When I took them out of the box I thought they were kind of ugly the design just wasn't what I'm used to. But when I put them on they felt really good. They look good too. Around the ankle feels like swim socks. In fact they really don't need the laces. The soles are thick enough to walk on rocks or concrete comfortably and they are so light weight it's better than being barefoot.. The material breaths yet my feet stay warm. They are well made. The sizing was right. First tennis shoes I've felt comfortable wearing without socks. I am a heavy person and usually stick to thicker soled shoes but not any more. I plan on buying another pair to keep back for when these wear out. I have and would recommend these to everyone.

I bought these running shoes so that I no longer had to duct tape my regular sneakers. They definitely keep the chill out, but they are NOT water resistant. They are also heavier and stiffer than a normal running shoe. Not bad, better than another GoreTex pair I had a few years back. But still not as good as my duct taped regular shoes.
