Review of Salomon Trax Hiking Shoe (Little Kid/Big Kid)
These shoes fit well, and they look great. My son loves them. Like the pull cord idea, however, the cords are way to long and pose a trip hazard. It would be nice to be able to shorten them, without cutting or tying them in a knot.

In general, we love these shoes for our boys ages 6 and 5. They fit nicely with or without a sock and have great flexibility and traction. As would be expected, they are not warm enough for wearing in the winter. There are two downsides. First, the silver part of the shoe is not actually material, it is paint. It doesn't last as long as one would expect it to for dropping $60 on a pair of shoes. I wish they would either eliminate the silver part entirely or make it better quality by actually being material. The first pair my eldest son owned had one shoe with the silver paint all worn off within the first month of wearing them, and the other shoe had it partially missing. So the shoes didn't look as nice as they should have for $60. Second, these shoes do NOT easily dry off. The advertising I recall says that they dry quickly...they don't. Not even in direct sunlight. It usually takes a good day for them to dry off if we put them outside after playing in the water. I think these shoes would be a better bargain if the above were improved upon OR if the price was lowered to say $45 a pair.
All that said, they are great outdoor play shoes for the spring, summer, and fall. My son has learned to climb trees like a monkey in these shoes because they offer adequate protection and traction while also giving his foot the flexibility it needs to climb.

I bought these for my clumsy boy. He was hating school last year because he was always falling and couldn't run as fast as the other kids. I'm a huge fan of barefoot shoes as evolution got it right we were meant to walk on those things at the ends of our legs so let them work as they should! These are great shoes in the adults sizes and kids sizes!!

I grabbed a pair of these in black for an upcoming trip to a extremely warm climate. These shoes are pretty awesome to wear casually(i have not went running in them yet). The ultralight, thin, breathable material on the upper makes it feel like you arent wearing shoes and the lunar sole provides great cushioning and comfort while walking around. They also look great on your feet!

Can't say enough good things about these shoes the gorgeous color is what originally caught my eye, and it is even better in person, a bluish-purple. I was also looking for Velcro, and these go on & off in a snap. My 6 y.o. daughter says that they are comfortable, which is the most important, and she is picky about shoes. The sole is nice & supportive, but it flexes well while she runs & jumps around. The sole also seems sturdy, like it will not erode over time. Overall the shoe is solid & supportive without being too heavy (which was important for my li'l klutz).
It's been about 2 months or so and these are holding up well. I liked them so much that I ordered a similar pair of Saucony Velcro in white for her for variety, as well as several pairs for my 2 y.o. son.

Oboz Men's Lightning BDRY Trail Running Shoe Reviews
Critique: I have been trail running for years and for about the last 3/4 of a year I switched to a minimalist shoe called the brooks pure connect because I also do a decent amount of road running. Those shoes are ultralight weight and extremely flexible. They don't have a raised heel so my stride can follow through better. However they have rounded relatively smooth soles so when I go trail running if the trail is the least bit damp they love to slip. I saw these shoes and I really like the sound of the company and was intrigued by the off set lacing system. After watching a youtube review and seeing the other reviews on this shoe I was sold. lightweight, doesn't retain moisture, great trail runner, ect... I took these out the first day for a short 2 mile run with the dogs and it was the hardest run I have run in a long time. My heels were hitting too soon and messing up my stride, my calves were working overtime to compensate for the stiffness of the sole, and over all it was extremely difficult. In addition it weighs a substantial amount. I have some Merrell hiking boots that I normally use for backpacking and hiking. These shoes and the Merrell boot are pretty much the same weight. I kid you not! I handed them to my roommate to see if it was just me, but neither of us couldn't tell which weighed more.
Upside: The shoe does seem to be very well constructed. I do like the offset lacing system, it lets the toes bend more naturally. It has a sole similar in stiffness to a backpacking boot meaning it doesn't really bend past the ball of the foot which will help prevent arch fatigue. It is lighter than a lot of hiking boots. The shoe is very solid. I have been looking to get away from boots because after a while the higher boots tend to crease and rub against my ankle bone. I would have returned these since they are definitely not a running shoe in my opinion but I think that anyone looking for a good hiking shoe should check these out. It is a quality shoe, and it comes from a good company.

This is my third pair of Lightning and sixth pair of Oboz in general. Got them, put them on, ran 15K on a trail in Napa and they fit like I've been wearing them for months. Strong support, fantastic fit, it's like they were made for me. I just love these shoes, they keep puddles out and stay breathable. Really like the fit and style. Was looking for a lighter weight shoe for hiking and general use. These feel good and breath well feet don't get too hot. I found the sizing to be very accurate and they are not too narrow like a lot of shoes seem to be.

After a long search for the perfect running shoe, I came across the Ride FOUR! And wore them religiously (I am a half marathon runner, but I usually run about 20 miles a week)
Once it came time to get a new pair, I was sad to discover that it was discontinued. And replaces with the Ride 5. Upon reading the reviews of the Ride 5, the main complaint is the narrower Toe box (one of my favorite aspects of the Ride 4.
But after trying a couple different shoes, I decided to give the Ride 5 a try. The Wide size was too wide, so I went with the average width.
While it IS a narrower toe box, I think I can live with it. The shoes are super comphy, but my toes do burn after longer runs. I will keep this updated after my next half marathon in October (first with this pair)
But if the Saucony gods are out there listening. IF you want a perfect shoe, keep the 8mm heel drop and bring back the wider toe box.

Bought these for my wife as a birthday gift to replace another pair of Saucony shoes. She is an avid runner and goes through a pair of running shoes every few months. I LOVE running in the Reebok Zigtech shoes. I've bought several models over the last several years and have been more than happy with all of them. Until these. :-( They are not nearly as cushioned as the previous models I've owned. The heel is not more cushioned as expected. As a matter of fact, my heels HURT running in these shoes. If you have any issues with plantar fascitis, this shoe is not for you! Wish I could send them back, but I've already tried them out. I'll keep them for biking, instead.

My son and I have both used this shoe for some track events. My son loved the shoe and wore it for this track season. I also used it for some training and a track event. I am a mediocre sprinter. I am 6'0'' 235lbs and have run anywhere from 11.7-12.5 in the 100m. I started with running sneakers then moved to spikes. Spikes made an incredible difference. These are fantastic boots for the price!
I got through the season wearing these and they're still holding up pretty well. I did notice that the heel is a bit narrow which sometimes causes me to lose my balance during low speeds or when just walking. These cleats seem very durable though. No rips or tears in the material and no cracks have developed yet and I think these will last another couple of seasons!
I had not played soccer in years. When I came back, I bought cheap Adidas cleats, which was a mistake.
Adidas is a great brand, and probably the best one when it comes to soccer, but the cheap end of their product line is... cheap. Mine were just a flat plastic plate with studs under it, a plastic-ish upper, and laces that wouldn't stay tied. They don't just change the materials on their cheap stuff, it is the whole design. For example, the position of the studs on the sole doesn't match the position of the studs on their mid-to-high end cleats and, in the particular case of the ones I had bought, I felt that the position of the studs left my heel unsupported on the outer side. Because the pitch I play at is hard, it caused my ankles to roll sometimes. How I managed to not really injure myself I don't know, but I had pain in my ankles and lower legs when I was playing, from time to time. The sole was so flat and thin in those cleats that I ended up adding a cushioned insert, which improved things a lot, but never quite solved it, and it ended up taking room from under the toes. The laces would start to give after a while, enough that I could feel my feet going off the side of the base plate. Regardless of how strongly I tightened them up, and how many knots I made, after 20 minutes or so I had to tighten them up again.
Now about the Asics: Playing with these cleats has been a huge improvement.
The good:
They fit perfectly around my feet, no pressure points, and not loose.
The cushioned insert is not needed anymore. The main reason I went to Asics is that they are a running shoe company, and soccer involves a lot of running. I saw Asics' video about their line of soccer cleats on their website and I decided to give these a shot. Glad I did. The whole thing they say there about keeping the heel 10 mm higher went completely unnoticed to me. I was afraid I would roll my ankles, but it hasn't happened.
There is some toe room. Not too much, as it is a soccer cleat, but there is. In comparison with the Adidas it feels like there is a lot of room, because I don't need the cushioned insert anymore. I always put some tape around my big toes when I play a match for extra protection, but I have trained without tape and it is ok.
The sole supports my heel much better. The big secret, I guess, is that the two studs at the very back end have to be apart enough so they stabilize your foot (not the case with the Adidas). Also, the material of the sole is different; it has a more rubbery feeling. Compared to the Adidas, there are more studs, so pressure is more evenly distributed. In my case it works great. Maybe if I was playing at Old Trafford I wouldn't mind the Adidas with less studs.
The upper is synthetic leather. While it is not the top end of materials, it is way better than the plastic stuff I was playing with. It offers some cushion on the touch with the ball, but not too much. My ball control and first touch got better. The noise when I touch the ball has changed to a less dry sound.
The bad:
The laces are not good either. Although better than the laces on my old Adidas, they are too far from being the laces on the Mizunos I run with. I will definitely replace the laces in the near future. Funny I haven't done so yet.
The ugly:
If I had to complain about something, it would be that it was impossible to find these cleats at a store to actually try them on. I would like to have compared the Lethal Flash with the DS Light before buying.
Verdict:
For the price (specially the discounted price I paid at Amazon), I think these are a great choice, if not the greatest. As you go up to $100, $150, there may be some other stuff out there that is as good as or better, but I am very satisfied with these. I will be even more satisfied once I put better laces on them.
For size, add 0.5 to your normal shoe size. I wear 8.5 (US), and my size for these cleats is a 9.0, same as with the Adidas cleats.

I switched to these cleats a few months ago after finding that the Pumas that I have been loyal to for 5-10 years are no longer being made. I found that these cleats provide a minimal amount of ankle support and are not great on hard surfaces. I am an avid soccer and ultimate frisbee player who is used to rapid changes of speed and direction while I play. Within minutes of my first use of these cleats, I realized that my feet were not getting the support they needed while completing these motions. Unfortunately, this has resulted in rolling my ankle on numerous occasions. I believe strongly that these injuries would not have occurred if I had been wearing better cleats. I wouldn't recommend these cleats to aggressive athletes.

These "new and improved" insoles are nothing like the original 2oz Miracle insoles. They are thin and stiff, and your foot doesn't sink into them like it did with the old ones. I'm extremely disappointed that they changed the design and wish they would bring the original design back. My opinion: save your money.

I was not satisfied with the purchase I made ,as I did not recieve the items I purchased, which were to be as shown in this advertisement. They were totally different than what I had expected and I was dissapointed, as I had purchased ten pair. It is my thinking that the picture shown should have been the items I recieved, but they were not, so I think you should remove the picture to prevent someone else from making the same mistake in ordering something they will not get. I have used these inserts in the past and have been looking for them everywhere...they are getting hard to find. Concrete floors and steel-toed work boots make these essential if you don't want your feet to feel like the bottoms have been hit with a 2x4. I'd recommend them to anyone who can get their hands on them and puts in 12+ hours a day on their feet.
