I've been wearing New Balance shoes for years as they are one of the only brands I've found to consistently fit my feet. I ordered a 10.5 4E (extra wide). They fit a little bit more snug than my old 473 model, but I'm sure that will change with time. These shoes have nice support and are great for all around walking, either in the city or for a day hike. Recommended!

UPDATE: it took about a week or two for these to fully break in, but now they are super comfortable. The durability of the shoe has held up well overall, especially on the outside, but it does show noticeable wear on the inside. For the price, though, absolutely no complaints here!

Only thing that's a little annoying is the fact they're a little TOO good at shedding heat, NOT a pair of shoes you want to wear when it's really cold out. Also, rain goes right through the mesh on top, but hey, other than those two minor inconveniences (which are the only reason I didn't give 5 stars), everything else about them is perfect.

I am a pretty tough grader on stuff like this and have nothing to lose or gain in any of my reviews. We have had a lot of snow and subsequent ice in our area over the last month. My street and drive are ice covered at least 1-2 inches thick and then it melts on top of the ice and it is impossible to stand up. I purchased the Yaktrax and let me tell you, they are worth every penny. I did not get the Pro model because I didn't know if I would like them. When I first got them I tied to go for a walk down the driveway with my regular New Balance running shoes (no Yaktrax) and could barely stand up... Kept sliding without even walking. Went back in the house and put the Yaktrax over my running shoes and went back outside. I was able to walk across the ice like it wasn't even there. I felt like I probably could run on the ice if I wanted, but didn't want to push it. I don't know how the Yaktrax will be in deep snow, but then you probably wouldn't need them there anyway. But on ice, they are super! I read some previous reviews that said they had problems with breakage. I make sure that the rubber bands are pulled high up onto the shoe and try to have the rubber bands on the bottom go between any grooves that I have on the bottom of the shoe. This is a long winded review to a low cost item but I wanted to make sure it gets the review that it deserves.

Having had two pairs myself and having gifted another four pairs, I can say that Yaktrax Walkers are a good idea but one poorly executed. Spiral wires are held in place by a frame of elasticized plastic. The plastic is quite fragile and the problem occurs because the wires aren't long enough to cover the entire expanse of the shoe's sole (which would prevent chafing of the plastic with the roadway). Too soon the plastic chafes and breaks never a full winter of use, in my experience. Before they chafe through, they are excellent. I would recommend that anyone ignoring my review, pay the extra that the Pro model costs because sooner or later you will almost certainly walk out of the standard (strapless) model and lose it before you know that it's gone.

in an othewise mighty cold first year in Ohio after moving here from Calif. Snow, sleet, ice nothing could stop me (or my wife) when we slipped the yaktrax over our admittedly wimpy warm weather shoes. Even tromping up and down our 45 degree slope driveway covered in ice at 9 degrees was slipless.

Oh yeah, and at 60 years old, you start paying attention to these sorts of things.

Yaktrax's are unbeatable. They give the greatest traction in all icy conditions. I run a high mountain camp and have tried many ice traction devises. In icy conditions, CAUTION, is always the most important factor, no matter what the devise. In walking indoors all devises can be hazardous, it depends on the care you use while walking. My staff and I have used Yaktrax's for years. For inside staff, regular Yaktrax's are the best. They put them on to walk from their cabin or car to the office and pop them off once inside. For my outside staff, the Yaktrax Pro's can't be beat. They are rugged and don't ware out. The strap over the front of the boot keeps them in place in most situations. When coming inside it is best and easiest to slip the boots off and to step into indoor shoes. For long Life take a little time when putting "Trax's" on, make sure they slip into the grooves in the soles of the boots and if the end of a spring starts to catch, use a pair of pliers to squeeze it back into place. The Yaktrax Pro's I have on now have lasted me for three years and counting.

This product is okay on packed snow, but it tends to fall off your foot, especially in unpacked snow. I wasted a lot of time hunting for them again and again, so I got a size smaller to see if that would solve the problem, but then they broke after just a few uses from being stretched too much. In addition, the coils do not grip well on smooth ice and makes walking on hard floors a real slip-and-fall hazard if you forget to take them off when entering a home or business. I switched to Get-A-Grip ice cleats and have found them to be much safer on both packed snow and ice.

They look exactly like the images and are extremely comfortable as well as durable. I have been wearing them a lot recently as I have begun a life change and am trying all new workouts and although they are described as running shoes, I have found they stand up to almost any exercise activity.

This shoe is also really bright and colorful and is on trend with the styles that are popular right now. The shoe also fit perfectly and the sizing is true to what size you would normally be.

I've worn Asics for years, and these feel better than ever. They're lighter than older models, but still supportive. I've worn them for moderate long runs and mostly cross-training and weightlifting. I feel like I can do demanding athletic activities, but still wear them around town without feeling like a complete dork. The colors are fresh and fun, and not too girly.

I converted from Saucany to Asics last year & never looked back. (This is my 4th pair.) I have high arches & this shoes hugs them well. They aren't as cushiony as the Gel Blur33, but its a trail shoe & not a road kick. The shoe has great tread, but not overly aggressive that it's impeding running on the road. I ran 7 road miles in them the other day & they were fine. I also wore them in a 20 mile cycling event & they were good for that too.

Ladies, the colors are great, gets the attention you want, but not overly in your face that you need sunglasses to view them. You can everyday wear them just for the look alone.

When I first tried on these shoes I loved them super comfy, plus they're cute. I will also mention that the insole of one of the shoes was bent, probably like that from the manufacturer, so it made that shoe feel a little off. The interchangeable system they have is really nice. So, I wore them to class... I really do like the softer soles, but the shoe rubbed the back of my ankles raw. Unfortunately I was stuck in them until I could go back to my car to change into my other sneakers. I gave my ankles some time to heal, then tried them with a different insole. The thickest ones are the most comfortable and rub my heel the least, but after walking for less than ten minutes I can feel the backs of my heels getting raw. Also, I was wearing them with socks that covered my ankles every time I've tried these shoes.

Bottom line they're comfy if you're going to sit and not walk. The soles of the shoe, as well as the interchangeable insoles, are nice, but the design of the shoe just wasn't working for me. I've never had a problem with new shoes rubbing the back of my ankles raw. I'm so disappointed! I thought I would love these shoes. I would NOT recommend this particular shoe, though I am thinking about giving another goLite shoe a try.

EDIT:

For reference, I have narrow heels, a borderline wide forefoot, and very high arches. I have since switched to barefoot shoes (Merrell) and have had no problems.

After reading other reviews, I ordered these shoes a half size larger. I have a wide 6.5 foot, so bought a 7. They fit perfectly. I first tried them with a good low cut sport sock--they felt snug and they did not rub the back of my ankle--I have problems with the backs of athletic shoes hitting me too high on the heel/ankle. However, when I wore them to work with a regular cotton pant sock, they rubbed the back of my heel high up. They key for me is to either insert a thin heel support/cushion or wear a thicker sock. I also wear orthotics , though not all the time, so the removable insert was a plus and the raised heel took care of the rubbing problem when wearing a thinner sock.

The shoe overall is terrific and I plan to get another pair in orange. I love, love, love the lime green! Because these shoes are a beautiful leather, I can wear them to work (in an office as we can dress business casual).

Before making my decision to buy GoLites, I had seen a YouTube video on how GoLites are made differently with the cushion on the bottom of the shoe and a firmer footbed against your foot which gives more stability on uneven surfaces. I have found this to be true and why I can't wait to buy a second pair! Highly recommend. They do come with additional inserts for the perfect fit but I did need/use them.

I ordered these shoes hoping they would help my bunions since they have the adjustable insoles to change the forefoot volume. So far they have not been quite as great for that as I hoped, but because they are leather I'm hoping they will stretch a little over time, and overall they are comfortable shoes. If not for the bunion, which is me not the shoes, they would be nearly perfect. My only complaint is that the heel seems a little low and I wish they came up just a bit higher on the back of my ankle. Otherwise they are very comfy everyday sneakers. I would not use them for hiking like it suggests you can, they don't seem quite sturdy or supportive enough for that, but they're good for walking my dog and just everyday wear.

Purchased these boots from a well-known hiking product store (has 3 initials, starts with an R).

Was absolutely thrilled with the fit, the springiness, the hardiness of these boots. Wore them right out of the box without any problems. No complaints.

I live way out in middle of low desert (16 miles in on a dirt road. And, although i don't hike daily

i do spend a lot of time outside--gardening, walking dogs, horse-back riding (i really don't recommend these for that), and modifying the desert surrounding my house.

Three years after purchase the soles on the Asolos both separated from the boot--i mean at the same time. Was i ever upset! The uppers are in great condition!

Prior to purchasing the Asolo's i bought a pair of Merrell's Avian. The exact thing happened to them. I paid $60 the Merrells but $200+ for the Asolos. Use on both was about the same and they both lasted about the same amount of time.

Is is just me or are boots not being made the way they used to?

I have finally found the perfect shoe for Spartan racing. These shoes are rigid enough to use on stump walking and rock climbing, light enough to make you forget they're there and do not hold much water compared to regular sneakers or hiking/trail running shoes. In addition the cleated sole provides grip in just about any weather or terrain. I am not an astronaut.

These are definitely not for pavement running, but are way more flexible and comfortable in terrain running than you would find with football or soccer cleats. look no further spartan racers, this is THE shoe for obstacle races. I am still not an astronaut.

The performance of the MudClaw 265 is amazing. You will not slip or slide. The grip and feel of this shoe is the best I have used. I know if you look at the rubber spikes this comment should be a given but theses shoes are not designed for running on hard surfaces!

I paid about $33 for these shoes, so, for that price I am very happy. I have bought plenty of Columbia shoes in the past, so I knew to size up one size, from my normal Women's 11 to Women's 12, which fit just fine in length. However, they are a bit on the wide side as compared to past Columbia trail running shoes I've owned, and I have a narrow-ish foot, so that is not ideal.

I replaced the factory insoles with custom footbeds, and that makes all the difference, as the factory insoles are very thin and unsupportive (as is expected). They have great traction for running on the trails near my house, which are often very slippery with a lot of exposed roots (I live in Seattle). I'm happy with these shoes for the price, but the wideness could be a concern for folks with narrow feet.

This is my 5th or 6th pair of Reebok Premier. They have a lot of support and cushion. They are a heavier shoe, so I wouldn't recommned if you like very light running shoes. I need the stability and cushion because I run on my toes a lot. I highly recommend for a stability shoe!
