I purchased these for the sole durability and I haven't been disappointed. I'm a heavier runner 6'2" 200 lbs and often run both street and trail on the same run so having a shoe that can handle both was the impetus behind this purchase. The top of the shoes binds the top of my foot slightly and the shell isn't very flexible. Good durable shoe, but won't win any comfort awards.

After putting in about 500 miles on these shoes, I've got to say I rated them too low. They gradually get more comfortable, but the durability is truly striking. Most of my running shoes show signs of wear a month in, but it took me a good 3 months to see any wear on the outer heal (where I tend to see wear first. I liked these so much I'm buying another pair and re-rating my purchase to a 5.

I've really just started running, but we get nasty weather in Calgary and I wanted something I could run through the winter with. I'd been using Saucony Men's Grid Trigon 3 Ride I bought a few years ago, and the shoes felt great but they're mesh, and the last thing you want to do is run with literally frozen feet.

The Crossmax are incredible. Excellent grip on snow and ice, to the point where I often just take my crampons off and run without. I've run in -18C and stayed warm, comfortable and nimble. They genuinely are door-to-trail, and I run in mixed terrain, from ravines to sidewalks without a problem.

My only problem is with the arch I've had some twinges in the arch, and I have high arches, although I suspect that will lessen as I beat the shoes up more. Other than that, excellent shoes.

I bought these one week before my first trail event. The Hyner Trail Challenge is a 16.5 mile event with over 1500 feet of elevation to climb. This year there was an added bonus of what can only be explained as a monsoon with freezing rain, sleet and high winds. The new shoes were definitely put to the test. These shoes gripped all of the mud laden surfaces both uphill and downhill giving me a immense feeling of stability and traction through the muddy and rocky trail. They also helped to stabilize my feet by keeping my ankles from rolling.

I have tried other shoes, but these had no break in period, felt the best and have held up to additional trail runs since the Hyner Trail Challenge. I would highly recommend these to anyone considering a purchase.

These are a little heavier then some of my previous trail shoes from La Sportiva, Salomon or Vasque, and I was originally not happy with their lack of waterproofing or how they drained if they did get wet. But once I learned they are just not meant for water, and I keep them dry, they have been an awesome additional to my collection of trail shoes.

Their grip is phenomenal, especially for hill climbing. They have lasted quite a few miles, and are showing little signs of wear. I love the Salomon lacing, it is great for when you get something in your shoe on a trail and want to quickly clean it out. If you aren't in a wet area these are great, I would happily recommend them any day.

This is my second pair of Salomon Crossmax trail running shoes. They are simply the best trail running shoes I have ever had. Of course, everyone's fit, running style, foot shape, and build will determine the best shoe for them, but I wanted to share what I have enjoyed about the Crossmax:

1) Stable shoe: I live in Utah and run some fairly steep, rocky trails. I always feel very stable in this shoe and have yet to turn an ankle (knock on wood!).

2) Soft Sole the shoe combines a soft sole with good protection for the balls of my feet. It is clearly a trail running shoe with the needed plate in the front of the shoe for rocky trails.

3) Breathable I did not order the clima-shield on either pair and have enjoyed how cool these shoes keep my feet on hot summer afternoon runs.

4) Tread While the shoe is intended for "door to trail", I used the Crossmax exclusively on trails. I was happy with the tread on the shoe (prefer it over the Mission tread from Salomon).

5) Life I logged approximately 200 miles this summer in the Crossmax. Given that I am a bit of a burly guy and many of my favorite trails have rocks that are hard on shoes, I was very impressed with how long the shoes last.

Kudos to Salomon, thanks for making such a great shoe. Now, just don't replace the Crossmax with the Mission....PLEASE keep the Crossmax around.

I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND ORDERING A WHOLE SIZE LARGER THAN NORMAL.

I normally wear a size 6 across the board. Only once in a great while I have had to buy a 6.5 and that is usually with sandals. I ordered these Reebok's in a 6.5 since I had heard they run small and the 6.5 is still VERY snug on me. I thought maybe they would lossen up some after wearing them, but it isn't happening. It is to the point that my feet are literally going numb, they are so tight. They look big enough but once I put them on, wow, they are tight. I think it has something to do with the padding inside the sneaker. Even to hold them up to another pair of my size 6 sneakers, these are a little longer, so it has to be something on the inside making them run so small.

I have worn them all day and evening long for 3 days, hoping they would loosen up, but as I said above, no such luck. I haven't felt any difference in my legs while wearing them this very short time period and am hoping to have better results with a pair that fit properly. Boy do my feet feel sooo much better after taking them off! I can't believe they run so small. I have never, ever wore a size 7 shoe of any kind, but apparently that's what size I need with these!

They do look ghood and seem to be well made. I didn't notice my stability to be "off" at all, which is how they are supposed to work..but again, maybe that has to do with not fitting properly. The soles (the actual bottoms, the pods on the bottom) feel good. It cushions and presses in when you walk. They absorb impact very well because of the pods.

I ordered mine from EastBay in order to take advantage of Bing CashBack and I am going to return them for an even bigger size. Thanks goodness the shipping was free and free returns.

UPDATE AFTER RECEIVING CORRECT SIZE:

I have been wearing the size 7 now for 2 weeks. They fit MUCH better. I did have to "break" them in a little still though. I have to say that these are really comfortable now that I have been wearing them regularly. I am on my feet constantly at work, and again when I get home. I get alot of walking in at work though and I have a physical job and these sneakers have been great in a variety of ways.

First of all YES I do believe they do SOME toning. I believe this because I can FEEL it in my legs, thighs and butt. These sneakers are by no means a replacement for exercise, but rather a boost to the activity you already do. I already walk a ton, to these give me a boost.

Secondly, since I have been wearing these sneakers regularly I have a significant decrease in back aches/pains. I am telling you I used to have back aches every single day after work. It was to the point that once I stopped moving for a minute or two, my back would feel like it was stuck and I couldn't move and it just ached like crazy. I can honestly say without a doubt that these sneakers have reduced that problem greatly! I have almost no back pain at all since I have been wearing them. That in itself is amazing to me and even if they didn't provide the toning benefits, I would still buy them for relieving the back pain.

I think these sneakers, due to the cushions on the soles used for toning, greatly absorb impact and that is why they have been so helpful wiTH my back pain. That is the only thing I can think of. They feel great to walk around in/on all day. They are very cushiony. With the balls on the bottom, it feels like you are stepping onto a cushion with each step. The ball things are soft kinda and push in as you step down.

I have never been a Reebok fan but I gaurantee I will buy more of these sneakers once this pair wears out. The comfort level and the decrease in my back pain/problems has me absolutely thrilled. The toning benefits are great too, but it is a close tie with relieving the back pain. That was an added, unexpected bonus that I am grateful for. I am so glad that I decided to give these a try and I do recommend them for the toning benefits and for relieving back pain. Totally worth it. JUST MAKE SURE YOU BUY THE RIGHT SIZE A SIZE LARGER THAN USUAL.

I'm actually not much of a sneaker person, but after reading so many positive reviews for this product, I had to give them a try. They are very comfortable, sort of like walking on pillows. Whether or not they'll really help me tone-up remains to be seen, but even the first day wearing them it felt like my legs muscles had gotten a light workout; obviously not the same calibre as a gym workout, but definitely that faint soreness after wearing them around the house for a few hours. As far as sizing goes, I'm generally anywhere between a 5.5 and 6.5, depending on the shoe, but with these I had to size-up to a 7.

I have had my eye on these since the first commercial. I owned a pair of toning flip flops from curves and loved the feel and comfort and hoped these would be the same, only more stylish. I recieved them for Christmas and can't stop wearing them!!

I work ALL day on my feet and try to take care of my legs (however I am not in tip top shape). The first day I wore both TED hose (to keep Vericose Veins at bay) and socks. I really couldn't tell at the time how comfortable these shoes were, but still liked them. The 2nd day I tried w/o the TED hose and just wore a sock. AMAZING difference. They were so comfortable & breathable. That night I could feel the backs of my legs ached a slight bit, like I had done a short workout. A couple more days down and still experiencing the same results.

Do I expect these to give me rock hard muscles, no, but I do believe they will benefit me in 2 ways, help give a boost on toning and let me work in comfort at the same time. Who knows I may be shocked on the toning benefits over time. I will say that I do feel as though my posture is better with these. I also noticed my legs don't seem to tire, as with other shoes.

Would I recommend these to a friend? YES! Would I buy another pair? Yes, in fact I am thinking about going ahead and ordering another pair to have on hand & a pair of flip flops.

I got a pair of EasyTone Reeinspire for Christmas. I have worn them about 4 or 5 days a week. I was really happpy with them until this week. The bulges on the bottom of one of them collapsed and caved in. For what they cost, I would have expected them to last more than 2 1/2 months. THEY ARE NOT WORTH THE MONEY!!!

I grabbed a pair of these in black for an upcoming trip to a extremely warm climate. These shoes are pretty awesome to wear casually(i have not went running in them yet). The ultralight, thin, breathable material on the upper makes it feel like you arent wearing shoes and the lunar sole provides great cushioning and comfort while walking around. They also look great on your feet!

I have been suffering with planters fasciitis pain for about a year. I tried inserts, always wearing my Nike running shoes, icing, stretching, nothing was helping. I decided to fork out some money for a good pair of shoes. I am glad I did! When I wear these shoes, I don't have any pain when I walk. I wore a pair of sandals a few days ago and was in pain again afterward. These shoes are a Godsend for me! I'm hopeful if I continue to wear these shoes, I might be able to increase my exercise and hopefully start running!!! Yayyy!!

One of the things I like about these shoes is the heel cushioning. When you push with your finger on the heel, you can actually see the gel absorb the pressure. My daughter gets a kick out of pushing on them! I love the color, very bright and fun! And the cushioning around the achilles tendon is super awesome! :)

All around just a great pair of comfy shoes. I am new to Asics (I usually wear Nike or Adidas) but I think they have found a new loyal customer! I even bought a pair for my daughter who was experiencing some heel pain (Sever's Disease) and they have helped her pain level as well!

I think these shoes may have converted our family to an Asics family!! :)

**UPDATE**

After wearing these shoes for a couple of months, there is a toe hole forming in my right shoe. This happened not long after wearing them. I am not happy that I spent the money I spent on this shoe to have them practically unwearable after a few months. It did help with my heel pain, but I don't wear these shoes very much anymore, usually around the house. I wear a different pair of Asics (that don't get toe holes!) when I go out. :(

This is like the worst shoe I have bought, EVER. While I do agree that it is super comfortable, it is due to the fact that it has very soft rubber. It literally wore out in 2 weeks. On top of that, the glue that binds the parts is really bad. So, don't get surprised if you find parts of the sole in your room/work. I was not expecting such a poor build quality from the amount I paid for it. DON'T BUY THIS. I am going to avoid AVIA and stick to regular brands like adidas,nike etc for shoes.

This shoe is perfect for my running style. (I am a track 100/200 sprinter at the collegiate level.) I am at least a moderate over-pronator, and these have perfect arch support. They have also helped with my once-constant patella-femoral (knee) pain. I used to wear Saucony sneakers religiously but tried these out because I couldn't afford Saucony's, and these are actually surprisingly better! These top-of-the-line Adidas hiking boots are amazing. The weight and grip are unparalleled by any other hiking boots that I have ever come across on the AT. Need I mention that they are completely waterproof? As long as you aren't hiking through the Klondike these boots are crazy-good. Ok, So my husband first purchased these shoes from like Rack Room Shoes or some place like that several years ago. Once they wore out (like 3 years later) we went back but they only sold these UGLY bright red and funky looking FILAs. We found that these specific black ones could only be purchased online. He's VERY picky about his shoes, they must be black, must be FILA, and must be these! The last pair I bought for him was back in like 2008, and they are still looking NEW! The quality is good, they look great, but be aware of 2 things. First, they seem to run a little small. A 1/2 size larger than I normally wear is perfect in this shoe. Second, the laces are the round, cord type as opposed to a flat lace. Not a big deal, but if you're annoyed by the way any and every thing outdoors seems to stick to the round laces, be ready to replace them. Overall very sharp with a thick sole. Even for someone who drags their heels, etc. they should last a good long while. Sale price is good and as always Amazon shipping was fast.

I have worn Columbia hiking shoes/boots for ages & currently have 5 pairs of them in my closet all size 11. Ordered the Tagoris to replace an old worn out pair and couldn't believe how odd the fit was! These shoes are MUCH narrower than Columbia's normal fit and are way too narrow for me. The insoles are also very uncomfortable, having a couple of support areas that stick up way too far and make it feel like you've got something foreign stuck in your shoe. The heel end of the shoe is also shaped oddly causing the shoe to slip up & down on your heel when you walk.

I will chalk this one up to a design flaw or something, as I have been so happy with Columbia shoes over these years. I only give them two stars because they are nice looking. Avoid these shoes...

I had two previous pairs of Columbia hiking shoes that were great. This model shoe is NOT great. The shape of the shoe has changed and these are too narrow. The inner sole is not well anchored and it bunches up when putting the shoes on. These are simply uncomfortable for routine dog walking and unusable as actual hiking shoes. I should have returned them right away. NOT RECOMMENDED unless you have very narrow feet.

These were an amazing bargain -I rarely buy shoes over the internet, and when I do it's almost always from Zappos or similar with free return shipping, because realistically, what are the chances the shoe is going to fit?

Well, I did some decent research on these, and Amazon had an amazing price, so I gave them a shot.

They are incredibly comfortable and I wore them for probably five or six miles the first time I put them on with no break-in period and had no repercussions whatsoever.

I have a kind of narrow foot and these have a perfectly sized footbed.

was very happy with the previous purchase of columbia boots I did in my previous purchases but Tagori Columbia Sportswear Men's Hiking Shoe, British Tan / Squash, 7 M, I am very unhappy since they came presenting a defect in the inner rear where padding is a defect in the shoe that keeps deformed in this area and thus cause trouble to use it and the same shoe on the front izquierta also makes the shoe as they feel uncomfortable seams and squeeze in that place, thing that the left shoe does not pass, it's a shame that this happens and I have to go through this very uncomfortable for me to have to make this claim when the mark for my columbia is one of the best and comfortable for me. this is my first time going and I find it very strange because I know that Columbia is characterized by excellent quality control.
