I'm a ED nurse and stand on my feet for 12 hour shifts all the time! While the only running I do is in the department I started wearing ASICS at the recommendation of another nurse for comfort and now WEAR NOTHING ELSE! While others wear the most expensive nursing shoes~ I wear ASICS and my feet are HAPPY!!! Have to say this style is the most expensive pair I've bought but is the MOST comfortable!!! I'm a big HIT with my patient's of all ages and especially with the pediatric one's~ what a great way to get the little one's to be comfortable with me as a nurse when you can make your shoes GLOW in the dark!!! Only drawback is the yellow part is a suedue like material and dark blue scrubs wear on it/ having difficulty keeping it clean like I would like. These shoes are by far the best athletic shoes I've purchased in years if not ever! I wear them everywhere. I'll be honest, I initially bought them b/c of the colors, but am pleasantly surprised by their comfort. I have plantar fascitis in my right foot that I've been undergoing treatment for and these shoes have actually helped in my recovery. Not to mention my custom orthotics work well with the shoes. And as some of the other reviewers mention, the top of the shoe is open and mesh. However, I don't plan to wear them out in the snow. I am contemplating buying them in the other colors available.

I run 10+ miles a day, every day. I've been running in the gel noosas for over 6 months with no injuries. I'm a mid to forefoot runner who concentrates a lot on her running form to avoid getting hurt. I invested in a pair of Newtons, just to try them out, and I can't make it through an entire run in them without my foot aching where that weird lug on the bottom is.

Asics never disappoint me. The toe box is roomy, it's lightweight and has just enough cushioning without feeling klunky. Plus, the colors are great! And they have lots of reflective material for those early morning, or after dark runs. The mesh tops keep my feet nice and cool, and now that winter has come, I just wear a heavier pair of socks and my feet never feel cold.

I highly recommend them.

I really loved the look and concept of these shoes. Neutral shoe with accent colors that pop! I'm used to the vibrant five finger shoes and thought these might work well for hiking and trail running they have a sturdy griping sole. Unfortunately, I found the fit terribly awkward. I am usually a 9, but a 9.5 in running shoes. I first ordered the 9.5. The ankle and mid foot area felt snug just standing, but the toe box was too wide. As I walked it would cause an uncomfortable slip forward. I ordered up half a size thinking this would prevent my toes bumping and rubbing the front of the shoe. But experienced the same problem. I have not had this issue in other minimalist style closed-toe shoes. The toe area was so wide I was concerned it would lead to tripping on the trail. They appear to be high quality. I'm sure they're great for some, simply didn't work for me!

While these are a little loose I wore and extra pair of socks with them but I do find them a little awkward to walk in. I can certainly feel the rebound when I walk and I've tried breaking them in slowly but I don't think I will ever be totally comfortable in them and I don't think I would ever get another pair.

I started running again about six years ago, in conventional shoes. Two years ago I read about the minimalist trend, tried on a few shoes, and settled on the original Saucony Hattori. What a difference light, comfortable, and I got rid of an old foot injury by gradually building up the muscles in my feet.

I bought the Hattori LC because my original Hattori were falling apart after being loved to death. These are even better better fit and easier to get on and off due to the laces instead of the velcro closure.

A word of caution: Like with any minimalist shoes, you need to get used to them slowly if you're switching from regular thick-soled running shoes. I went from running a 10k in the spring to doing a couch-to-5k over the summer, to get my feet and calves used to the different running style of a midfoot / forefoot landing instead of a heel landing. I'm never going back :)

After my first pair of Merrell Chameleon II's I was hooked. Those were the best all around hiking shoe/ everyday shoe I've had. Period. After wearing them into the ground, I decided to try the "latest and greatest" from Merrell which at that time was the Chameleon stretch 4's.

I held out prior to that point because of several negative reviews of the Chameleon 3's. The first pair of Chameleon 4's I ordered were in the "canteen" color and worked really well overall. They adjusted well to my feet and provided decent support. They seemed lighter than my II's, which at first glance would be a good thingthey however had a flimsier feel and did not handle rough terrain as well. Out of the box, you could tell they were well constructed but did not have the attention to detail and "overdesign" as my previous pair of Merrells had. After a few months of fairly hard wear, they toe cap began to pull away from the leather uppersomething my previous pair never had an issue with, even after 2+ years of solid, almost daily wear. With all that said, these held up for 1.5 years until a motor oil container burst on top of them, completely soaking the shoerendering them useless. In search of a new pair, I decided to try a pair of Keen Targhee II's that were at clearance price. These were nice, but nowhere near as comfortable and honestly looked a little ridiculous under jeans/pants. After scouring the web, wishing Merrell never discontinued the Chameleon Stretch II's, I came across the waterproof version of the 4's. They immediately drew me in with the muted, easier to handle color combination over the standard chameleon stretch.

After 6 months of mixed use out of the box, these have done nothing but impress. Better color, construction and materials used over the standard Chameleon 4'sand NO TOE SEPERATION to this point. I also love the waterproof aspectwhether trudging through wet grass or inches of snow for hours, there is little outer soaking and no water penetration at all. I can honestly say these are very close to my beloved Chameleon Stretch II's in fit, comfort and build quality.

I've run about 200+ miles on my first pair of Xodus 3 (purple) and just added a 2nd pair (blue) to my rotation. It's one of the few shoe models with toebox wide enough for my feet and that has been a common positive statement among runners, both locally and online. They've got a good rock plate that will likely provide protection against pointy gravel on gravel roads. (waiting for snowmelt to test) They also have decent shock absorption in the forefoot for those who land on midto forefoot. (So many shoes have elevated heels and no forefoot protection.) It's a nice blend of protection and firmness without being cushy. They also cinch snugly through the instep area, which is nice for those of us with high arches.

Most of my mileage has been on snow (bought in fall in Alaska) so not 100% sure how they will work on unfrozen dirt with rocks and roots that aren't buried under snow. I think they'll do well.

I wear them running, and after about 200 miles they had significant wear on the soles and a hole in the side! Very disappointing, and the last pair of Asics I will be buying for a while.

I "fell" into buying these shoes when I couldn't find the discontinued 1011 New Balance Motion Control for a decent price in my size. These were special at Amazon, and I decided to try them. I am so happy I did. They have lasted me twice as long as the 1011 and the support is still there. I had foot surgery for a bunion and now have to wear motion control shoes. I have major foot ailments: a stress fracture, custom orthodics, flat feet (2E) and bunions. I've tried many brands, but New Balance is the only one that really works for me. 2E is too wide for me in New Balance, so I take their D.

I had the WR1012 and was disappointed to hear it's discontinued. It was the only shoe that didn't give me blisters when I was breaking them in. It was also very light.

I bought the W1140 after reading the product description. I am not a heavy-set person, but do pound hard with my flat feet and stress fracture. W1140 is a light shoe with lots of stability. The grey color is good but I wish they didn't put the pink and purple. Not sure why designers all think women like pink/purple shoes.

The toe box is very wide, which is good for my 2E width.

I wear 6 normally, but buy 6.5 New Balance. I learned it gives me extra comfort without sacrificing stability.

Laces are not the jagged ones that New Balance offers, but these laces stay in place. It's long too, so I can still tie them well with my wide feet.

I received these quite quickly and I really, really like them. The motion control is everything I was hoping for, even adding strength to my legs. If you have severely flat feet, sometimes it is hard to find leg strength to go from a squat to a stand because of the over-pronation. If you have over-pronation problems, you do not have a steady platform upon which to stand, but these shoes certainly give you that platfom. I have not run in these and I won't, but walking comfortably has sure been made easier. I have some "heavy-duty" orthotics and these feel quite comfortable in the shoe once you remove the shoe's insert. I would recommend that you take 2 or 3 days getting used to the shoe. I wore them for 1 hour the first day; 2 hours on the second; and by the 3rd day I wore them for several hours. It's not that they are uncomfortable, but the motion control and shoe shape are different than the less expensive shoes I have been wearing. And speaking of expense, at less than $125 a pair, these shoes are worth every penny for comfort and functionality. I am buying an extra pair because I don't want to find myself without a comfortable pair of walking shoes again.

Affliction Men's Kodel Slip-On Review

I had no idea that Affliction made shoes till I saw these on the Affliction website. Found them for the same price but without tax and free shipping from Amazon so thought I'd give them a try. I own lots of shoes from lots of different brands and sort of have a peeve about the soles not being thick enough (*cough* Guess *cough*), but I can say these are great. The soles are thick like I like. The tops are canvas and a bit thinner and more flexible than I'm used to (used to leather) but the fit very well. Feels like putting on a sock with a shoe sole. I think these will be perfect for the summer. The styling is neat like you'd expect from an Affliction product, with metal studs tastefully placed and a nice consistent black wear marks.

I usually try to avoid white soles on shoes as they discolor quickly, but these are stylishly pre-worn and will keep dirt from being so obvious. I ordered the "wax" model and am not really sure what the difference is between this and the non-wax model. I guess there are a few spots on the canvas that are a bit shinier (very subtle)?

Overall I would recommend these, especially if you already have Affliction shirts to wear with them.

I tried a different model to get the size which was the same as my usual size for which I've brought my previous shoes on. Design is great, material is great. The shoes can make your feet feel confined as there isn't much wriggle room.

As you would expect with white shoes they will get stained quickly, I notice the shoelace has a dirt mark already but partly due to me not having the shoelace perfectly tied.

Beautiful shoe. All the reviews I read said Pumas run small. I normally wear size 11 to 11.5. I ordered 12's and they were too large. I was disappointed that there were no more in that style in the 11.5's. I exchanged them for 11.5 in the yellow/black. The 11.5 were still a half size too large. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the shoes. Absolutely beautiful. I will definately keep checking for white/black in that style though.

Thank you Asics for offering a size selection for us with not so tiny feet! I ordered a size 11W and I felt that my toe was just a little too close to the front...since most shoe companies don't carry half sizes past 10.5 (especially in wide) I was fully expecting to have to return these and pick another style, but low and behold Asics does offer half sizes even at 11 and in Wide! And thankfully with Amazons great customer service, I was able to order the new shoes and have them shipped to me while I was packing up the shoe I wanted to send back! All with a few clicks on my screen.

Asics will definitely be my first go-to when looking for a comfortable running shoe.
