-615

I sometimes have trouble finding light, comfortable running shoes that are reasonably priced and not designed for kids (bright colors, lightning bolts, see-through cushion bubbles, etc.). So I've worn 497's for years. This is the replacement model, and although New Balance has updated them somewhat, they still have the toned-down styling I like. Most of all, they are well made and they still make my feet feel very good.

I was having some knee and toe pain when running, but when I replaced the running shoes I was wearing with these, the pain in both places disappeared. This shoe gives excellent padding and support for longer runs. Best of all, it is one of New Balance's Made in the USA models. While it is actually cheaper than many of their shoes produced elsewhere, this shoe would be worth extra money to ensure fair wages and safe working conditions, as well as supporting local economies and domestic jobs. If you have the choice, even if they're a few extra dollars (which right now they aren't!), please buy this excellent shoe and keep local economies functioning. If the consumer demand is there, if we're willing to spend a few extra dollars to support proper working conditions and local economies, maybe we can convince more businesses to move their facilities back to the USA.Best Deals on New Balance Men's M498 Heritage Classic Sneaker

I bought these for Crossfit workouts and as a replacement to the first version of these shoes which I totally love. The low score is due to the following: First, it appears to me that NB has enlarged this shoe so that you might need to size down if you are fitted for the first version this makes it difficult to purchase online, if the replacement changes so much then it will cause unnecessary returns. Two, there is a removable insert which will come out when you remove your foot from the shoe I suppose it would be helpful to remove when you might want to throw them in the wash, but I think it is more of a nuisance. Three, there is plastic or vinyl like bar positioned above your large toe and when your toe flexes it may rub excessively. In my case, it left me with a nasty blister which took awhile to heal.
I would give out one star but perhaps it is just my own foot just be careful when sizing and be prepared to return if your usual New Balance Minimus sizing does not fit right and it really must fit right for these shoes to be effective.
Update: 5/28/2013:
I've now had these a full week. I've used them for 6 cross-training sessions (Camp Gladiator) and one 6 mile run which was mostly on pavement with some short bouts running on grass. The shoes are really light, and on occasion you can feel the air pass through the shoes. Even on my 6th cross training session with them when I do full burpees on cement, the tread still seems slippery as if they are still brand new. When I did encounter some puddles during my run, the water seemed to disperse along the sides of the soles which I liked. It is a very light, and stylish shoe, and has a good feel my feet. I am happy I purchased these, I think you will be too.
On top of that they have terrible traction on wet tarmac (Parking lots, tracks and such)
The shoes are extremely light and they are a fantastic concept.
Addendum:
I've been wearing these #Newbalance #Minimus shoes for 4 weeks now. It has taken me this long to decide that I like them because, the first week I had them, they were so tight at the toes that they literally caused my feet to bleed. However after weeks of continuous wear, I can finally say that they are not too shabby after breaking them in. Minimus shoes are extremely light weight, and well padded at the heel and arch despite appearing and feeling to the contrary. They are running/performance shoes, not walking/everyday shoes and they will remind you of that fact as soon as you forget.

I recently upgraded to a pair of the MX20v2s after wearing out an old pair of MT100s. I primarily use these for weightlifting, and they are a significant improvement in that role. The MT100s have a fairly compressible sole, while these are are much stiffer and, therefore, a much more solid platform for lifting. The fit is snug, but not overly so, and I find that these comfortably accomodate both lightweight socks and sockless wear. Finally, these are very light and well-ventilated. They're by far the best pair of training shoes I've found to date!Best Deals on New Balance Men's MX20 Minimus Cross-Training Shoe
I received this the day the delivery was promised. There were no issues with the packaging or the delivery. My first impression of these SUPER LIGHT. I picked up the package (knowing what it was) and me and my wife both commented how surprisingly light these cross-trainers are. I wanted to wear them prior to using them in "action" but I wasn't able to. I put them on the night before and the following day I wore them in a Camp Gladiator workout. The night before I did wear them a few minutes, take them off and then bend at the forefoot and twist them side to side to break them in a bit. I used them for a 60 minute session doing jumping jacks, cherry pickers, mountain climbers, etc. and I had no issues with them. The soles felt a bit slippery but I am sure that is because they are brand new. I have worn size 11.5 but I ordered these in a 12. They are slightly bigger, so after I've used them for awhile I will try to give a follow-up update. The profile is real low (especially near the ankle area). To me the flat design reminds me of the Adidas Gazelle (I believe these are soccer shoes). I did feel a hot spot on the ball of my right toe, but I did not get any blisters.Update: 5/28/2013:

Good shoes but are just a little small. Also, they are slippery so be careful in the rain. Other than that, they seem great
Please note that these are the "winterized" versions and do not breathe as well as their trail counterparts. The material is a bit thicker and does not break in immediately like the others.
I strongly recommend wetting them and walking around the house first. Once they're about dry, the material should be a bit softer and your feet will thank you for it.
I've never had a problem as they keep my feet level as I move. I wear down the outside edge of spring/cushion soles which puts a twist on my ankles. I can wear all day w/o a problem.
