I'm a nurse and I work on concrete floors 8-12 hours a day. I've tried numerous brands of running/walking shoes (New Balance, Mizuno, Adidas, Nike) but for the past year, I've been wearing these and I wouldn't trade them for any other brand. The cushioning in these shoes is unparalleled. Previously, I had to buy new shoes every 6 months or so because the cushion would wear out and my joints would become achey. I've worn the same pair of Saucony Jazz for a full year and only now am I replacing them. You can't beat the price--at least 50% cheaper than the higher end runners I've tried (I used to wear Adidas Supernova and went to these after they were no longer produced). I have had several pair to wear around town--the color combinations are terrific and fun and they are great for walking /travelling. I order mine 1/2 a size larger only to allow for thick socks/foot swelling (I used to do double shifts and the foot swelling was awful by the end of the day) but I find that they are true to size. The foot bed isn't very molded, so if they don't fit well size-wise your feet may slide around but that doesn't deter me at all from wearing them every day & I just tighten the laces. I do not run in these, so I cannot speak to how well they do for running. Overall, I can't recommend these highly enough for you if you're on your feet all day. Take it from a 12 year nursing veteran--give these a chance!

These shoes are so cushy, I literally felt like Tigger while effortlessly bouncing around in them the first day or two. They definitely made my walking/running routine much easier and go by faster. Hope I'm not wearing the inner cushioning down too quickly! Thankfully, though, they're affordable enough to be able to purchase every now and again. They also do have a slight heel, so if you're used to walking in relative flats (like Converse, or [Ugg] boots all winter) then they may take a tiny adjustment. But the small height helps one appear more elongated. The colors are awesome, but never can decide, and classic black goes with nearly everything. Awesome, fun shoes!...and free shipping!

I love these shoes!! I have a pair of black and silvers and they really are my favorite pair of shoes. I'd say they give you at least a good inch in height, so my pants aren't dragging on the ground and it makes me look leaner. It's a simple style that is really good looking! I own the suede/nylon ones opposed to the all leather ones, and my only con about them is that the suede can fade due to too much walking in the snow or rain. This may be eliminating by spraying them and avoiding those conditions!! Otherwise they're comfortable and I wouldn't give em up for the world!!

My daughter wore these shoes for approx 4 hrs the first day and the stitching that holds the sole to the front of the shoe came loose. This stitching was a major consideration for buying this particular shoe. My kids, everyone else's I'm sure, drag the toe of their shoes whether crawling or just playing, so the stitching seemed that it would prevent the sole from seperating from the upper. The stitching can't stop this though if the first wearing breaks the stitch.

I REALLY loved the look of these shoes and so did my 5 yr old daughter. The only problem is, we purchase them July 31st, and by August 25th (or so) they have a hole in the toe. I know that kids are rough on shoes, but to not even last 1 month is ridiculous. She did not wear them everyday either-maybe 2-3 times a week, no joke. Although these shoes are highly adorable style & color wise, spare the expense and get something that lasts more than a few weeks.

I currently run in Asics Gel Kinsei 4 and absolutely adore them. I wanted to try these Mizuno's, but couldn't justify paying $190 for the Asics and just a few months later $200 for the Mizuno's. I finally did it (Happy Bday to me) and am SO glad. These feel strange at first. They make a funny noise when you walk and you do feel elevated. They feel firm and you wonder how great the run can feel on such firm shoes. I certainly felt a spring or bounce when I was running faster. I ran 6.3miles with quite a bit of hills and have to say these shoes are great. I'm not going to stop running in my Asics, but these Mizuno's will be my long run shoes without a doubt. They do feel a bit heavier, but my legs feel terrific and I have been having some quad and hamstring soreness lately... not today!

They actual upper is nice and airy... I felt plenty of wind on my feet during my run. I use a metatarsal insole so I just removed the ones that came with the Mizuno's. The toe box is snug, but not tight. The lacing system feels good and my foot feels hugged. The inner ankle bone does come right to the top of the shoe so it feels a bit funny, but I run in Thor Lo running socks with arch support so no abrasive or tender feeling.

I wear a street shoe size 9-9.5 and ordered a size 11 in these. They do run quite small. My other running shoes are 10.5 and these size 11 feel like those 10.5s. The color is great. A nice dark shoe with bursts of a deep, berry red. Not to mention it's just a cool and funky looking shoe.

I have to be honest, when I first got these shoes, I didn't want to wear them. They weren't as comfortable as my other shoes, and I thought that the product reviews rated this product way too high... Then I gave them the chance they rightfully deserved.

I started running in them, little by little until I had them broken in. They felt like they conformed and supported my feet just the way you'd dream a running shoe would! They quickly became my most comfortable pair of running shoes (and I do have quite a few) and the only pair I would wear for running. Now I'm training for a half-marathon and I really wouldn't dream about training in any other shoes than my Mizuno's.

It may take a quick-minute to break them in... But once you do, you will love these shoes forever!

In the 25 years I have been running, I never thought I would spend $200 for a pair of running shoes. After researching and reading reviews, I took the plunge about 6 months ago and purchased the Wave Prophecy. Wow. These shoes have truly empowered my run. They have perfect support and just the right amount of spring in them. Not that it matters, but I love the color, which doesn't shoe dirt and style too. I currently have a brand new pair of Aisic Gels which have sat idle in the box they came in and will be relegated strictly for gym use. The Mizuno's have spoiled me for any other running shoe.

These are fantastic shoes for an average runner. They are designed to take a big shock absorption (I can't really feel sidewalk cracks) and offer stability, which I need. I have had two knee surgeries and these are great for me. THEY ARE NOT RACERS as they are a bit heavy compared to race runners--they are trainers. They are pricey, but I ordered two pair in case they redesigned. I have still not worn out my first pair and I have had them for well over 1200 miles.

From the moment I first put on these sneakers, they felt comfortable, cushy yet supportive. They also keep your feet cooler. However, in less than three months, they are starting to deteriorate. The plastic covering in the center of each heel is badly cracked, so there is an opening to the inside of the shoe. The top liner above my toes inside one sneaker has a hole, and the blue liner at the back of the other shoe also has a hole. So for comfort and support, my grade would, most certainly, be an A, but durability would merit a D.

I got a C width and the shoe is just wide enough for me.

They have a stiff sole with rigid plastic on the sides of the shoe just above the sole which means the foot does not flex or move when striding. This means you feel secure and can't pronate or twist your ankle easily.

It is a different style of shoe from the type with a flexible sole and soft sides which feels like wearing moccasins. I like both types of shoe the flexible type feels better on dirt paths and the stiff type feels better on harder surfaces.

I have 4 pair of fairly recently purchased athletic shoes in my closet. They all either hurt my feet or my back or both. In the past I've actually bought two pair of different sized shoes to match my different sized feet, with marginal satisfaction. So.....a few weeks ago I am sitting in my orthopedist's office and pick up a magazine and see an ad for a great shoe for people with, well, issues like mine. Quickly I wrote down the brand and then came home to check them out online. Great reviews!!!!!

There are 4 herniated lumbar discs, totally degenerated cervical disks in my back, and a 73% occlusion of my right sciatic foramen; in other words, I'm a mess. Shoes are essential and frequently add to the already pained life I live. Finding something that feels good on my feet, doesn't add to back pain, and...gosh, even looks good is impossible ~ until now!

These shoes arrived a couple of days ago. I tentatively wore them around the house in case they had to be returned. Finally, today I took the "leap." I put them on and took my two dogs for a very long walk (about 2.5 miles, lots of it uphill/downhill). Can I just say, I still have these wonderful shoes on and I'm feelin' fine!

As for fit, my feet are narrow to medium and these fit like a glove. I'm somewhere between 7.5 and 8.0. They are absolutely the right length. And, I have a rather pronounced turn out of my right leg, which is oddly (and comfortably) a bit corrected with these.

I am in love! With a shoe! Yes, my life is woefully lacking, but not in athletic shoes!

Finally, my feet, back, hips, everything feels happy. I may never take these off!!!

I ordered my normal size in this style shoe which is also a wide width. It felt tight across the foot. I had not checked the shoe last(pattern that the shoe is based on). I followed New Balance's recommendation, and ordered a extra wide but in the same size. The logic being you can always add thicker socks or inserts to make up for a shoe feeling a bit big, but you can't do anything with a tight shoe. I am really happy with this style of running shoe. New Balance comes in wide and extra wide widths, plus they tell you what shoe last they used. The shoe last determines if the toe box is average depth or deep, how high the instep is and the width of the heel. I have bought New Balance shoes because of this extra feature. This style 1340 is very cushioned. and also is a great stabilizer for those with flat feet. This is supposed to be the upgrade to the 1012.

This shoes is wonderful! I have painful plantar faciitis and need a shoe with stability control and excellent support this is it! I don't even need to put my inserts in this shoe. It fits well and has ample padding in the footbed as well as around the ankle. I even like the style, which is a nice bonus. I would definitely recommend this shoe to those with heel and/or arch pain.

This is my third try on a motion control shoe, and I am very pleased with this one. I had to get a half size larger than I normally wear in New Balance due to the extra padding. This shoe is replacing the 1011 which I had great success with but needed to replace; I was beginning to have knee and ankle problems and knew it was time to replace the shoe. This shoe keeps the ankles supported with lateral movement and the overall cushioning, arch support, and stability are excellent. I also have orthotic insoles in them which makes them even more comfortable. I would recommend the 1340 to anyone needing support in an athletic shoe.

Helloe Im a big fan of addidas but the design on this pair of shoes totally sucks the hollowed out bottom in the tread of the shoe collects rocks galore .So does the pattern on the bottom of the shoe it works like a funnel and rock just slide right into the bottom of the shoe .So if I want to keep the shoes when I come back to the states I have to find a way to get all the rocks out of the shoe.since customs wont allow for sand dirt or unpollished rocks to come back traveling.I have allways had luck with marathon 10 shoes but these shoes look nice but are a design flaw!

I recently purchased the same pair at the shoe store for sixty dollars, but these are a bit cheaper here on Amazon. I need to try on shoes before I wear them, which is why I buy these in person. However, if you have the time to go to the store, try these on, and then order the same pair from Amazon, you will save money. I noticed these ship free with super shipper, so that is not bad. The Sketchers D'Lites are one of my favorite shoes now because these are light weight, and hold up after months and many hundreds of miles of walking. This sneaker felt good when I first slipped it on. But when I began to walk around, my heel was rubbed with each step. Even when I tightened the laces, this continued. I am a true size 6 1/2, and rarely have trouble with sizing. But these are either a touch too big or there is a small design flaw. Either way, I returned them.

My normal training shoe are Mizuno Wave Riders, which are cushioned neutral shoes. I mildly supinate/ under pronate. I use these shoes as my racing flats for Half Ironman distance races. They are extremely light and airy. You can feel the wind on your toes if you go sockless or wear very thin socks. The velcro strap works very well, allowing for quick entry to the shoe while not being overly restrictive. I have a very low volume foot, and these are JUST snug enough for me, so definitely try them out before buying.

I have logged 50 miles in these shoes, consisting of a few break in runs and racing. There is no visible wear or any issues with durability. These are not barefoot, low ramp style shoes, rather a lightweight racing flat. And they excel at that.

Easy to slip into, tightens enough to feel secure at top of foot with one velcro strap.

Foot feels a bit wobbly at beginning of day, but sets into place within minutes. Not waterproof, but very breathable!

The shoe has a great sole. I bought this because I want the drainage in the base of the shoes that this product provides.

I've run in triathlons when there was no drainage and it cost me dearly during the run. My feet stayed wet and became raw and blistered before the end.

I have run in two other K-Swiss shoes and I thought this might be a good option because of the Velcro fastening system.

The shoe does go on quickly and I think it would be fine in a short distance race. The problem that I found with the shoe is that the forefoot to toe area of the shoe has no support because it is made up of a type of stretchy material only.

When running I have found my foot has a lot of movement because of this and I have actually rolled my foot and mildly twisted my ankle due to this.

Because of this I have gone back to my Nike Free Runs for training and marathon purposes. I will use this shoe in an upcoming Olympic distance race and see how it performs. If that works for me I will continue to use it for a half ironman event and then maybe a full iron man race?

I think the shoe could be good if used on very solid ground. I feel like the shoe is bigger than it should be but this just could be due to the lack of support in the upper toe and mid foot region. If you look at the shoe the only support it has is where the silver Velcro strap is located.

It goes on very quickly and is pretty comfortable. I would just strongly caution anyone about the non-supporting area in the front. A "tweaked" or twisted ankle isn't going to help anyone achieve their racing goals!

I basically wore nothing but these shoes, when they were made by Adidas, back in the 1970's/early 80's. The fit and quality was great and you could really move in them. Of course, after they stopped making them and my last pair wore out I was out of luck. I've had many other types of running/athletic shoes since, but always wished I could find some forgotten stash of that old Adidas model again. When I saw these shoes I was pretty surprised and hopeful, but when I found out Adidas owned Reebok I got excited! I have 3 pair now and I'm completely satisfied with them. Same fit and feel, with the added bonus of remembering good times from the past each time I wear them. If you remember these and liked them back then, do yourself a favor and get a pair. You won't be disappointed.

The only thing I do not do is sleep in them (well not usually). It is very hard to find shows as light as not wearing anything. I cannot stand shoes that form fit and are all fluffy and hot. I have run the gambit in color as they became available and not in my size. I used to let them ware out completely but now I use the new ones for work and the old for play and the garden. There is a pair that does not seem to want to wear out I keep hanging from the treadmill.

The only thing I regret is they did not even ask what I would pay for them to be made in the U.S.

I am giving serious though in having a backup pair.

These shoes are a bit snug-fitting, but that's usually to be expected with new ones. The color was composed of more of light-greenish shades of grey than the picture indicates. The quality seems to be very good, but that along with the corresponding fit will be indicated more clearly with the ensuing break-in. They are a cool-looking, albeit maybe a bit retro type of design; that was actually what attracted me. They look nice: not overly flashy, but not too subdued, either. I look forward to long life, like Reeboks and New Balances I have used in the past. These Reeboks do seem to be a bit tighter than similarly-sized New Balances, which are usually too roomy. The sock liner/inner sole is not removable, and the soles of these shoes are stiff (board-lasted), unlike Nikes and New Balances I have had (better for casual use than running or a lot of walking). The shoe laces are very nice: they are adequately long enough and have a little bit of elasticity; they have a reassuring grip or "cinch" when you tie the bow. Overall, I expect to get long and good use out of these shoes. By the way, I wear these types of shoes everyday and everywhere, including for walking and exercise sessions.

No shoe or brand is going to work for everyone, but I'm convinced the New Balance 587 is the best one for me. I'm a big ol' fat boy (6'2", 210lbs) with feet that are stupid wide (13EEEE). I started running in my late 40s and ran my first marathon at age 49, and I haven't used any other running shoe for the past several years. When I hit 350-400 miles, I get a new pair, convert my running pair to my walking pair, and throw out the current walking pair.

I do a whole lot of walking in the city where some places it's just quicker and more convenient to walk to certain places. If you do a lot of running or walking, you'll notice a difference in the feel of these shoes compared to other brands. There's no gimmicky air bubbles or springs; just comfort and support with a style of shoe that goes with anything you wear. It also comes in wide sizes!

Always had good luck with New Balance shoes but not this pair. I have discovered if the seal between the tread and the inner construction foam is breached, the shoes will emit a smelly gas that has nothing to do with foot odor. This smelly gas only gets worse if the shoes are worn after the smell is noticed. The problem is with the chemicals used to make the inner cushioning foam. I have notified NB about the problem and for the money paid, there should be a recall. I was forced to distance my home from those shoes, the shoes went in the trash can, and I know many other NB customers have experienced the same experience.

The New Balance Men's M587 Running Shoe has been an excellent running shoe. It has a built in rollbar that prevent shin-splints and the shoes are extremely comfortable to run-in. I have been buying this shoe for over four years and two deployments to Iraq. I recommend this shoe to any runner that runs 4-5 times a week.

These shoes are so light that sometimes I forget I have them on. They are so comfortable than I don't want to take them off. I have to walk a lot every day and I am not kidding when I said that any other pair of shoes make my feet sore after a few hours of use, but these shoes do the job to perfection.

I highly recommend them.
