I bought my mom a pair of these shoes 2 years ago for her birthday. I realized she was still wearing the same ones when I went to see her for Mother's Day. I told her she could pick out any new pair of sneakers she wanted. She wanted the same ones. She loves the fact that they are gore-tex lined and never has to worry about her feet getting wet. They also offer great support.

I usually wear a 9.5 in athletic shoes but these seemed a little big. They were very snug in the heel area and also did not offer very much flexibility or cushioning. The green is pretty bright! These may fit someone else perfectly. They just weren't quite what I was looking for.

It took some doing to find a comfortable waterproof walking sneaker but I finally found a pair (after a long and painful search) that fits properly and doesn't hurt my feet. These shoes were comfortable right out of the box and fit like a glove. I normally wear a 7 and these were a 7. All the other brands of Gortex hikers that I tried were too small and stiff. These are wide at the front and grip snugly at the heel. Hopefully you wont mind having clown shoes on your feet because these things are HUGE! That's the only downside. They look like clod hoppers but at this point I dont care. I just want a comfortable waterproof walking shoe and I finally found one.

FOLLOW UP:

OK, now I have worn them and have a few additional comments. The front of the shoe is quite wide and a bit sloppy; I think a heavier sock would be better. Still comfortable but I'm sloshing around a bit in the front section. The heel is still nice and snug though. I wouldn't recommend these to anyone with a narrow foot unless you can find them in a narrow width.

I wore these shoes on a 26mile hiking trip and was impressed. they have good arch support and i love how the back of the shoe cradles my heel. these shoes took a beating and are still functional
