When I first tried on these shoes I loved them super comfy, plus they're cute. I will also mention that the insole of one of the shoes was bent, probably like that from the manufacturer, so it made that shoe feel a little off. The interchangeable system they have is really nice. So, I wore them to class... I really do like the softer soles, but the shoe rubbed the back of my ankles raw. Unfortunately I was stuck in them until I could go back to my car to change into my other sneakers. I gave my ankles some time to heal, then tried them with a different insole. The thickest ones are the most comfortable and rub my heel the least, but after walking for less than ten minutes I can feel the backs of my heels getting raw. Also, I was wearing them with socks that covered my ankles every time I've tried these shoes.

Bottom line they're comfy if you're going to sit and not walk. The soles of the shoe, as well as the interchangeable insoles, are nice, but the design of the shoe just wasn't working for me. I've never had a problem with new shoes rubbing the back of my ankles raw. I'm so disappointed! I thought I would love these shoes. I would NOT recommend this particular shoe, though I am thinking about giving another goLite shoe a try.

For reference, I have narrow heels, a borderline wide forefoot, and very high arches. I have since switched to barefoot shoes (Merrell) and have had no problems.

I am exchanging for a larger size since they were snug.

These are very well constructed with the support and styling of a good hiking shoe.

The toe of this shoe was hard because of the amount of rubber covering the toe of the shoe. The inside had very little cushion and the shoe was overall not very flexible. Loved the color and design, but sent shoes back.

After reading other reviews, I ordered these shoes a half size larger. I have a wide 6.5 foot, so bought a 7. They fit perfectly. I first tried them with a good low cut sport sock--they felt snug and they did not rub the back of my ankle--I have problems with the backs of athletic shoes hitting me too high on the heel/ankle. However, when I wore them to work with a regular cotton pant sock, they rubbed the back of my heel high up. They key for me is to either insert a thin heel support/cushion or wear a thicker sock. I also wear orthotics , though not all the time, so the removable insert was a plus and the raised heel took care of the rubbing problem when wearing a thinner sock.

The shoe overall is terrific and I plan to get another pair in orange. I love, love, love the lime green! Because these shoes are a beautiful leather, I can wear them to work (in an office as we can dress business casual).

Before making my decision to buy GoLites, I had seen a YouTube video on how GoLites are made differently with the cushion on the bottom of the shoe and a firmer footbed against your foot which gives more stability on uneven surfaces. I have found this to be true and why I can't wait to buy a second pair! Highly recommend. They do come with additional inserts for the perfect fit but I did need/use them.

I ordered these shoes hoping they would help my bunions since they have the adjustable insoles to change the forefoot volume. So far they have not been quite as great for that as I hoped, but because they are leather I'm hoping they will stretch a little over time, and overall they are comfortable shoes. If not for the bunion, which is me not the shoes, they would be nearly perfect. My only complaint is that the heel seems a little low and I wish they came up just a bit higher on the back of my ankle. Otherwise they are very comfy everyday sneakers. I would not use them for hiking like it suggests you can, they don't seem quite sturdy or supportive enough for that, but they're good for walking my dog and just everyday wear.
