Fist pair of cycling shoes for me and I must say they're extremely comfy. I live in a very hot country and the mesh really permits my feet to breath but it doesn't take away from the stability of the shoe. Easy to slip on and off, although for some they might not tighten enough for a snug fit but for me that's fine as I'm just getting used to being clipped onto my pedals and if I can slip my foot out of the shoe in case of an emergency, much better! I did order up as all the other reviews mentioned, thank god for that! I'm usually a 38 (8USA) and ordered a 41 and they fit perfectly.

The mesh has no cloth backing to keep dirt out. You shoes will be full of dirt the second you hit any. Also, the heel is a strange fit. Lots of rubbing up and down. The heel does not stay put, partially because of the sole being so stiff, the shape of the heel does not seem right, and the tie ups don' t allow a tight fit. Returned and will try something else.

I have a "Salomon foot" with high arch and instep. I have a closet full of Salomon downhill ski boots, cross country ski boots, water shoes, and hiking boots. All good stuff.

Recently, I purchased the Wings Sky GTX to replace a worn-out pair of ten-year-old leather Salomon hiking boots. Wow! These are so much lighter, tougher, more stable, and more comfortable than the pair they replaced that it's difficult to string together enough superlatives to convey my delight with this product. I have subsequently purchased a second pair.

In my estimation, the Wings Sky GTX defines the current state of the art for heavy-duty hiking footwear. At this time, it doesn't get any better than this. Enjoy!

I purchased these boots after doing alot a research on a nice pair of lightweight yet comfy & durable hiking boots.

These boots fit the bill, I was worried about them looking like a guawdy pair of basket ball boots. But rest easy in the flesh they are easy on the eye and SO comfortable. So far I have taken them on several day hikes, and a couple of week long trips (15-20kg load avg), on varied gravel/rock/muddy trails in the spring and summer. They have perfomed great and held up well. I will update the review when I take them hiking in Japan during the hot humid times OR the winter sleet ect weather that we dont get here in Perth.

Basicly if you buy these boots you will be happy with your purchase, so will your feet and knees :)

I've done a fair amount of hiking in the tropical isle of St.Lucia where I live. I've tried a few different boot brands but this is by far the best. Never did I imagine that a pair of rugged hiking boots could literally feel like a pair of basketball sneakers. In fact, I can state with no exaggeration that not even my new balance running shoes feel better than the Salomon GTX. Ultra-light, exceptional cushioning and very rugged, these boots are definitely worth the price!!! Highly recommended!!!

Salomon has done it again! A Great Ultra Lightweight Hiking boot. This is my fifth pair of Salomon in the last 10 Months. I used this pair mainly for technical hiking, cross country, rain and rocky trail conditions. They are very comfortable, light, good ankle support, fit good and does not need break in. I went hiking the next day I got it. So far I hiked twice with this pair, they are both 17 miles with over 4000 elevation gains.

So far I've only worn these boots for a week in the mountains and desert of Utah. The boots have performed well in both the rugged, slick rock trails of Canyonlands and rocky, rooty, trails of the LaSals and Abajos. They are light and quite comfortable, have held up well through this admittedly brief time, and if you look around you can get them at a good price (mine were ($120). I'm a Soloman fan and these boots didn't disappoint in any way.

This avia shoe I bought is amazing. It is more stylish out of the box and is very feminine. I love the blue stripe. The shoe's heel is extremely comfortable. I know it might not look that comfortable but the little gaps give so much cushion. The cushion doesn't come on the inside like on most shoes but it comes from the outside. I think the shoe was made for people with narrow feet. That is tottally me. I have such a narrow foot that I cannot wear moccosins or anything of the sort. My heel just slips jp no matter what the size. Well anyway regarding the shoes they fit me perfectly so just have that in mind. I tried loosening it up for the review and it still fits me perfect. Also the shoes are not actually brown. They are black. Overall you're foot will thank you if you buy this shoe under one condition. You're foot must be extremely narrow!

I can't say that I have ever purchased a pair of shoes online, since I am so picky about the fit. But this shoe had such good reviews that it was hard to pass up for the deal. They feel WONDERFUL!!! And it's about time a good pair of running shoes have some arch support. These shoes are extremely comfortable and don't even need to be broken in. Some reviews said they seemed to run a bit small, maybe by half a size. I normally wear a 10 in running shoes, but I bought these in a 10.5 and they fit perfectly! Just enough wiggle room. Really needed some new gym shoes, and despise dealing with shoe sales departments, so I took a chance, did a little research on NewBalance.com and ordered these from Amazon because they were on sale. They definitely run small, so order a half size up. I'm a 9 and the 9.5 is perfect with or without socks. VERY lightweight and just supportive and balancing enough for my over-pronation. --(2/2/2010: Update to review below: I contacted Amazon right after submitting this review. I never expected or had requested a refund from Amazon, having purchased these well over a year ago. I just wanted to know if they or the retailer had any warranty on these due to the premature wear of the studs and/or could I go back to the retailer I purchased these from for a resolution. Well, Amazon promptly replied back the same day that they would refund my full purchase price and emailed me the return shipping label as well as the return approval to include in the package. Amazon came through with flying colors on their dedication to customer support. This was a situation where I never expected a refund and Amazon stepped right up to offer me one. A well deserved 5 Star rating -for Amazon-. It's the very same reason why i typically buy from them over any other on-line retailer, both due to their great customer service as well as their very competitive prices. --

Bought these from Amazon in Nov 2008. Easy to adjust for fit and from shoes up to large boots and they stay on firmly without slipping off or out of position (the tread stays put where it needs to be). The big problem with these is that the studs seem of soft metal and wore completely flat in only one and a half winters of use. I don't wear these on asphalt, just around the backyard or driveway when we've had heavy snow that melted and then refroze. The studs have only seen ice, but, wore down far too fast for what I paid for them. I so wish the studs could be removed (un-screwed) and replaced since the rest of the rubber tread and straps are like new, but, they seem riveted into the sole. It would be easy enough to grind down the top of rivet to remove them if I can find a screw-in stud that would fit the hole the studs are in. This of course should not be needed to be done this soon and thus, I give the treads a 2 star rating (would probably give them 2 1/2 stars if I could) for poor durability and wear of the studs used in these to bite the ice,

I use these for hiking on wet clay surfaces. The performance is not good. The attachment design is very poor, as they constantly came off the boots I had to modify the attachment design. The bottoms caked with mud quickly, rendering them ineffective to their purpose indeed I fell more often than fellow hikers without them. They need a bottom design that makes it easy to release caked on mud and ice.

Also the trails contain many rocks and some paved portions (cement and asphalt) which quickly wear the spikes. It would be good to have a cap or other device to snap on for these surfaces.

I ordered these shoes to use for my aerobic workouts... I kinda knew from the price that they wouldn't be the highest quality, and I was right. I'm not knocking them though.... I will wear these shoes for everyday use (for which they are perfect) but if you are looking for good workout shoes... you're going to have to bite the bullet and spend the money on better shoes.

I want to start out by saying I'm not a serious runner. I do a couple of miles on the treadmill at the gym 3 times a week so this review may be irrelevant if you are a hardcore runner. These sneakers are super comfy. I have big feet for a woman (size 11) and have a lot of trouble finding sneakers that have the arch in the right spot for my foot. Avia and one other brand are the only ones that seem to fit so far. This sneaker is super light weight. It feels like I don't have anything on my foot most of the time. They have enough cushioning for running on the treadmill. The style is cute enough to wear around, outside the gym. The pink soles are actually brighter than the picture, more of a hot pink. This didn't matter to me but I was expecting them to look light pink from what I saw in the picture. If you are concerned about the color, this may make a difference to you. The black part is mostly mesh material but has some pleather parts, some of it shiny, some not.

For the price, I think I got a great deal on these. I don't expect them to last forever and I don't know if they'd be good for anything other than what I'm using them for but they are perfect for me right now.

For some reason the shoe that shows on my review is not the color that I bought. I got the black/pink version.

I wanted a lighter athletic shoe that could use while doing strength training workoutssomething that would provide support and feel light on my feet. I received these today and they fit the bill. I have wide feet and often have to compensate by ordering a half size up which I did with these. I found that I could have gotten away with a 7.5 instead of the 8 that I got, so they might be a bit too wide for someone with narrow feet. They are not super cushiony so I don't know how comfortable they would be for something like running or walking for long periods. Also, you can't see it very well in the pictures, but some of the details on the shoe look shiny, almost like patent leather. There isn't a lot, but it might be too flashy for some.

I love ASICS, this is my 4th pair. I mainly wear these as work shoes and they are very comfortable. My work requires me to move around and stand for most of the day. My feet use to hurt like crazy when I wore converses. I've purchased these as a backup pair when my current ones go out. I wait until Amazon offers them for a good deal, like around $30 because they're usually listed for $60. That's how I can afford 4 pairs :D I'm a size 9 for ASICS, but had to exchange these for 9.5 because they fit like an 8.5. I'm not sure if it's the different style or Gel, but I thought it was weird. Either way, Amazon made the exchange easy and the shoes are still awesome.

These are not the USA-made New Balance you know and love. Mine were made in Indonesia and way too narrow. If I had bought these anywhere else, that would have sucked, but with Amazon it was as easy as printing out the return label and dropping it off at UPS for an instant refund. The day I dropped it off, I got an email saying my refund was on it's way and would be processed in 2 days for a credit card or 7 days at most for bank account. They didn't even do the usual waiting to see if they get the shoes back thing, like you will find at so many other online shoe places.

In short, Amazon is a great place to buy sneakers online, but if you buy these, know that a D is very narrow. I saw other reviews complaining about the shoes being made in China or elsewhere and the shoes being too small, but unfortunately that was after I'd already made my purchase. I'm here to tell ya, it's the truth. You might want to try a wide or something. The length was good, but the width was narrow. I could have worn the laces very loose and just stretched them out with wearing, but the soul actually felt too narrow as well, like my foot was resting on a child's flip-flip and overflowing on the sides; a strange sensation considering the sides were too tight for my feet to be "overflowing" like that, but nevertheless, that was indeed the fit. A terrible fit.

Converse CT AS Slip-on Oxford Reviews

I recently received a pair of these (the Charcoal/Orange ones, by the way) and I must say I am delighted with them. First off, these are my first pair of Chuck Taylors I have ever owned and worn, so it's not like these are just one more to my collection of Chucks. Although they look somewhat painful on the feet because of the apparent lack of arch-support of shoes I usually wear, they feel really, really great. They are the lightest shoes I have worn, they are very comfortable and the marvelous lack of laces make these my new choice for everyday wear. On top of that, they look gorgeous pretty much on top of anything.

A note of caution for people who have never bought Chuck Taylors before: it's no joke when Converse itself advices the american market buy them a size smaller than your regular wear if you're a male and 2 sizes smaller in case you're a female. In my case, I'm a male who typically wears size 11.5, but I ordered them size 11, because I was so scared that they would be too tight and would not be wearable. Upon arrival, I tried them out and as I expected, I had about half an inch of free space inside the shoes, and although on slip ons it's preferred to have a somewhat tight grip on the shoes, they still feel and behave greatly.

Simply put, they're the most comfortable and overall best shoes I own. =)

Edit: Two years later, they're good as new.

Some of the most comfortable shoes I've ever had.

After having a black pair for a year, I'm getting a new pair. Don't get the John Varvatos version they're different and fit a lot looser. These ones are the totally classic looking version. The seams around the eyelets get frayed with wear but not in a bad way it adds to the look.

The best thing is that you can get them on with one hand very quickly and easily. If I'm going out to the yard with the dog I'll wear clogs, but to go to the store down the street, or walk anywhere, I'll wear these. You can even run in them for a short distance and they feel fine.

It sounds silly, but not having to tie laces is a majorly cool feature, it saves time and effort when you're running out the door. I like to take my shoes off when I come inside my house doing so with these is super easy and ditto throwing them on when going out.

I wore Chucks for years, and I think these slipons look a bit neater than laceup Chucks. If they were clean and new, I would feel comfortable wearing these almost anywhere.

I can't stress enough: they are incredibly comfortable. My other shoes are Clarks, keens, merrels, ecco's, teva's, chacos, and frye's, and I usually use inserts with them; these shoes are more comfortable than any of them.

Had to send them back twice to get the right fit, even taking the Converse sizing into account. I'd advise to get them a bit snug as they break in very nicely, or try them on in a store. I normally wear a 10 or 10.5, but in these I wear a 9.

There is nothing cuter, or longer wearing than a pair of Converse on a kid. They run big. I wish they came in more colors for the sale price.
