My partner and I each bought a pair of these (in different colors) before a trip to Zion and Bryce Canyon. We didn't have much time to break them in before the trip. I only managed a quick walk around the neighborhood ahead of time. It didn't matter! These puppies felt fantastic right out of the box. I hiked in them everyday for a week and had zero blisters. I also felt my ankles were very supported. It was hot during our trip, so we appreciated that they were lightweight.

I bought these online from Amazon based on reviews on light packing sites. I was a little concerned because I wear a size 10.5 or even an 11 in some athletic or outdoor shoes, and the largest ladies size was a US 10. I saw a comment from someone else that Salomon runs large, and I looked at the Euro conversion chart and realized that the Salomon US 10 was equivalent to the normal 10.5 from others, and sure enough they fit great. They are so comfortable with am amazing balance of comfort and support while feeling lightweight and flexible. You "feel" the trail under your feet, but they're also grippy and protective. I wear mine with Dirty Girl gaiters to keep out the trail dirt and they're perfect. I wore them backpacking the first two weeks after I took them out of the box.
