Best Deals on New Balance Men's M1300 Day Tripper Classic Running Shoe

I purchased the M1300 Day Tripper Classic because I like the New Balance brand, and LOVE that the shoes are mainly produced in the USA. When I received the product, my admittedly high expectations were not met. The comfort of the shoe is average. If I were to compare this product to another pair of New Balance that I have worn (the NEW BALANCE Running Shoes M990GL3), the comfort level is much lower, and the fit is not the same either. Although BOTH pairs were made in America, the M1300 are not made with the same quality, as the inner sole in one shoe has already come out, after only wearing the shoes 3 times. The price tag in the shoes is also NOT forgiving. Also the Day Tripper was only 30 dollars more than the aforementioned other pair I had purchased previously, 150 dollars for shoes is expensive. I expected the product to be excellent, and it was not. Therefore, I would NOT recommend this product. Honestly, I would like to return it, but am unsure if I am able, since they have been worn outside.

I purchased the ProGrid Ride 3 shoes to replace my worn ProGrid Ride 2 shoes, and WOW what a difference. First off, I knew I'd experience a better run since my old shoes were... well... old and worn out. I was starting to get some leg fatigue after about 13 minutes into my run. With the old shoes, the fit was very good, and the comfort was good, but not great. I enjoyed running in the shoes, but would occasionally experience a little difficulty in how they fit my foot.

With the updated model, I have to say I'm ecstatic about my runs. I find myself having absolutely no fatigue even as I'm approaching 60 minutes at a steady 6 mph pace. It's like running on a cushion of foam! Note, these are designed for people with a neutral gate. If you don't know what that means, your gate identifies how your foot touches the ground while you're walking... with a high arch, flat foot, or neutral. This determines the best type of shoe to provide the most comfort. Go to a running shoe store and tell them you want your gate checked... it'll save you a lot of hassle and headache!!!

Once again, I look forward to my runs!

I moved into the Saucony Men's Progrid Ride 3 Running Shoe after running for a couple of years in Saucony Progrid Triumph 4 shoes. I can't say what the difference between them is (technically speaking), perhaps the Ride 3 is a little less substantial, or maybe it has a little less padding, especially under the front part of the foot, but after a run of 5 miles or so the balls of my feet were sore, even the next day. I also noticed that the heel didn't feel totally comfortable when I walked on them either. So it looks like this may not be the best match for me. My ankles, knees, and hips were fine though, but there's something about the shoe that just didn't work for me and my feet.

FYI, my weight ranges between about 170-175 and I usually run between 15-20 miles a week, so not killer far. I have a very slight heel strike, and am a neutral runner (no pronounced pronation or suppination in my ankles). This shoe is recommended for runners under 180 lbs and who run under 25 miles a week...so it should have been a good match, but, alas, it wasn't.

It may be that I am a little heavy or the motion of my stride just isn't a good match for this shoe, so I'm now going back to the Saucony Triumph Progrid series to see how that treats me. Saucony brand shoes have treated me right so far, and The Triumph 4 was great, so I'm hoping that the Saucony Men's ProGrid Triumph 7 Running Shoe and I are a match made for running. Here's hoping.

So, at least in my experience, this shoe was probably about a 4 out of 5 stars. But for a slightly lighter runner this may be the right match. Good luck!

I've worn Asics Gel for many years but have had trouble getting "last-year's" models at decent price. Ride 3 was my alternate choice and I've been very satisfied. My size 11.5 EE fits well plenty roomy (a little more than zame-size 2170, which is good). The only "drawback" is that I get a little "sole slapping" when I shuffle just a good reminder to lift my feet!

UH-OH (8-21-2013). I have to drastically revise my review! As mentioned, I wore Asics Gel (2000/2100 models) forever, 2-3 pairs per year since the year 2000! I thought the Ride 3 matched the Gel, but now I find my Ride 3 has completely worn out after only 140 running miles. I am a heavier runner (200 lbs) and replaced the Gel every 250-300 miles, just for cushioning. But the heal of my Ride 3 is completely worn off the black "outer" material that provides motion control is gone! (This never happened on Asics.) My savings of $20-30 per pair over Asics is illusory, since the Ride 3 has lasted only half as long. My rating drops from 5 to 2.

These are fairly comfortable and lightweight. I would not consider them minimalist at all, just like regular sneakers with toe pockets as I do own several pairs of FiveFingers. They do seem to run a bit big, but I also have wide feet with short toes. The back of the heel where some stitching meets did rub my heel until it bled. I don't know if that will soften up but I suppose I could wear some toe socks.

I bought these a year ago and finally got around to using them 3 weeks ago. They are very light weight, durable, and the best part... Breathable. I thought my feet were going to sweat cuz I use them to workout in. Well... I was soooo wrong. I workout really hard and even after my whole body is soaked in sweat... My feet remain dry. They are very comfortable after u get used to the separate toe thing. It feels really natural. Better than regular shoes. I forget that I have them on sometimes. I would recommend these to workout in. However, if you are outside in woodsy areas, I wouldn't use them on those occasions because very sharp sticks and small rocks can hurt your toes or go through the sole.

Merrell Men's Trail Glove 2 Minimal Trail Running Shoe Review

About two years ago I learned about barefoot running and minimalist shoes, and that was when I purchased the original Trail Glove which I adored. I pretty much wore nothing but that shoe, which is probably why I wore a hole through the sole about six months ago.

I was pretty upset about wearing a hole through such an expensive shoe, especially so quickly. That was the major reason why I held off on buying the Trail Glove 2 for six months. I tried wearing a european shoe I had that was somewhat minimalist for most of my non-athletic activities. I still used my Trail Glove 1 for going to the gym (to lift weights mostly). But with spring coming, I felt that I was going to want to run outside again, and moreover I was really missing the feel of the barefoot shoe in my day-to-day.

So I buckled, and decided to buy the TG2, and after about a month of use I couldn't really be happier with the shoe. It's pretty much everything the TG1 was, with some improvements.

Namely, the TG2 is much more comfortable to wear without a sock than the TG1 was. The TG1 had some interior seams that rubbed and irritated the skin. The TG2 has some seams, and they irritated me the first day. I'm not sure if my feet just got used to it, or if the seams just got worn down a bit from frequent use, but now I can wear the shoes barefoot without any complaints.

Another thing is they have done a pretty good job and making the shoes less smelly. I bought my TG1 shoes along with a friend of mine, and I quickly gave up wearing them without a sock because they quickly started to stink. My friend however, stuck with no-socks, and her shoes smell terrible. Now, I wear about 50/50 sock and no-sock, but the shoes still smell fresh and nice. Even if they eventually start to smell (which they surely will) I can live with throwing the shoes into the washer every month or so. With the TG1 I would have had to do weekly, maybe even daily, washes to keep them smelling alright.

I think part of the improvement with the smell is that the shoes breathe a lot better now, and so your feet sweat less. I do make sure to wear a sock when I run though, so keep that in mind.

Overall, if you liked your TG1, you'll probably love your TG2. My only hope if that these last longer than my TG1s, if they wear out prematurely I'll update my review.

The sizing on these shoes are normal. I love not having to wear socks with them. They are a super lightweight shoe and fit like a glove to your foot. I would definitely recommend these to anyone wanting to switch to a minimalist running shoe. I own 4 pairs of the Merrell Barefoot shoes, and these by far have been my favorite. They are more comfortable on the inside than the original Trail Glove, Original Road Glove, and the Sonic Glove.

My wife had used the TG for some time and so have a few friends. When the time came for a new set of hiking boots for day hikes I opted to try the minimalist shoes due to everyone saying I should. Picked up a pair at a 4th of July sale and haven't put anything on my feet since the day I got these, work, around the house, hiking, everything. Very happy with the purchase and will be going with barefoot style shoes from here on out excluding cases where a dress shoe is mandatory for work which luckily for me is only about once a month.

No issues with or without socks so far (IE: no blisters / raw spots / smell / etc). Transition from my hiking boots to these was easy, no ankle support issues or aches in my legs which I was told to expect at the beginning.

These seem to have helped my posture when walking, doesn't feel like a lean forward as much.

Already looking forward to purchasing a second pair since I like these so much.

I've been running in Merrell trail gloves for a couple of years now. Needing a new pair, I opted for the latest model. I like them a lot more than other brands I've tried, but not as much as the last pair I had. The reason? Well, I can't wear them without socks because te design from the outside of the shoe rubs in against my foot and makes a blister. But as long as I wear them with socks, they're nice.

Ash sneakers are very expensive so, if you have a chance to try before you buy, you should.

As an ex-owner of a pair of Ash'es, I can say this: they are stylish, they are of above average quality, they are expensive, and they run narrow. I'm 8.5 M/B, and bought my Ash'es in size 39, which is roughly translated as 8.5, sometimes as 9, depends which conversion chart you happen to look at. So, the sneakers should fit...

They did not.

Lengthwise, I found them to be just over half size too long, but in width they felt like an N (Narrow), and I could not comfortably wear them for any length of time. They are leather, and I tried shoe stretchers, repeatedly but, each time, the stretch lasted for a very short time before the shoes reverted back to their original width. This says a lot about the good quality of leather they stretch but then they "bounce back", but, since they do not stay stretched, I was unable to enjoy them, and gave them away.

It might have been a defect in the shoes I had purchased but the inside ankle on the left shoe was extremely tight and ended up digging into my ankle and leaving a blister within the first twenty minutes of wear.

Besides the ankle issue, the sole of the shoe was extremely flat and hard. I stand on my feet all day at work and ended up swapping shoes thirty minutes into my shift because they were uncomfortable.

These were my first pair of NB and I'm very satisfied with them!

I couldn't find these any where at where I live (Singapore) so I had to buy them online. I was pretty worried about the size but I went ahead to get a US 8 (UK 6) which was the size of my Nikes. When it finally came, it fit perfectly. I guess you don't have to worry that it'll deviate a lot from your other shoe brand sizes since it's true to size.

New Balance shoes are also slightly wider in width than my other shoes, which meant better comfort for me.

The colour was great, the blue was super bright and neon-y!

I'M SUPER IN LOVE WITH MY SHOES RIGHT NOW I CAN HUG THEM TO BED (you get the jist).

I was about to order these from another website and glad I checked Amazon first. Got them for half the price. I am a perfect 8.5 but these are a little loose in the heal. Tried thicker socks and tightened the laces and they fit fine. Look really nice. I did notice that its a little hard walking on small rocks in these but other then that they feel great. I usually wear a 9.5 in athletic shoes but these seemed a little big. They were very snug in the heel area and also did not offer very much flexibility or cushioning. The green is pretty bright! These may fit someone else perfectly. They just weren't quite what I was looking for.

It took some doing to find a comfortable waterproof walking sneaker but I finally found a pair (after a long and painful search) that fits properly and doesn't hurt my feet. These shoes were comfortable right out of the box and fit like a glove. I normally wear a 7 and these were a 7. All the other brands of Gortex hikers that I tried were too small and stiff. These are wide at the front and grip snugly at the heel. Hopefully you wont mind having clown shoes on your feet because these things are HUGE! That's the only downside. They look like clod hoppers but at this point I dont care. I just want a comfortable waterproof walking shoe and I finally found one.

FOLLOW UP:

OK, now I have worn them and have a few additional comments. The front of the shoe is quite wide and a bit sloppy; I think a heavier sock would be better. Still comfortable but I'm sloshing around a bit in the front section. The heel is still nice and snug though. I wouldn't recommend these to anyone with a narrow foot unless you can find them in a narrow width.

I have 2 pair of the NTR Seismic and love both of them. I am particularly hard to find running shoes or multiuser shoes to wear for both work (as a busy nurse in an ER) and for walking/ running. I love these shoes. They work for everything. The shoe colors are great fun as I wear scrubs and jeans to match the shoes. Most important is that the shoes are comfortable for long periods of use. I am going to stock up because these shoes will be gone soon as Merrell is constantly changing the line.
