A wise sales person fitted me with this shoe in a local running store Fleet Feet although I was skeptical. It fit tightly size 8.5 and normally I am a 9 and it has no extra gel or cushioning, but has a toe-bed that fits the shape of my foot and a heel bed that hugs my heel and arches that tuck right up against my feet in the right spot. They fit without pain from the first run except for a brief front ankle discomfort when wearing low-cut socks. I have put mostly street miles on them but they perform well on the trail and have retained their appearance and structural integrity for over 4 months of almost continual wear. They are responsive and supportive and grip well on a variety of surfaces from dirt to wet pavement to rocks. I love them and ordered another pair (these) after the shop said they are moving away from Perigrines. Nothing else so far has fit quite the same!

I had a similar problem as another commenter. I had a pair of Cohesion NXs and ordered a new pair of Cohesion 5s in the same size to replace them. But the redesign of the 5s removed most of the stitching around the toe box. I've kept them for walking but my foot moves around too much to run in them.
The Peregrines, again in the same size as always, fit much better. They are narrower, so if you wear the Cohesions comfortably these are not the shoes for you. I find they have the same support and cushioning I expect from the brand, even in a lower profile shoe. And my orthotics fit in them with no trouble. They do have very good arch support to begin with. Some of us just need a little more. I haven't had them long enough to comment on the durabity, but they seem sturdy so I imagine they will last a while.
Keep in mind Saucony makes shoes for a variety of arch type, gait, use, etc. The brands website lets you filter your search based on these things, so no matter where you purchase I would start there.

These shoes are great! The traction on them has really helped me on my hikes. They are not as wide as I thought but they stretched out and fit perfectly now. Great product!

Sweet shoes man! The first time I tried these shoes they were loaned to me for a weekly trail running program. After the first time I wore them I was amazed at what a difference they make on the trails. They give a solid grip and keep stones from rolling away beneath the feet, and are light and breathable enough to dry out in no time after a soggy joggy (eughh sorry)! I ended up purchasing myself a pair after the first time I tried them. True to size for a running shoe which I generally wear a size up from my regular shoes although it helped that I had the opportunity to try them on beforehand. HOT IN BLUE AND PURPLE TOO!

great shoes, felt really comfortable, but used to the KInvara 3 width this model was a little too narrow for me, so I had to return them.Bummer, I really wanted to keep them because except for the tightness on the side they were perfect
