I have flat feet & knee problems but I love running so picking out running shoes takes a lot of time. My favorite is New Balance 8505. This one compared to 8505s:
1. Slightly thinner bottom cushion. 8505 is better in this department. Average person may not notice the difference.
2. Better design/color combos.
3. Better looking mesh material.
4. Slimmer front. Fits average to narrow feet better. I like this one better than 8505s because it is snug.
5. Shorter Laces. No need to double tie laces which I like.
Overall great running shoes

I have a normal foot. I did a ton of research and comparisons for 2 months before I made the purchase. I needed new shoes because the shoes I was using had 200 miles of use and had started giving me knee pain. Based on the reviews on Amazon and the item being part of the Friday sale, I felt that the New Balances would be a safe choice for me. Upon arrival, I did like the look and lightness of it. Once it was on, I didn't like the long, unstableness of the shoe. I figured it would take a few days to get used to the fit which I did eventually. The problem for me occurred on the second day into wearing the shoe. I began to feel an ache in my shins but brushed it off hoping it would go away. A week later I noticed that I was now running with an overpronated stride and was still showing signs of pain.I do regret making this purchase because I tend to buy cheaper shoes and hurt myself in the long run. I am still using these but only for my cardio workouts on a treadmill and an eliptical where it doesn't affect my shins.
