This shoe fits like a glove. I have narrow feet and I usually swim around the toe box of Brooks, but the Pearl Izumi has zero rub. The dynamic offset took a little bit of getting used to since I was kind of retreating from the more minimalist Brooks Pure line of shoes. I needed more cushioning for my 10+ mile runs and this shoe seems great. It rides low on the ankle, but is very comfortable. I find that I need to really stretch the lacing system to get a snug fit, but after a few runs I realized that these fit so well that I didn't need to cinch them down so tight because the shoe offers a naturally snug fit. I think I'm personally more of a fan of the traditional lace, but this lacing system is just fine once you get a feel for the mechanism.
Overall it's a great shoe. The dynamic offset of the sole took some getting used to for my arches. Once my feet acclimated I felt like these shoes were great.

There isn't a lot of room for socks. They are snug but do not feel uncomfortable. I haven't been actually running in them yet, but the support on my arches while walking felt great. I am anywhere from a 9-9 1/2. These were a 9 B(m). But I am not sure what that means exactly lok

Fit like a glove from the get-go. Wonderful for the gym, running, walking. I don't even know I have them on. Lightweight. They seem neutral, without an interfering arch, but with just the right amount of support--a little more than barefoot style shoes, but not interfering. Easy to get on after the first couple of wears. I will buy these again in a heartbeat.

I needed a new running shoe and happened on a Pearl Izumi booth at a running expo. I tried on the running version of this shoe: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008ORB6WC/ref=twister_B00AA9CAG8 and it was an instantly comfortable fit, which is a rarity for me in running shoes. I almost bought them right then and there, but god, that color. I want bright running shoes but that teal/tomato is just obnoxious. Additional searching on Amazon yielded these, which are the equivalent make in a tri-sneaker.
I ordered both through Amazon because I knew how the running shoe would fit, but I didn't like the color. I was hoping the tri-sneaker would fit similarly and I loved the color. Here's my evaluation:
COLOR: I absolutely LOVE the color of this hot pink, green and black tri-shoe. It is right on trend without being obnoxious. The multi-colors helps me match to more of my gear. Unlike the teal and tomato, of which I have nothing that matches...
OVERALL FIT: It fits almost exactly like the running shoe. The cushioning is exactly the same (N2-Neurtral distance). The fabric is definitely more snug than the running shoe. It was noticeable-I was able to adjust the tightness around the arch with the running shoe, but not with the "all-in-one" tri-sneaker. I really could wear this without socks, but I chose some thin ones I have just because I'm not ready for sockless running yet. Definitely go up a half-size up if you wear thicker socks.
MATERIALS: As the images show, the honeycomb material is minimal coverage compared to the running shoe, and you can see my socks through the holes. Expect your feet to get wet in rain. The cut of the tri-sneaker is just slightly lower than the running shoe, and I think that's because it's all one piece so it has to be so you can get it on and off easily. I never felt like I would fall out of the shoe, though I did notice it was a different feel. Note that the tongue is sewn to the rest of the shoe.
TOE BOX: I ordered in my normal size and there was plenty of room. The toe box was flatter, so I had less room to move my toes up and down, but it was also wider, and my pinky toe didn't feel like it was rubbing on the side of the tri-sneaker like it did in the running shoe.
RUNNING TEST: In the running test for the tri-sneaker (which I did not conduct for the running shoe since I'm returning), I compared it to my Nike Vomero running shoes. The cushioning is less "air cloud" like, but I liked it because I felt more connected to the trail and more conscious of my form. There is definitely a difference in the fit, and I noticed a reverse issue in my knee-normally it bothers me my right knee but now it was ok but bothering my left. I think I just need to get used to the shoe. Unfortunately, after about mile 2, my fourth and pinky toe went numb and I was unable to regain feeling until my run finished. This is really unfortunate, but is something that is common for me and the main reason I wear Nikes, as they are the only brand that doesn't do this to me. So if you don't already have this problem, I wouldn't expect this pair to do it to you.
Overall a great and definitely different fit from what I am used to. If you are willing to keep an open mind about fit and taking time to get used to a different sneaker, this may be a good shoe for you.
