This is my 3rd pair of the New Balance Minimus shoes and I love them. They are holding up well, the first 2 pairs each have almost 300 miles on them. They have a wide toebox so that is a plus for me as I have wide feet

I am using these shoes along with FiveFingers and they great complements. I use the Minimus for longer runs or sharp gravel and use my FiveFingers for my other runs. I may use the Minimus for races too.

I have been running in NB Minimus since they came out. I probably average anywhere from 15-25 miles per week depending on the season and my available time. I really like these shoes .. But .. saying they have a Vibram sole is not really so accurate. Only part of the sole is Vibram. Around the forefoot and one side of the heel.I am a midfoot runner but I pronate when I push off it tends to wear down the rear inside heel of the sole. This is one of the areas that is quickly started to wear down since it one of the places not covered with Vibram material. I would say I probably have 300 miles or so on them and they will probably need replaced soon. Other than this they have been a great shoe. I will still probably buy them again so it may be part of the NB master plan to keep minimal runners buying shoes :) (Disclamer: I am in the 250lb range so this probably lends itself to increase sole wear on pavement)

Honest reviews on New Balance Men's MR20v1 Minimus Running Shoe

First, I'd like to point out that the pair I got was MR20v1, NOT v2. For some reason Amazon put both v1 and v2 under the same heading. You can see that as you scroll through the colors on the product page the style changes. In my case, I actually wanted v1 so it's fine by me but 1 star off for Amazon for making it confusing.

Now, the shoes themselves are very good so far (after about 50 miles). I was looking for minimalist qualities and these shoes do not disappoint: low stack height, low heel-to-toe drop, very wide toe box, great ventilation, super flexible. I love the outsole it's uniform enough to have a smooth ride on pavement and knobby enough to have a decent grip on not too technical trails. Also its pattern is such that it does not pick up any stones or sticks.

One thing I do not like so far is the height and shape of the heel counter. My other two favorite shoes, NB M730 and NB MT110 have a V-cut and wrap my Achilles from the sides. MR20 on the other hand goes straight up and I get a distinct rubbing sensation. Hopefully, it softens or breaks down (or my Achilles gets roughed up), but for now I wouldn't run more than 10K in them for fear of big blisters.

Great looking and seemingly well constructed shoe, but the size was too small and 13s usually fit me. I replaced it with the MT10B in a 14 and I love them. I'm new to minimalist and I ran 4 miles in them right out of the box. New balance makes a great product, just suggest considering a size up.
