I have been profesionally fitted in a running store (used to do sprint triathlons) so I know that I'm an overpronator. I have been dealing with plantar fasciitis and needed good shoes to keep me mobile (now for kickboxing and walking). I read articles on several sites that indicated these were the most-recommended shoes for my type of foot, but I winced at the price. I even tried other shoes -Nikes in the store and K-Swiss and another model of Brooks that I had shipped and ended up returning. The Trance 11 were the winners for both fit and style. The Blue color combination is lovely, and the detailing on the shoe is attractive while aiding in support. In fact, the support seemed almost too much at first, but within a week they broke in beautifully. I wore my Trance shoes almost exclusively for a couple of months and my plantar fasciitis improved markedly. Living in the hot climate of Texas, I particularly appreciate how breathable the uppers are to help keep my feet cool. I even put these through the wash once (front loader washer in a garment bag, air dry) and they came out looking almost like new.
As woman with large feet (12B), I am totally thrilled that more shoe companies are offering larger sizes in woman's shoes. There is plenty of toe room to allow wiggle room for comfort, even though I can't go up a half size as I normally would like to do for a running shoe. I will be watching the price on these so that I can purchase a back-up pair.

I purchased 2 pair of the Brooks Trance !! Running Shoes because they have great cushioning and support. I run 10Ks and 1/2 Ms and they perform well for me in those distances. Order a 1/2 size up from your street size.Honest reviews on Brooks Women's Trance 11 Running Shoe
I purchased the Trance 10 shoes in July 2011 and they were a step well above my old tennis shoes. The tread started wearing down a bit this year and I bought the Trance 11s. The design and color is nice, but they are not nearly as comfortable as the Trance 10s. Trance 11s have a decorative strip running across the top of your big toe which causes pressure. The front of the shoe is also narrower than the 10s. My achilles tendon began hurting shortly after starting each run which was somewhat relieved by purchasing Dr. Scholl's Active Sport inserts. About a month ago, I put my old Trance 10s on with the inserts and they felt great!! I'm going to have to go back to the 10s. Another bonus is the price has dropped considerably!Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Brooks Women's Trance 11 Running Shoe
I didn't buy this on Amazon. I went into a running store because I twisting my ankles (I guess pronation) in my other walking shoes. I wanted to graduate into a running shoe, but was not sure how I could save my ankles. The running store I went to put these on me. My ankles were in heaven. The downside especially after reading the review is the lack of cushioning in these shoes were so very different than my last walking shoes. I figured it had to be the difference between walking and running. I am back to looking for new tennis and want to have the best of both worlds: cushioning AND help for my ankles. Hopefully these reviews will help me find the right balance in Brooks. I am willing to stick with the brand even if my feet are adjusting to the difference.
