The fit on these is true to size. I wear an 8 and my foot is slightly wide. The toe box is quite large so this may take some getting used to. If anything this shoe runs a tad large. If I tighten the laces well, the fit is perfect for me. The soles are very grippy and it makes a huge difference in traction compared with a regular running shoe. I like how stable this shoe is. It has cushion to it but not so much that you can't feel the terrain.
I would not hesitate to get another pair after mine are worn out.

This is my first pair of Montrails and I chose them due to the comments of a wide toe box, waterproof and the price was under $100. The toe box is slightly wider than most, but not significantly. I wear a 7 and ordered a 7.5 and it was too small for comfort. The first several walks I got a big blister on the heel. I just spent two days wearing them at a festival to give them one last chance and my feet are very sore from pressure points on toes being too tight and also on top of the foot. Also feels like the shoe isn't long enough and my toes are at the edge. I have tried light and medium socks. They are very hot to wear. Can't comment on the waterproofness. They are pretty stiff and the insole is not very cushioned. They are very lightweight and easy to pack in luggage. They seem to be well constructed and I would expect long lasting.I like the color scheme and the idea of a sturdy, good looking versatile shoe, but this is not the one for me.

love these shoes. they haven't yet been put to the test water-wise, but i love the fit of montrails. my previous pair were the gtx which were bombproof, so i'm wondering how the outdry will perform compared to gore-tex.UPDATE: these shoes have finally been put through the wringer, and they came out perfectly! after the wettest, muddiest trail run in memory my feet were dry and comfortable, unlike the rest of my body! highly recommend these shoes.
