I've always been a slow runner (heavy heel-striker, upright posture). I saw an expert and fixed that last year. Anyone who's gone through that conversion knows there's a lot of calf pain involved, but my speed and endurance have improved remarkably.

Anyway, after recovering from the pain of adjustment and running about 500 miles in my "new" style, I started having some significant knee and ankle pain. Finally, I went out and bought a pair of Puma Vectana 2's because the expert who evaluated me last year put them on a list of shoes for over-pronators (I'm moderate almost severe). In fact, the wrong shoe can pretty much turn you from "moderate" to "severe" if you're not careful.

I ran in the Puma Vectana 2's for the first time today and was able to increase my distance of 4.5 miles (in great pain) to just under 7 miles (in barely noticeable pain) in ONE DAY. The rigid midsole and the cant of the shoe really keeps me from rolling my weight during transfer from landing to toe-off. I ASSUME (because of reduced pain), that these mechanics also minimize my "knee whip," as well. The forefoot cushioning is JUST THE RIGHT amount, too. My last shoe was an Asics Gel Antares, and the lack of forefoot cushioning was killing me.

I could not be more pleased! They're light, airy, and give me just the right support. And the price is superb for the quality. I might just buy a second pair to keep in the closet, "just in case."

These are my favorite running shoes ever!! They are so good, I had to purchase the female version for my wife so she can enjoy them. She loves them too. Amazing shoe!

PUMA Men's Complete Vectana 2 Running Shoe

Coming off of plantar fasciitis and training for Tough Mudder, this shoe has performed very well. I am 5'-11 194lbs and have been running in these shoes for one month both tread mill and road. Very supple cushioning, snug fit, and very breathable. It received moderate reviews on Runner's World, but I took a chance on them. Very happy with them. Grreat stability and subtle control. Older shoe was a neutral Adidas Supernova Cushion, also very nice.
