Been using these for lightweight backpacking (~30 pack weight) and loving the fit. After 8 miles on the trail, the feet still feel good. The fit is as expect (size 13) and good for large volume feet.

Inov-8 Trailroc 235 Trail Running Shoe Reviews

Fantastic Shoes. I have never ordered shoes online before so I was concerned about the fit. They fit perfectly. I ordered a half size bigger than my everyday shoes. The fit is snug without any discomfort spots when I run. Some online reviewers noted that the 0 drop thin sole is still fairly sensitive on the ground. It is, but there is still a fair bit of protection from the terrain. The aggressive grip is perfect for both offroad and asphalt running. The toe box is roomy without being sloppy, and the fit across my instep is comfortable. I would definitely order more Inov-8 shoes.
-A fairly flat foot position with minimal heel rise.
-Sole thickness is a good balance of protection and ground feel for longer distances over rough terrain.
-Reinforced mesh body to the seam of the sole, ought to offer good drainage
-Two layer toe cap to protect from wear and bumps
The meh:
-Toe box is wider than most Inov-8 models, but still pretty narrow by minimalist standards. Not much room to move the piggies around.
The bad:
-Runs about a half to full size small (in the larger sizes at least). Compared my Trailroc 235 size 15 to three other brands and it is up to 1/2" shorter. Going to have to return them.
Sum:
If you don't mind a moderate toe box, this could be a good distance trail running shoe, but be aware you may have to try a few different sizes.
I completely wore out a pair of Trail Gloves, the shoes fit my feet and needs well, but have very little grip. I really wanted a pair of Trail Gloves with an aggressive sole. The 235s have great tread and are 0-drop, but let me down otherwise.
The sole is hard and durable, starting to show wear. But hard is less flexible. The harder sole and moderate cushion combined with the upper construction feel like a big piece of rubber strapped to my foot. The shoe and sole never really move with my feet.
The grip is really where these things shine. They are average on wet rock and wood, but do great in mud or a wet forest floor. The midsoles allow you to feel the rocks and ground underneath, but are thick enough to handle sharp rocky descents without problem.
The upper is fairly well made. The toe cover only protects the upper, and quickly pulls up but remains in place. Last week I noticed a tear in the side of the upper along the plastic overlays. This is somewhat common. Still, the shoe is 500 miles of technical trail old, and not harmed by the small tear.
I must wear socks with these shoes, and kept the thin insert. Without those, the opening rubs against my ankle bone and causes a blister. The little extra height provided by the sock and insert completely resolve the issue.
The shoe drains well in the water; I've forded a number of creeks. The shoes gain only a bit of weight, and do not slosh.
4 STARS. It's a good shoe. It's minimal, but not overly. It has a great tread, especially for being minimal. The hard sole wears well. I will not buy a second pair; I want something more minimal and that fits and moves with my foot far better. And the grippy 235 sole!
Zero drop takes a bit to adjust to. Would be excellent on a short trail race.
Drainage is also good. I've been using it in winter in NZ and impressed by how quickly it feels dry after getting wet.

I've worn this shoe for ~500miles now, it's my current go to trail shoe. I run fairly technical, often muddy trails around Chapel Hill, NC; lots of roots, some rocks big and small, a few hills, and mud. These shoes replaced a pair of Merrell Trail Gloves, but probably compare more closely with my secondary shoes, Merrell Mix Master II (see my review: Merrell Mix Master 2 Minimalist Running Shoe Men's), though without the drop and better grip.I completely wore out a pair of Trail Gloves, the shoes fit my feet and needs well, but have very little grip. Honest reviews on Inov-8 Trailroc 235 Trail Running Shoe
Good traction, very comfortable, wide enough, and doesn't dig into the ankles or achilles... However, the black portion covering the toe isn't glued down well and a small portion has started to separate from the shoe (on both feet, same place). Regardless, I don't think it will even come close to falling apart, so it's not a major problem. I would buy again.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Inov-8 Trailroc 235 Trail Running Shoe

Hi-Tec Men's Altitude IV Hiking Boot Reviews

These have been great boots. I am on my fourth pair of the Altitude seriesa version I, version II, and now 2 version IVs. All have been good buys for me. The version IV have been the best but all have been good.
First, I have a high arch and have always been hard on any footwear with a tendency to walk on the 'outside' of my foot. I wear these boots to travel in and work in while traveling. Many a mile in airports, many miles on concrete, gravel, dirt, and inside simulation facilities. When I travel I tend to only take these boots my work rarely requires dress clothes, the boots look good in an open collar work environment, they are comfortable, and taking only 1 pair of shoes does cuts down on packing requirements quite a bit for longer trips (3 weeks or longer in duration).
I have taken these boots on three overseas trips they did well in the Scottish highlands (twice), and London. They did equally well on the beaches of Hawaii, Myrtle Beach, and Cancun. They have done me well in wet and sand hot and cold.
To add to this endorsement, not only am I hard on shoes I am also quite fat these days topping 300 pounds. For my health I maintain a walking routine of 1-3 miles a day whenever possible. When I travel, these boots are also my walking shoes.
In general Hi Tec have always fit me well. I go back 40 or so years to wearing the Lite series of Hi Tecs while I was in my running the Appalachians days. Given my high arches, a tendency for very bad calluses, rebuilt right ankle, 2 knees that varied doctors have wanted to cut on since early Army days, and now my weight I am very picky on shoes. These are the best of the Hi Tec boot types that I have found.
I suspect I have seen the best of my current set of boots maybe six more months or so of regular wear till they become yard work shoes till their final demise. I have never worn out the uppers in these boots. I have worn the sole down to a smooth surface and worn out the insides (after using new insole inserts a couple of times). They are tough boots.
And I have a back up pair ready to take the place of the current set.
On a down side, these style of boots (in general, not just Hi Tec) are not sturdy enough for doing squats in Power Lifting circles. One needs a higher and stiffer boot than what the modern ilk of hikers provides. This is the only limitation I have found for these boots.
Recently on a trip to western North Carolina, I went hiking with a group of friends from the area. I soon found that my best New Balance shoes were not up to the task: the terrain soon overwhelmed them, and as the day went on, their ability to support my 200 lb. body failed. By the end of the day, my feet hurt so bad that I could barely walk. I was told that I absolutely needed to find a good pair of hiking boots if I was going to continue hiking.
I am one of those people who first do a lot of research before I make a new purchase, comparing features, price, availability, technical reviews, and feedback from those who have already made their choice. In the price range I was looking for, the signs all pointed to Hi-Tech. Lots of folks carried them, but Amazon's price was clearly the best. And so, tentatively, I ordered a pair.
I have now been wearing these boots for three months, and I have yet to put my New Balance back on for everyday use. I still wear business shoes to work, and the New Balance to run in, but the Hi-Tech Altitude IVs are absolutely my favorite. Why?
1. The fit was perfect from the first time I put them on. In fact, I would have to say my feet felt better in them almost immediately. The width was exactly as I needed, and the arch was just high enough to give me full support for a full day and still enable me to do everything I need.
2. They needed no "break-in period" and felt right from the first time I wore them. Even the desert boots I wore in the Middle East needed some period to adjust to my feet and to the way I walk, and the steel-toed work boots I bought from Wal-Mart still hurt my feet (after occasional wear for over a year). But these feel like an extension of my feet and skin.
3. They are waterproof, yet still allow my feet to breathe. Even my kids no longer run out of the room when I take my boots off (which used to be a regular joke around my house).
4. They seem to be wearing like iron. After three months, I cannot see any wear at all, not even negligible amounts. So I won't be buying another pair for a while.
All in all, these boots have my STRONGEST recommendation. You may find more costly boots, but I challenge you to find any that are significantly better.
The shoe runs both small and narrow (even though i ordered a wide).
FYIif that happens and you have to return itYou will have to pay for the return shipping to amazon

I have wide feet and somewhat high arches, which has made finding really good shoes for general wear somewhat difficult. And for that reason, I have stuck with New Balance shoes since my undergraduate days. They are well made, and have versions designed for various activities, including running, cross-training, and walking. And very importantly, they come in widths other than "medium," and provide the maximum benefit to my feet.Recently on a trip to western North Carolina, I went hiking with a group of friends from the area. these are great for "barefoot" style running. nice and flat. take the inserts out to really feel the ground. they feel so light, almost like you are wearing heavy socks. been running in them for a month so far and love them.
i think they either run about a half size too small or the front of the shoe is rather narrow because my feet are taking some time to get used to them. you might want to consider going up a half size.
Makes you think back to the good old days when shoes were just a piece of rubber and cloth laced up over your feet! Who needs air cushioning, wave gel, super technology?

The shoe is nice and light, very comfortable and makes you feel like an agile ninja. Be warned though, the lightness comes with a price. The nylon on the shoe is very light weight and I blew the toe out after the 1st time playing Frisbee.Best Deals on Saucony Originals Men's Bullet Sneaker
these are great looking and light but are not designed for any real running activity. if you're buying these for running, you're making a mistake. they are mostly thin nylon and probably should be worn as fashion shoes only.i think they either run about a half size too small or the front of the shoe is rather narrow because my feet are taking some time to get used to them. you might want to consider going up a half size.

Nice looking shoes and I love the way they feel. But mine also started ripping after the first few weeks. After 3 months of normal wear (mostly walking around town), my right show is totally destroyed.Review of AVIA Women's A5015W

These are very comfortable shoes. They have a roomy toe box which I like since my feet are borderline wide and these provide ample, but not too much, room for my toes. They are true to size and I love that they are so lightweight. Most of my previous athletic shoes have been heavier and these are a refreshing change. Would buy again in fact, I bought a second pair since I liked these so much.

They work well, but I'm disappointed by how "airy" the tops of the shoes are. While it helps cool the feet in summer, my feet are downright cold in the fall and winter.Best Deals on AVIA Women's A5015W
Great all around shoes. Good looking and very comfortable. Very nice quality at a very good price. Have to add other words or the review will not go through. Too bad, as it may deter others from writing a quick and pointed review.Honest reviews on AVIA Women's A5015W
Very comfortable shoe. If you have very narrow feet, you may need to add some type of extra gel insole for extra cushioning in about six months as the regular insoles wear down. However, still a very comfortable shoe for running or any type of exercise you do daily.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for AVIA Women's A5015W
The sneakers are comfortable but they are peeling already. They look much older than what they are because of this. The shoe itself is extremely comfortable but the workmanship is shoddy so I am not sure they will last too long. I have had many Avias before and this is the first time this has happened.Best New Balance Men's MT411 Running Shoe Deals

I've been wearing New Balance shoes for years as they are one of the only brands I've found to consistently fit my feet. I ordered a 10.5 4E (extra wide). They fit a little bit more snug than my old 473 model, but I'm sure that will change with time. These shoes have nice support and are great for all around walking, either in the city or for a day hike. Recommended!
UPDATE: it took about a week or two for these to fully break in, but now they are super comfortable. The durability of the shoe has held up well overall, especially on the outside, but it does show noticeable wear on the inside. For the price, though, absolutely no complaints here!

This purchase was just a purchase to replace the old ones. Nothing really to say other than they are the only shoes I buy.Honest reviews on New Balance Men's MT411 Running Shoe
Only thing that's a little annoying is the fact they're a little TOO good at shedding heat, NOT a pair of shoes you want to wear when it's really cold out. Also, rain goes right through the mesh on top, but hey, other than those two minor inconveniences (which are the only reason I didn't give 5 stars), everything else about them is perfect.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for New Balance Men's MT411 Running Shoe
These are nothing new, and that is what I needed. That said, the sneakers lost a star because they are not US manufacture like the last pair that was pretty much the same. I would like the sellers to tell where they are made because it influences my choices. Still, product quality is consistent.Saucony Little Kid/Big Kid Grid Fusion Running Shoe Reviews

Then my 10 year old put mine on and he wanted a pair so now we are the saucony family. I also were cros and I have to tell you my sauconys are more comfortable.

I've been wearing Saucony Shadow sneakers for over 25 years. They give great support, they're attractive, and there are a variety of colors available. The quality was better 25 years ago, but now they're about the best for me. I stockpile them for fear of the day when they are no longer available. If they were still made in the USA instead of in China, maybe they'd go back to their original quality. I still give them "five stars" because it's a problem with all sneakers and shoes made in China instead of the US.

I wore the shoes for almost a week. Normal everyday walking, never even got a chance to run in them. The internal lining began curling at the instep which was very uncomfortable. I would reach down and unroll it by the end of the week it was roled up about a half inch and hurting too bad to wear. The insert was removable and I suppose I will go purchase some gels. Otherwise the fit was good and received several complements on the really cool colors. Not sure if the rest of the shoe will hold up especially with runningwhich I plan on. They are really light however and breath very well. Since both shoes did the exact same thing, I doubt this was just a fluke. I really hate that I paid this much as usually I get Asics Nimbus or Kyano for the same price and they hold up for 2-3 years before I just buy a new pair simply so they look better.Cheap True Power Electric Shoe Shine Polisher with Lamb Wool Buffers

I am very pleased with this product. It is compact, but still powerful enough to produce the shine just like it's larger professional models. Perfect for a discrete small area within a home.
The operation of it, when turned on, is extremely quite. This, despite the high RPMs it achieves. I would recommend this product for anyone looking for that traditional shoe shine; with minamal effort as the goal.
Thanks, Amazon, for guiding me to this product. Champion Grade for both!

This product works fine, I was expecting a more powerful motor like those I have used in high end rest rooms. Not a bad product if you don't stall the motor, but have to watch how much pressure is applied to the buffer.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for True Power Electric Shoe Shine Polisher with Lamb Wool Buffers
Bought this and took it to work because I couldn't find a place that seemed right at home. Immediately the device went to work for every member of our staff. It works early, it works late, fascinating to watch employees dancing around on the pole while they shine their shoes. It really gets used here. The motor definitely has a work out. The purpose of a good shine is to allow it to lightly shine and not bury your shoe into the buffer. The motor lags if you do shove it hard and you can cause the windings to wear out but with all the use this one has had it stayed running.Saucony Women's Grid Excursion TR 5 Trail Running Shoe Review

I bought these running shoes mainly for off-road running on bare, uneven, dirt and grass tracks. They are rugged and comfortable footwear.
PROS:
The footbed is lightly padded and comfortable enough to wear all day.
These running shoes provide extra support if you have feet with high arches.
The midsoles actually enhance shock absorption for a springy step while running on paved tracks.
Goodbye lower backaches! :))
The textured rubber outer sole helps you keep your grip even on uneven, uphill dirt tracks.
The breathable mesh material keeps your feet comfortably cool and dry during your workout.
I bought the silver/gray/green colorway. Gray sneakers hide dirt well! :))
CONS:
Actually this is a NOTE:
I typically wear a size 10 in most shoes, but these shoes run a bit smaller. I ordered a 10.5 and they fit fine.
I highly recommend these shoes for brisk walking, hiking and running on paved surfaces, as well as uneven dirt tracks. These Saucony sneakers are both comfortable and stylish. You can even wear them as casual footwear with your favorite jeans.
Your feet will thank you! :))

I was not particularly happy with these shoes. I am an avid runner, and I always wear Saucony. I have wide toes and a narraw heel, so generally speaking, I prefer I a wider shoe, but this shoe was wide through the arch and my foot flopped around in it. If you're someone with a wide arch, this might be a good shoe for you. If not, I might look instead to the TR3.Best Deals on Saucony Women's Grid Excursion TR 5 Trail Running Shoe
I have tried every major brand of sneaker on the market over the years and accidentally stumbled upon this Saucony shoe 2 years ago when I was experiencing aching legs and sore heels. I will NEVER waste my money on another brand. I have had the same pair for 2 years (I'm a mom of three young children, I wear them everywhere!) and other than the day to day dirt and grime, there is not a thing wrong with them and they are still my favorite pair of shoes! If you are on the fence about Saucony, go into a shoe store and try them, then try the other major brands; you can feel the difference immediately!Honest reviews on Saucony Women's Grid Excursion TR 5 Trail Running Shoe
I had a pair of Saucony's that I used to run my first and only marathon in 2007. I trained in them, ran the marathon in them and then wore them for work (healthcare) for the following 4 years. They held up like no other shoe I have ever owned. I just bought this particular Saucony shoe and once again, I am thoroughly impressed. It fits my foot so comfortably. A lot of other brands I have tried have caused knee pain and hip pain. These shoes don't. I have officially found my signature brand of shoe. I will always buy Saucony. Always.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Saucony Women's Grid Excursion TR 5 Trail Running Shoe
Saucony is one of the best shoe companies for anyone with high arches (i know. i work in a shoe store) IF you get the correct style. I'd never tried this one on, but i liked the colors so i thought i'd give it a shot. I'm sending these back (or else giving them away, i haven't decided yet), but it's no big deal.., I have a tough time finding running shoes that work in the first place (high arches, high instep, and tendonitis in one ankle)!! Highly recommend anything by saucony if looking for new workout shoes!!!Reviews of Columbia Sportswear Men's Peakfreak Low Hiking Shoe

These hiking shoes are very light, waterproof and most importantly comfortable. I am a BK amputee and shoes are so crucial for me on both my sound side and affected side. Columbia continues to make some of the lightest yet most durable shoes I have used. My last pair went 3 years of heavy use. I fully expect these to do the same. Not to mention the chili/grey color is very attractive.
Overall the description of this shoe tells you just what you are getting. A fantastic shoe!!!

I will keep purchasing Mountrek running shoes because they are SO good! Didn't know this brand existed until I found at our local Belk's, who no longer has Mountrek running shoes.

Ordered these as a gift and the sizing is way off. Far too big, but now I don't know what to order? One size down? Two sizes down" GBX has terribly inconsistent sizing. They look ok. I will update this review when I get a size that fits.
This is the exact style of shoe I want, perfect in every way, but the sizing is just way off. Can not recommend this to anyone unless they have a comically long really thin foot.

order two full sizes smaller. their measurement is way off. i'm size 12, but i ordered 10,5 and was still a little bit biggish, but comfortable.Honest reviews on GBX Men's 09121
I had to return the ones ordered. I had ordered a 10.5 which is my size but they were at least a 1/2 size to large. I did not reorder because the next size down was not available. Also I just think they would have also been an issue and wasn't going to waste any more time on it.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for GBX Men's 09121
I I did not heed the warning of the only review here, but i should have. This boot, while reasonable well constructed and nice looking, was so so long in the toe. And not in a "just order a size smaller way." I ordered a 10.5 (I'm usually an 11) and it was very snug, but the boot extends literally 5-6 inches beyond where my toes are. It looks like a clown shoe when you wear it.This is the exact style of shoe I want, perfect in every way, but the sizing is just way off.
