Spira Odyssey,
Brilliant, really brilliant. I have had other Spiras, lightweight racers and an earlier model. The concept of these 'Wavespring' shoes has always been very good.
Now with the Odyssey they have refined this into the most functional, comfortable and competent training shoe I have worn in 20 years of competitive running.
Just one good run in these shoes is enough for your legs to confirm what you felt on the road. Post run 10k feels like it was only 3k, 15k like about 8. Running on concrete in these is like running on grass in any Top name runner you want to mention Like those starting with A, B and N. A few months in these and you will never want to train in anything else and If you do go back to other Brands, you feel like you hit the ground so hard, you wonder how you ever used to manage running at all. You can wave most of your impact injuries goodbye and add years and miles to your running life.

I must rate these shoes as high as possible. I don't know about the return energy spring but the shock absorption is wonderful. I work on a solid cement floor, walking fast most of the day. They have really helped with my heal pain. Feet are still tired at the end of a 10 hour shift but not painful or aching anymore. Now I still wear my arch inserts, these helped my arch Plantar fasciitis but not the heal. These shoes have really helped.
I tried to run one night in these and for whatever reason; it was really hard to get in my 2 miles. I think because they are heavy it wore me out. But for work they are great. Gives good stability and comfort all day long. I will most likely purchase a second pair.
Be sure to order the next size up from what you normally wear. It was recommended to do so and I did. These 11.5 are exactly what I needed. Normally wear a 10.5 or 11. If you have a narrow foot these may not be for you as they are wide. I wear a wide shoe so it was great for me.

Unfortunately one of the right front coils would "click" as I walked and, for me, it was extremely annoying as I am on my feet 12 hours a day at work. Returned to Amazon the same day as I received them. I'm not sure if the clicking would go away as they were broken in but if I had worn them out, I probably wouldn't be able to return them. Amazon, though, made it extremely easy on the return process, which was nice.

A little pricey, but the Spira odyssey allows me to keep running. I've had Plantar Fasciitis, knee and back problems,which ended my running. I tried the spira's and started running again pain free.

I had already owned a pair of this particular shoe, but accidently ruined them and wanted to replace them with the same thing. I have owned other types of spring coil shoes; z-coiltoo much work to become comfortable for a shoe, gravitydefyercomplete waste of money!! Bought two pairs and both fell apart inless than 90 days!! And I have owned a variety of air jordans which are very well made, but just not as comfortable as spira's odyssey running shoe. In my opinion air jordans are good for short term, ex..basketball game/practice, baseball game/practice, running laps, etc.. Spira is good for both short AND long term. They are amazingly comforting ALL day and not just for short term sport events. For my use I use them at work where I am on my feet for 12 hours a day on concrete and for leisure. My feet used to hurt all the time so I tried many shoes hoping to correct the problem and I finally did when I purchased a pair of Spira's shoes. They have been the best type of shoes I have ever owned. I only wish Nike made a shoe like this. I am a 29 year old male, recently married, no kids, and have a very active life style so I need a shoe than can keep up with me.
