I use the Spenco Walker/Runner Insoles in tennis shoes and Spenco Cross Trainer Insoles in my casual shoes and absolutely love them! The Walker/Runner are a bit thicker than the Cross Trainer and don't fit as well in shoes with less room inside like casual shoes. I currently have a pair of Spenco insoles in four different pairs of shoes. Amazon has the best price I've been able to find.

I've had occassional problems over the years with Plantar Faciitis. Each time I've injured a foot, it was because I wasn't wearing one of these insoles and didn't have proper support from the shoes I was wearing. My feet are otherwise fairly normal/healthy.

I have tried other insoles (Super Feet, Dr Scholls and one other sold in brick & mortar shoe stores, can't remember the brand) and like these the best. The Spencos have more padding and just a little more arch support which make them much more comfortable. There are no noise or squeek problems with the Cross Trainer or Walker/Runner versions like have been reported with the Spenco Total Support insoles. I will say that I tried a pair of the Powerstep Pinnacle orthotics after one injury. They were great until my foot healed enough to go back to the Spenco insoles. The Powersteps are the only real orthotic I've ever worn.

One lesson I have learned is that shoes and insoles wear out. Now I replace my insoles every year or so. Doing this helps extend the lifespan of my shoes while providing proper support for my feet.

Highly recommended! I will buy these again!

In my search for the perfect sports shoe insert, I tried both the Spenco Polysorb Total and the Spenco Polysorb Walker/Runner. Both are well made inserts, and both are cut the same length. However, of the two, I found the Polysorb Total to be more comfortable. For one thing the Walker/Runner insert has a very high arch, whereas the Total insert's arch is more modest. The Total insert is also a little thicker and more cushioned (it has a nice heel cushion). Both are much thicker than the cheap inserts that come in most running/cross trainer shoes. I put these in my ASICS cross trainers, and they are really comfortable. If you prefer a high arch, you might start with the Walker/Runner inserts, otherwise, I'd suggest that you try the Total Support inserts.

I've tried Superfeet only to end up in more pain, and I've been fitted for costly custom orthotics. As a long-distance runner, I don't recommend Superfeet or custom orthotics, but I do recommend Spenco Polysorb Walker/Runner insoles.

I use these inserts to upgrade the insoles of my Brooks Adrenaline running shoes. The improvement for me is substantial as I experience far less foot, knee, and back pain. The insoles practically eliminate foot and ankle swelling for me.

Honest reviews on Spenco Unisex Walker/Runner

Like another reviewer, I've had plantar fasciitis troubles.

I've tried the Dr S machine inserts... not worth the $$. Tried another brand, too stiff. Couldn't stand them. (pun intended)I Really needed to find the right shoe inserts for arch support, as the foot problems were causing knee and lower back problems too.

When you're out of alignment, everything is messed up.

So in hope of finding some relief, I bought 3 different styles of these Spenco inserts, for less than the price of the Dr S ones.

I haven't tried the gel ones yet, but this style are really nice. Not too hard, and yes, maybe a little on the wide side, but for me they fit in my NB shoes okay. I just loosened the laces up some, and they are fine.

I also put the "Total Support" style in my hiking boots, and they were great off roading last weekend.

Def. getting some relief for my sore knee, and back pain is gone.

For the price, def. worth the investment. I'm sure I will be purchasing these in the future.

Good arch support, and comfy. As one reviewer said, might not fit in dress shoes though. They do run a bit wide, and not sure if trimming them on the sides would work.

I have been using Spenco CrossTrainers for several years to assist with arch fatigue and perhaps some plantar fascitis. It seems that this Walker/Runner model works even better for me. The CrossTrainers are pretty much a flat, thick cushion. The Walker/Runners have a cupped heel ("heel strike pad"), which I have found very comfortable to absorb shock and give more "bounce" in the step. Also there is a little lift in the arch area for support ("countoured arch support"), which the CrossTrainers do not have. Both models have "heel to toe cushioning" and "low-friction top cloth [which] helps prevent blisters").

The Spenco packaging says that both models are for walking, running, training, and sports. The Walker/Runners are said to be ideal for medium to high arch; the CrossTrainers, for low to medium arch. I though that I had a low arch, but the Walker/Runners seem to be better for me than the CrossTrainers.
