Are they TRUE TO SIZE???? This was my biggest question and fear.. I love adidas shoes, they are comfy but nor Dick's or sports authority or even foot locker in my area carry these hiking shoes. Dicks carried hiking shoes but not by adidas and the sales rep admitted she didn't even know tat adidas made hiking shoes.
Finally I tracked down the nearest adidas shoe store however they were sold out of ALL ladies hiking shoes :(
I really wanted to try them on before purchasing because I have heard that hiking shoes size varies from regular running shoes...
My hike is in 3 days from now so I had no choice other than winging it and ordering here. I read in another review that they ran true to size and I asked the sales rep at the adidas store and he said they ran true to size.
Looooong story shortYES they run true to size. I am 8.5 in regular adidas running shoes and also 8.5 in their hiking shoes.
They are VERY comfy and I cant wait to use them in 3 days.
If anything changes or if I find any complaints about them then I will update this review, if I haven't updated this review in by july 4th 2012 then my rating remains 5 star for comfort and being true to size. They have awesome traction too....( uuuuhm on my floors hahah).

I need shoes that have the support to cradle my weak woman ankles. This is the product for me. Item arrived promptly and is just as described. They run true to size. There is toe space for those downhill moments. Great arch support. Fantastic tread and ankle support. The laces are sturdy. Granted, I'm not going to climb the mountains of Nepal. Just some hills and such.Best Deals on Adidas Women's Terrex Fast X Mid GTX Hiking Boots

I bought these shoes from Amazon in April, 2012 for a trip to Maui. I have put about 30 miles of hiking on them on various terrain including Torrey Pines State Park, San Diego, CA, Maui (a coastal hike over mostly flat terrain), and down into the crater and back out of Haleakala (about 5,000k elevation loss and gain over sandy terrain and 9 miles), and up and down Cerro Verde and Santa Ana volcanoes in El Salvador (6.5 miles with 3,000' elevation gain and steep up and down climbs and slippery terrain).PROS: I have been supremely pleased with these hiking boots. I have ankles that like to flop on me when I hike, and so far I haven't twisted my ankles despite several stumbles and slips thanks for my own clumsiness. The ankle support is excellent without being too high up. I also had a meniscus repair surgery 1.5 years ago and I needed a boot that wouldn't slip out on me on slippery or steep terrain so I wouldn't tweak my knee. One of the principle reasons that I chose this boot over others is that it has a sliding heel (Formotion) with a little give that is awesome for catching you if your feet start to slide out from under you. Another excellent feature is the light-weight plates in the ball of the feet that help if you have to walk over sharp rocks or tons of gravel. Additionally, these shoes weigh less than my running shoes and my trail running shoes. They are super LIGHT! I have mostly hiked in dry conditions, so I can't say that I have tested out the Gortex too much, but I haven't had any problems with leaking or breath-ability either. I also appreciate that they break in immediately. I did not get any blisters. You can essentially unbox them and hit the trails. Finally, despite the loud blue color, these are pretty attractive hiking boots. Much more Euro looking, less ranger rick American tourist in hiking boots look.
CONS: The Adidas stripes are made of plastic, at least in the model that I got. I haven't had any blisters but there is less flexibility on the sides of the boots. You can feel a slight rub. It is probably my crappy, beat up feet, but my feet feel tired in these shoes after about 6 miles but they are really comfy those first six miles. I'm pretty sure this is due to my feet and not a design flaw of the shoe though. The blue color is quite loud, but they now have more muted options.
In summary, I would highly recommend these shoes. There are cheaper hiking boots out there, but most do not seem to be as feature rich and light like this pair. I am very happy about this purchase. MY husband bought a pair too, and is equally pleased. I don't think he has ANY complaints about his shoes at all.
