Okay, I was very reluctant to buy a pair of flip flops for this price... but I have plantar fasciitis and want to have support and cushion for my arch and heel without giving up my summer flip flops and after researching, decided I'd give them a try. I received them only yesterday, but I can tell you already, they are well worth it. Support, comfort, and style!!!! Yay!

My only note is regarding sizing. My normal shoe size is a 6 or 6.5 depending on the shoe. I ordered a 7 after reading reviews and am glad I did. The part that goes between the toes seems to be set back way farther than it needs to be. Because of that, my heel and arch actually fit perfectly in the larger size shoe but there is about 3/4 of an inch at the front beyond my toes. If you have longer toes, these might be perfect for you. Otherwise I am perfactly thrilled and LOVE them!

This is my third pair of Montrail sandals and I have recommended it to many of my friends and family. We all enjoy the perfect fit you get after the heating process in the oven. Won't wear any other slippers. Aloha from Hawaii where we "live" in slippers...

Let me preface my review with my story. I've had plantar fascititis for several months now ... it's getting better, but my feet still hurt from time to time. I've spent a fortune trying to find a comfortable shoe I can wear for hours. I've bought two pairs of Chaco's, two pairs of Tevas, a pair of Jambu,Merrills, Clarks ... you get the picture. Nothing really worked for me.

After reading the reviews for the Montrail Molokini, I decided to take the plung and order a pair. I am so glad I did! These are the most comfortable shoes I've found in a long time. I haven't baked and shaped them, but plan to do that soon. Even without the custom fit, they are awesome. I highly recommend these to anyone in need of comfy summer sandals. I did have to order up a size (thanks to the reviews I knew I needed to) ... I usually wear an 8 or 8 1/2 and purchased the 9. They fit great!

I would highly recommend this shoe, but it is not made in the half sizes. The 6 was too small, and the 7 was too big. I really wish it came in a 6 1/2. Until then, I will have to find another brand that has the great arch support. The return and refund process was very smooth, quick, and easy.

I just received my Montrail Molokini Sandals and wore them today for the first time. They are light weight, spongy and very comfortable. I put them in the oven as suggested and molded them to my foot. I am usually a size 7 1/2 or 8 but after reading the reviews, I ordered a 7. They fit perfectly with no room to spare, but the 8 would have been too big. I will recommend them to everyone. I usually wear Fit Flops so I am use to the look. I can already tell that Montrail will be more comfortable and not as bulky looking.

After training in Saucony Kinvara for 3 months, i decided one week before a 25k trail race that i needed a heavier shoe. I ordered the Xodus 4. The new shoes came Wednesday, i put them on and went for a 6 mile road run. They fit good and felt good, so 4 days later i raced in them. 25k of some of the toughest trails in northern Pa. with no sore feet. I love these shoes. They are just right for bad trails. I will still use my Kinvaras for smoother, easier trails, but it's the Xodus for the tough ones.

First, this is my second time using a shoe from the Saucony trail running line. My first was the 2.0 version of the Xodus shoe. Style that shoe was great and I often got comments on how cool the shoe looked. But it served equally well on my outdoor trail I have created on my property. The quirks with that 2.0 shoe were the tight fit round the center of the foot, and tight in the heel more than I would have liked. The shoe eventually broke in but remained snug. This time around I made sure to order .5 size larger then the 11 I typically wear.

I am a little over six foot and weight 245 and tend to run about a 5k three days a week. I am not a serious runner but more of hobbyist and getting outdoors in nature. The trail I run is relatively flat, with tree roots and some rocks on compacted clay soil.

Putting on the Saucony 4.0 size 11.5 of this shoe I was dismayed how tight it fit even with the larger size. However, I wore them for about 20 minutes and did some test laps and they started to break in. I loosened the shoe strings and bent the shoe a few times and I felt it loosing up to a comfortable level. I am sure with a few extended runs they will be fine.

The bottom of the shoe is the most outstanding feature. There are aggressive diamond patterns in the bottom, while the exterior is rectangular "spikes." It may not be that apparent in the photo but these patterns make OUTSTANDING gripping while running. I did a quick run up and down a wet grass hillside and the traction was great. They are nearly in the realm of baseball cleats in their grip. I feel the risk of slipping is non existent. The center bottom feels very padded and has rigidity where it counts, such as running over a rocky surface. The front toe section looks to also be water resistant so going through wet grass should deflect it away from the toes.

The heel is cupped well in the rear of the shoe, while the center of the foot is gripped tightly by the pro lock mid support band. It is these two point where I feel the shoe is still a bit to tight. I think it is because I had a wider foot, a size not available in this line. I won't dock a star for this as I think it will open up a bit more with running. But if you are shopping for this shoe, I recommend .5 size larger and be prepared for breaking it in.

I think the 4.0 shoe is a great advancement of the popular 2.0 shoe. I don't feel the 4.0 shoe is as damn sexy as the predecessors ( I opted for the "Woad warpaint" blue color over the "Meh" black) but the advancements in grip and wear are worth it. So get outdoors and on the trails!

I got these for creeking in California. The slick water polished bed rock shores along steep creeks demand sticky rubber and these shoes delivered. There are 5.10 shoes that are specifically designed for this task but these were 70% off so I gave them a try. They seem to have good support for hiking in.

Within 3 weeks or less of purchasing this item the coloured parts on the bottom of the shoes (both feet) started lifting off. I have a hot glue gun that I have to break out every now and then to address another lifting part. The rest of the shoes is holding up fine though.

I have run in Brooks Adrenaline GTS road shoes for the past year. I needed a pair of Trail Shoes quickly and did not have a ton of time to shop. I chose the Adrenaline ASR GTX because of my experience with the GTS. I received the shoes on a Thursday and ran a 15 mile trail run that Saturday. The shoes were extremely comfortable, but would have benefited from a more aggressive tread. I did slip a few times, but it was pretty wet and very dark.

Keeps my feet dry. This is my third pair because I use these shoes for everything--road running, trail running, hiking, walking---my go to shoe. I have had both the women's and men's model(purchased men's last time due to lower price). Gore Tex is awesome for keeping my feet dry even through wet tall grass, rainstorms, and snowy roads. I haven't found a better shoe for this yet.

These, like most shoes, are excellent new. However, if you are running off-pavement, then you will find the tread wears quickly. These lasted me 6 months with average 24 kilometers per week. It does have good waterproof protection.

I bought these to replace my Adrenaline GTS 11 running shoes. They are great becase they are waterproof, which helps when the slush and snow come here in Minnesota. They also have deeper treads for better traction in inclimate weather. One thing I notice is the ride is much stiffer than the GTS, but this is a trail shoe so I understand why.

I bought these because my Vibram Five Fingers weren't cutting it on the rocky Phoenix Metro mountains. After bruising the soles of my feet many times, I finally decided I needed some serious sole protection. First time I wore them, my little toes on each foot got badly chaffed after 6 miles on the trail. I was about ready to return these (courtesy of Brooks 30 day satisfaction guarantee) but decided to try them with different socks. Bingo! No little toe chaffing and no bruised soles. So these are winners in my book. If I change my mind I will write an amendment, until then, thumbs up!

I have flat feet all my life and have been trying different in sole support and arch support, I have to say this one works the best by far. It is like custom made because the whole thing can be adjusted to fit...from the top to the bottom of the straps to the placement of the little cushion. The only negative I have to say is that I was not aware that there is only one support in the package, usually it comes with a pair. I just found it a bit deceiving not to state that, but may be I did not read the description carefully. But in any case, I think it should be stated in the product name. So if you add up the price for a pair, it is very pricey. I would probably not buy this if I knew, but then I would never know this product is the best (in my opinion). It is pricey but I am very happy with it because it works, and I rather spend money on works.

This is a good concept but I feel that it falls short of its claims. This may help some people but not everyone. The strap allows the product to be adjustable to accommodate a wide range of foot sizes; also the support cushion can be placed in the specific area where you may need it on the brace. I feel the big downside of this product is the actual support it provides. There is a tear shaped support cushion that goes in the bottom of the brace, this cushion is comfortable but unless you are wearing a shoe or have your foot flat on the floor it fails to provide any benefit in my opinion. I feel that the description makes brief reference to wearing this while wearing shoes but does not list it as only being effective when wearing shoes. I also feel that in comparison to other items on the market it is extremely expensive because they are sold individually.

Again, this product may help some people but has not really given me any benefit that would make it worth the price.

I have a bad bunion and was having some discomfort on the inside of my foot. It felt like I needed more support so I purchased the arch support. It really helped quite a bit. It was easy to fit. I was able to run 6 miles while wearing it and didn't have any skin breakdown. If there is any downside to the arch support it would be that it is kind of thick when wearing street shoes and felt slightly tight but I didn't have the pain.

I bought this item in the 7.5, as the one I had previously purchased in an 8 was a 1/2 size too big, and my foot flopped around all in the shoe when running. (My feet shrank this year... so it's probably more of my issue than the shoe not fitting properly.) This seems like a decent transition, triathlon running shoe. I'm more of a triathlon novice, so I'm rating them from a novice's standpoint. They seem easy to use.... easy to slip on and go. There seems to be enough support for running a 5K. I probably wouldn't wear them in a 10K since I have arch issues. But, I also have the lace system on my Mizuno's too... I like them both... so, I can't weigh in on whether this is better to have than just the pull laces on your regular shoes. The only other benefit would be that this is a lighter shoe.

They do run a tad small, but they are a great lightweight shoe that offers support and my 4.5 year old believes they give him super speed power. They also look so adorable in the tiny size 5 that my twins wear. Durable and well constructed. The only reason I gave it a 4, is that they aren't quite true to size. Order a size up.

I tried on so many different pairs of shoes before settling with these. They were the most comfortable and provide excellent forefoot cushioning. Luckily, I don't get too hung up on colors but I do have to say that I've gotten razzing from my friends who have seen my shoes. I just tell them "Yes, they're obnoxious but the most comfy." I love them and will probably buy another pair since I'm training for a half marathon. Now that I know I like these so much, I'll order the blue/white ones online. These have helped eliminate the hip and knee pain I was having. My suggestion to Saucony: Go with some colors that aren't so loud. :) Love this shoe though!

Aw heck, I don't know what I was thinking about with this rancid color. It's like a combination of blood and Tang. Pfua! When I go running on the trail, it's kind of sad because all of the animals run and hide. It's no better at races either. Usually runners like really loud gear, but these draw stares and even some taunts. People call me BLOSSOM.

I'm so over it. I think I'm going to spray them blue and call it even.

Sloppy tongue in the sneaker that drifts to the side no matter how you tie them. Also the metal plate somehow manages to make a 'clinking' sound against the eyelets.

Though I am not a runner, I wanted to try a pair of these for casual walking and recreation because I have arthritis in my feet. I have worn NB shoes for years, usually the lower level models, and have been very pleased with the fit and ruggedness. These take it to the next level. I have wide feet and NB has a great range of widths compared to some other manufacturers. They are very light and well-cushioned. I really look forward to putting them on whenever I can. They are more expensive than what I normally get, but worth it. And they are made in the USA!

I've used NB since my first set of 1220s. I'm not even sure how many years back that's been. I've had all of the shoes in the 12xx series up until the latest 1260. I just started running more and figured I would go to the local NB store in town. Boy am I glad I did. The salesperson worked with me for about thirty minutes trying on different styles to find the right pair.

I am a heavy runner, 6'4" 250#, but the 990s give me the comfort and support I need. Much more comfortable than the 12xx that I thought I needed b/c of my weight. i guess now I'll see how long they can last!

Amazon Prime's service was great as usual but I'm sad to report the M990 "Heritage" is not the quality shoe New Balance used to make.

I've been buying the 990 series for 23 years, same size, same width. This "new improved" shoe is off poor quality, appears they've skimmped on materials, put some annoying plastics on the tongue, made everything thinner (cheaper) and some "efficiency expert" convinced them that if they shorten the shoe laces, every 20 pairs they sell they'll save one shoelace. The laces are too short to properly lace and tie. They are so thin I'm guessing I'll break them before I put my 6 months and miles on them. Running today in my old ones, side by side I can see the 990 is definitely junk.

I appreciate New Balance being made in America. I'd rather have the price go up than the product turn inferior. They might as well be made in China, they seem like a cheap cost concious shoe rather than quality running shoe. I buy new shoes every 4-6 months, will definitely NOT buy these again and may have to say goodbye to 23 great years of New Balance.
