The shoes are really comfortable and great for wide feet. However, the spiky pieces on the tread keep coming off. I bought these in November and about 1/3 of the pieces have already fallen off!

I have been running in Mizunos for years, but this is my first pair of minimalist shoes. I recently began training for a half marathon and I decided to make the transition to minimalist footwear due to it's increasing popularity and good reviews. After running in these shoes I am a believer! They feel great and have improved my running posture. I find myself wearing them even when I am nont running just because they are so comfortable. I haven't seen an improvement in my time yet, but it has not decreased so no problem there. Overall, I am very happy with these shoes.

Well-padded and well-made just too wide for my narrow foot and I would have needed a whole size larger. If you are a size 10 order an 11. The colors and fabric are beautiful. Lightweight, too

This is my second pair of Mizuno shoes, I love these shoes and they fit true to size. I have recently started running, the way these shoes fit has inspired me to continue and a run to my workout routine for additional cardio

Highly recommend

Honest reviews on Mizuno Women's Wave EVO Levitas Running Shoe

I really like the way these feel, but there is a spot on the left one that rubs terribly on the top of my toe that after a very short time of wear I had a blister. And the right one has a spot on the back that rubs against the back of my heel again, blister. I am wearing them with socks now to try to break them in more, and I hope I'm able to because I want to love them.

I bought two pairs of these. One pair red and black and one pair yellow and black. I have tried many shoes for Crossfit and these seem to be what works for my 200lb frame. These shoes are super light, I believe 7oz and they give great support. I love minimalist shoes for their light weight but some of the most popular ones for Crossfit don't give me a wide enough heel for support when jumping etc. The Reebok YourFlex had everything I was looking for, heel support, light weight, and super flexible like most minimalist shoes. I have done numerous Crossfit WODs in them and I am very satisfied. At first I was worried that lifting might be an issue but after several heavy WODs I was sold. Even though they provide ample cushioning for running they are very stable when lifting.

The only thing the shoes need is:

A) That little loop sewn on the tongue your laces go through to keep the tongue straight.

B) Higher Quality laces like the ones by "10-Seconds®"

Update: 9/5/2012

Since I have used these for Crossfit the whole time I have only one complaint. Short Sprints are sluggish due to the soft flexible sole. Seems squishy. Great for long runs, but bad for sprinting. Same deal with the Nike Free.

Gonna try the NANO 2.0 next.

Bought these for my son who had VERY wide feet. He is not a sneaker guy, but he needed to have a pair for activities. He really loves them & reaches for them all the time. He's begun to prefer them over his beloved flip flops. That sure says a lot for the shoe.

Honest reviews on Reebok Men's YourFlex Run Running Shoe

These are some great running shoes. Comfortable, light, and the soles aren't too thick. I got the yellow ones so sometimes people bring up how brightly colored my shoes are and ask me why "I put tennis balls on my feet". This leads to new friends and good conversation. 5 out of 5, would buy again.

I usually wear Mizuno Wave Riders, which are more supportive, but these are lighter, have a smaller heel to toe drop and also a wider toe box. (They allowed me to run with a broken pinky toe without discomfort). They have become my new favorite running shoe. They are also very breathable. Order up a full size; they run small.

I can't really rate a shoe that doesn't fit. I've worn Mizuno Wave Creations for years and a size 9.5 fits perfect...however, the Wave Ronin, 9.5 are huge on me. I'm not sure if it's fluke or if there is a difference in sizes between running shoes.

These shoes are very light and keep my feet warm and dry. I rode for over two hours in temperatures below 32 degrees and my feet stayed warm. I also rode in a heavy rain, sleet and snow shower for over an hour and again my feet were warm and dry. These shoes work for me!

I have been riding for several years and winter riding has always been a challenge. But after trying unsuccessfully to get a pair of shoe covers to transform my summer shoes into winter shoes and never finding more that flimsy toe covers in my size, I broke down and ordered these. What a difference! I suffer from poor circulation in my feet anyway so these are just fantastic. Only my first ride today but they worked so well I wanted to get the review in right away for others who are looking for warm feet on winter rides. I've had my other pair of Shimano shoes for years and they are still very comfortable and holding up nicely.

Best Deals on Shimano SH-MW81 Shoes

Took my first ride yesterday on Long Island with the tempature at 28 with a wnw wind of 15, wind chill in teens. Rode for two hours and feet did not get cold. A first for the contitions. Like the shoe very much. Takes awhile to get used putting on.

Honest reviews on Shimano SH-MW81 Shoes

Half-way through winter it had come to the point where I was using three layers of booties on my summer shoes to try to keep warm. When it was getting to single digits I went for two layers of socks, and that was the final straw to admit failure. The compression from the booties and the extra socks only served to lower the insulating qualities of my setup by squashing the hell out of my foot. And we all know air is needed for insulation to be effective. So I knew I had to, at the very least get another shoe a size larger, if not step up to an expensive winter shoe.

Then I stumbled on this and from the reviews it looked like the answer to my prayers. After a month of use it has proven to be a bit of a hit and miss. Kinda like the hot girlfriend who annoys and exasperates the hell out of you. You wanna love her, but so many things make you shake your head in frustration. Okay, back to the shoe.....

I normally wear a 45EU in Shimano, so I went for the 46 thinking I'd have extra room for thicker, or another sock to add to the DeFeet Blazes that are my winter standard. It seems like only a half size bigger, so it's either an extra thin cotton crew over the Blazes, or thick winter boot socks by themselves. This'll take me to the low 30's without the need for a booty. When it's into the 20's, it's time for the Pearl Izumi Elite Barrier Mtb Shoe Cover (expensive at the moment, look in the off season) to come out. Now I can ride into single digits for about an hour before discomfort becomes a major factor. Since my commute is only 5 to 7mi, it hasn't been a problem.

Things I think are great about the shoe is the rubber lugs on the bottom have good traction and protect your cleats well. Plus the lugs at the very tip of the shoe are perfect for holding the loop that's at the front end of the previously mentioned P.I. shoe covers. Now I'm only walking on the shoe, not a cover that'll wear out faster, or cause me to fall on my keyster at an intersection for the entertainment of my motoring adversaries. And the shoe is insulated, so now even the bottom of my foot is protected, whereas before all the layers in the world did nothing to keep the cold on my sole at bay.

Now for the not-so-good. The rubber cuff that extends up your ankle for water-proofness (to be fair, it's labeled as "resistant") was designed by someone who can't possibly be a cyclist. As you can see from the picture, the back of the "Hi Top" portion is cut lower than the front. HUH??? Um, it's 30 degrees out, and I'm pedaling furiously to make a light, the last thing I want is my tights coming out from the rubber that's supposed to be holding back the elements. Because it's cut so low, the accumulation of many pedal strokes and the articulation that your ankle's doing with every go 'round, your tights will work free. I even pulled them below my ankle bone, thinking that if I pulled the velcro closure extra tightly (which is problematic as it's pretty stiff leather and doesn't really conform to your ankle) that I'd be able to keep this from happening. Nope. Fail. Trudging through waist-high drifts as they describe? Yea, good luck with that.

There went one star, and combined with the cost (now I see it's 30 bucks cheaper, damn those algorithms!) I had to take another away.

So, love the shoe with the cover, alone, not so much.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Shimano SH-MW81 Shoes

The shoes work well but make sure you order a few sizes larger than normal. I have other Shimano shoes that are size 46 so I ordered these in a 47, hoping for some extra room for thicker socks. What I got was a shoe that seemed 1/2 size too small. I can wear them but it's pretty uncomfortable. They work well but will be going back for an even larger size.

This is the newest version of Dr. Scholl's "Extra Support" insoles. The old ones were dark green, and did not have the gel this new version has a massaging gel portion in the heel. That is the main difference.

I've been using these for around a year now (not the same pair, multiple pairs).

Pros

Good heel cushion, and good "cupping" of the heel.

Decent support. Easily better than many other insoles, especially those in a lower price bracket.

Cons

Not enough forefoot cushion! The forefoot will wear out LONG before the heel does. Why don't they put a gel forefoot as well? This insole would be fantastic!

Price, especially when compared to how long the insole will last you.

Overall, it's not a bad insole. You could do MUCH worse. However, the cushioning in the forefoot is a huge complaint. These are designed for "bigger men"... so why ignore the forefoot by only offering the signature gel cushioning in the heel? Give us the full treatment for our money!

Take a look at what Sof Sole has to offer. The Sof Sole Athlete Insole is a better choice, you can actually see that there's a gel cushion especially for the forefoot. I liked these better, and they're not too much more expensive than these Dr. Scholl's. I have found that Sof Sole makes an insert called "Airr" (with two "R's") which don't seem to be available on Amazon. They're more expensive, but the forefoot gel is even larger than on the "Athlete" and they are the best I've tried so far.

Just be careful when you choose these insoles, experimenting can get expensive very quickly.

An ex-football player past his prime (6'3", 360 lbs, size 13D, medium arch), I was recently diagnosed with plantar fasciitis. My orthopod recommended daily stretching exercises and Orthoheel slippers to wear indoors (no more walking around in socks). What a difference! The slippers and exercises lessened my symptoms from the start and, over time, eliminated most of my discomfort, so I decided to find some orthotic inserts to improve my street shoes.

So far, I've tested:

1. Dr. Scholl's Massaging Gel Extra Support

2. Aetrex Copper Medium Arch

3. Spenco Polysorb Total Support

4. Superfeet Copper DMP

5. Powerstep Pinnacle

each for two hours' total walking time over a few days in two pairs of my favorite shoes: New Balance 606 hikers and Cole Haan loafers with Nike Air.

I was naturally curious about Dr. Scholl's Massaging Gel Extra Support, advertised for big & tall men. They didn't do much for me. While the extra cushioning helped at first, it helped less and less the longer I walked on them. I mentioned this to my orthopod and he told me the key to managing PF is not cushioning, it's support. Grade: D

Next I tried the Spenco Polysorb Total Support. Remembering my doc's advice, I chose these for the rigid heel cup and arch support. Though quite comfortable overall, the arch support was a bit too low for my medium-high arches and the heel cup was insufficient support for weight. While they worked reasonably well for me, I believe they would a be better choice for lighter individuals with lower arches. Grade: B

I chose Aetrex Copper Medium Arch to get better arch support. After wearing these in both pairs of shoes for a while, I could hardly tell a difference from the Spenco insoles. Eventually, I popped one of the insoles out and swapped it for the Spenco and walked around the block. Only by walking on one of each could I tell them apart. I found the Spenco offered a little better support for the midand fore-parts of my foot while the Aetrex offered a little better support for my arch. Grade: B

Coincidentally, I was in an Allen Edmonds store and noticed Superfeet insoles. I asked the clerk about them and she raved how many men my size have good success with them. I tried the Orange and the Copper DMP versions in the store. Finding the Orange too high for my arches, I later ordered a pair of the Superfeet Copper DMP. These are easily the most rigid of the insoles I've tried...and easily the best. Superfeet arch support sits farther back on the insole than other brands. This made a real difference in the support I felt walking long distances. I also found the medial post support in the heel did a better job than other insoles in combatting overpronation. Grade: A

Most recently, I tried the Powerstep Pinnacle insole. While it seems well-made and offered good support, it simply did not work for me. The gel-based arch support sits too far forward and in the middle of the insole. The insoles felt like I had lumps of soft clay underfoot. After a few blocks of brisk walking, my feet began to fatigue as if I were walking barefoot in sand. Again, these may work for some people but they didn't for me. Grade: C

I used these inserts for my issued uniform boots and they are amazing! I went through 4 weeks of training under pretty rough conditions and these things held up amazingly! I never had any football problems, even after being on my feet all day for a month in the same pair of boots. They offer great cushion and support on all types of surfaces and while marching, walking, and running. If you're a big guy and have trouble with your shoes, I would definitely suggest looking into using these inserts. They are well worth the money spent and I use them in all of my boots.

Honest reviews on Dr. Scholl's Massaging Gel Extra Support Insoles (Men's Size 8

These things are comfortable but you have to have the right shoes to put them in. You need room. In the wrong shoe they make your foot really tight in the shoe. However they do what they are supposed to. Cut them a size bigger than your foot size and they fit perfectly in the shoe.

I have been using this product for about a week now, and I have to admit when I read some of the reviews, I was sort of skeptical that these insoles would work for me. Prior to their use, I was having severe pain in my feet from walking all day on worn out insoles which had no support to begin with. I can now say with great confidence that they are actually pretty incredible.

At work, I wear size 10.5 Wide Thoroughgood boots, and am on my feet for up to 16 hours a day. These insoles fit PERFECTLY after being trimmed just a little bit in the front. I did not have the issues others mentioned about them being too wide for my boot since I do indeed wear a wide. The plastic Arch Guard peices are my favourite part of these, as thats where my feet hurt the most. The pain is now gone, and I will be back for more when these get worn out!

The only bit of improvement I might have to offer on these at all is that there is no gel in the frot of the insole, which I know other reviews have mentioned. I am still giving these 5 stars though because they did exactly what they said they would do. Great purchase!

I like the casual feel with no straps or ties. I measured at a 41 size but already have a pair of KSO Tech in that size and they are a little tight on some toes. So, I gave the 42 a try. Perfect!!! I have now purchased 3 more ( 2 red and another gray) to be sure I have what I like, when they quit making this style. I've used them to workout and to run errands. Good all around type of shoe. Especially since I can no longer wear shoes with heals. They make me feel like I'm in elevator shoes. I only have five fingers and Merrell barefoot shoes now.

Got these from Pipeline24 thru Amazon. Great, speedy, free, delivery.

I'm a large-ish guy with really wide feet, and finding decent walking shoes has been a struggle. A few years of weekly 8+ mile walks has given me ample opportunity to try out different shoes in search of the best for walking long distances on hard surfaces, and these shoes are surprisingly my favorite. For reference, I've put about 100 city/concrete miles on them and about 50 hiking/rocky miles in the last few months.

In the past, I had found that having an overly-wide toe box helped prevent a lot of the blisters I was getting from my "normal-width" shoes, mostly on the balls of my feet, sometimes the heels. I've gone through multiple New Balance and Nikes (in sizes as wide as they come), as well as these extremely wide $5 Velcro shoes from Walmart with Superfeet Green Premium Insoles shunted in. I've tried cutting out the tongues of my shoes and lacing only the top half of the eyelets to relieve pressure around my toes as they swell during a long trek. I even put about 100 city miles on cheap $3 drug store sandals one summer. All of them had their issues, some minor like the occasional rub spot, some more serious causing hip, leg, and back pain or leaving me with terribly abraded feet after a 6 mile outing. All either got walked in 'til they disintegrated or got thrown away quickly.

When my last pair of walking shoes started turning my pinky toes into fat little blisters, I struck out to find my next walkers. I tried on about a dozen traditional-style running shoes, minimal running shoes, walking shoes and sandals before trying on any "finger" style shoes, but ended up putting these on and loving them. They literally fit like a glove, they let your toes spread wide apart, and they don't have a lot else going on to get in your way. Walking down the concrete hallway at REI, it felt as if I'd built up a solid callus on the bottom of my feet and set out for a barefoot walk. In comparison, I tried on 3 other more expensive FiveFinger Vibrams, and found the tread to be too obtrusive for walking on hard, flat ground. I could feel every raised nub they placed on the sole, presumably for extra traction. The EL-X have an almost uniform, flat tread on the bottom, providing a uniform feel for the ground across the foot.

So I bought them and started walking in them. My calves stopped crying the night after that first walk, and afterwards, learning to walk in them came almost automatically. I didn't have to think about good walking form, so much as observe it happen. It turns out you can't heel-strike your way down the sidewalk very far before your gait changes on its own and you start to strike the ground much more lightly, closer to the ball of your foot, to catch and cushion your landing at every step instead of jamming your foot into the ground as one normally does. One night after a mile in these shoes, I found myself patting along the sidewalk with great posture, taking much faster, smaller steps than is normal for me. And walking felt more effortless. I had to ask my wife if I was walking slower than usual because I really couldn't judge (it turns out I walk faster than I used to now). Learning to walk with them has been an interesting experience, to say the least.

I also decided to try them out hiking, and they did amazingly well. I had great traction the whole time, and as you can feel the rocks you step on, I was careful by default and had no issues smashing my toes or stumbling (as I often do in my hiking boots). Scrambling up a steep hill covered in pebbles was no problem. I even ran a few of them.

Fast forward to today: I still think these finger shoes look silly, but I've never had a better walking shoe, as far as overall physical health / lack of injury is concerned. Learning to walk in them may take you some time, and building up the foot and leg muscles may take a few weeks, but I absolutely think it's worth it if you're anything like me.

"Normal" shoes, and even my great Keen hiking boots which have served me well, are pretty much done for me. I hope Vibram never goes out of business or changes their "recipe" too much, because they have a customer for life.

Make sure you cross-reference your shoe size with multiple sources before you buy. I bought the wrong size at first and had to exchange. As you see I have still given five stars, because even though I had to exchange for the right size. Everything was handled quickly and easily. After getting my Vibram shoes I have quickly found them to be the most comfortable I own. I recommend them to anyone.

Honest reviews on VIBRAM Fivefingers Men's EL-X Running Shoes

I purchased these shoes mainly for wearing while boating. The soles are thin but seems durable and made of material that I can't feel any pain from tiny stones etc.. While a little snug and a bit of an experience to get your toes to cooperate past the seperation anxiety once you wear them for awhile you kinda forget you have any shoes on at all. The slip performance on the boat is very good so far and the fabric dries really quick so I don't have to worry about spending the day on the boat in damp shoes. The only drawback is that they are made in China, for those of us that care about this.

I've always worn Asics since high school track days. For the last decade or so it's been pretty consistent GT series shoes. Over the last 18~24 months I've been trying to branch out and try new things. This was my latest experiment. First off, this is nothing like the GT series or Kayano. This shoe is very light and has very little cushon. This is a shoe for racing (or for people who are very good runners who want a minimalist-type shoe). After training and racing in it, here are my thoughts: Training I use this shoe for my shorter, faster training sessions (4 miles and under and/or track workouts). Racing I recently used this shoe for an Olympic-distance triathlon (10k run). The shoe comes laced with traditional laces but included are elastic "speed laces" which I used. The shoe is designed to be used without socks, having said that I have gone with/without socks and had no problem. It also has "drainage holes" in the bottom which seems to be the trend now with triathlon-specific shoes. These are by far the lightest shoes I own and I can feel it when running. There is a trade-off of course, speed vs cushion. The 10k was the limit for me, no longer than that in these shoes, I could start to feel the stress/fatigue in my lower legs at the end of the race. On the plus side you WILL feel faster. The shoes went on fast (no socks) and didn't cause me any foot discomfort (blisters etc) at all. These shoes are not for everyone so know what you're getting into. These are fast, light, racing shoes. I give 5 stars becuase they do what they are supposed to do and do it well with a little flair too...

Great tri/running shoe. Only complaint I have is I wish that the tongue was part of the upper. Separate tongue and upper takes about 1-2 seconds longer to put on. Great flex, moderate cushioning. I love the color scheme. Definitely an attention getter. I have been doing my tris in the pearl izumi isotransition but this one has a slightly lower drop at around 6-7 mm Both have the drain holes in the sole which I like for tris but running outside on wet days gets kid of annoying because water ran come up through the bottom, but they do keep your foot cooler on hot days. Totally worth the trade-off in my opinion.

My daughter wears these a ton! The only drawback is that they get stinky and are kind of hard to clean. I have found that soaking them overnight in either sudsy water (dawn) or vinegar work the best. She says they are comfortable for school or playing outside, has taken to having them in her pack in case they play football at school during recess, etc. She really loves them. I found the size to run true, not big or small.

I bought my boys each a pair of these skeletoes in April. By May they had fallen apart. There are holes in the toes and the laces have broken. So I paid $40 for a pair of shoes that lasted less than 2 months. Don't buy these! The materials are so cheap and inappropriate for shoes that it's inexcusable.

Best Deals on Fila Kid's Skele-Toes EZ Slide Shoe (Little Kid/Big Kid)

I bought these for my son who thought they looked really cool. The idea was to use them primarily as water shoes for swimming, etc. and also casual as needed. They turned out to be extremely uncomfortable in the achiles/ankle area. Tried using bandages and other adhesives, but none adhered to the material long enough to alleviate all day use or even a few hours. We ended up using only when he was in the pool, otherwise too uncomfortable. It's a bummer because the concept is great, and the shoes were really expensive, but not worth it.

Honest reviews on Fila Kid's Skele-Toes EZ Slide Shoe (Little Kid/Big Kid)

I bought these for my 6 yr old since his older brother has the more expensive type and loves them. They fit great and he loves them. The only problem and the BIGGEST problem is that Wow do these shoes smell. He has never had stinky feet before, but these not only smell and I am having a tough time getting rid of the smell, but since they have no anti bacterial lining, they have given him some kind of fungus on his feet and now we have to deal with getting rid of stinky feet with all of his shoes. Amazing what one bad purchase can do. I won't buy the cheap version of these again. If you really want these type of shoes, REI sells the kind that don't smell.

i'm probably an 8.5 wide, but I usually wear a 9 m. These have more room in the toe box than a traditional shoe, so they are sort of like a wide. I can wear an 8.5

Also, i found the toe box in the 9 to be too long and bent in a weird place as my foot bent. So I returned for an 8.5. The toes are a little cozy in the 8.5 but I like it. they really do feel like a glove on my foot.

These light weight cross trainers are great for many types of exercise. They fit the contours of my foot. They also were great for Zumba class, and walking sight seeing in Boston! They are very comfortable, and I love how pretty they are.

I really love these shoes; they are perfect for anyone who hates the feeling of their feet being constricted. I am a barefoot person by nature and these shoes fit the bill. I wear a size 7M but they were too large and then I found a 6 1/2 on Amazon. Is there anything that Amazon doesn't have??? I don't know how we made it all these years without their wonderful service. I encourage all barefoot lovers to try these shoes, remember to order a half size down, you will not be disappointed.

I ordered these shoe's and did not realize that they were getting shipped from Germany. It took about two months to receive the shoes (VA USA). Once they arrived I was bit disappointed because I received the green instead of the red.(I was trying to match my cycling clothes) I looked into shipping them back and realized that it was not cost effective; And the process was nearly impossible to figure out. (The people at My Hunt Shop were nice and helpful)

After looking at them on the counter for a week or so, I picked them up and noticed the good construction. They seem to fit nicely, so I took them out for a ride. I was looking for a stiff sole for riding my bicycle and they worked out just fine. Now I have ridden them in rain, mud and hot. They seem to dry quickly and keep my feet nice and dry. They are unique and well built, I would recommend them. Just order them a couple months out if you need them for a specific time frame.

These shoes are great. These are for my son, they fit perfect, he loves them. I had a great dealing with the seller, and I will do business with them again. The shoes are #1, and the $ was right. I searched all around the town I'm from with no results. I got on the computer and was glad to find them. Thanks again.
