These shoes are extremely comfortable to wear, especially with socks. You can wear them indoors and out. I bought size 12, though I'm usually a size 13, and they were a bit constrictive around the big toe and pinky toe. I used shoe stretch and walked in these for a few hours and they now fit great, very comfortable. I find myself wanting to put these on rather than just wearing socks around the house. I purchased the EMU Men's Bubba just a couple days ago, and paid for overnight shipping. I received them today. At first impression, I was very happy to see they had the color of the Bubba's shown on EMU's own website they are not so orange, but rather tan as they should be. I immediately put them on with a light weight crew sock. Normally I wear a size 11 US in most shoes. Having read reviews on other EMU slippers, I followed the advice and ordered a full size larger (size 12 US). My left foot is just a fraction of an inch longer than my right foot, so I was a little surprised that the RIGHT slipper was a little more snug than the left. Nevertheless, they felt very comfortable. I new that if I traded up to a 13 they would be much to large. As far as comfort goes, they felt amazing! Like walking in pillows warm, soft, and very breathable! In that sense, they do not disappoint. Unfortunately, (and here's the gotcha'), after wearing them for only two hours, the arch (or tongue) on top of the left slipper began tearing away from the stitching, leaving a tear about a half inch long! Not what I expected from EMU. After all...EMU is owned by UGG Australia. Close inspection of the shoes leads me to believe they are of generally good quality. I could not see any other areas that looked like they might also tear at the stitching. It appears this may be a manufacturing defect in this pair. So, I am sending them back for an exchange of the same size and color, and will try one more time. I was pleasantly surprised this evening to find that Amazon will be sending me a new pair right away, and they are sending UPS to pick these up (pre-paid by Amazon). So I won't have to wait until they get mine back before receiving a new pair. You can't complain about that kind of customer service. Amazon is top notch! I'll return in a few days to post another review with new information about my new pair. In closing, I wouldn't discourage anyone from ordering these slippers. They are probably well-worth the gamble at this price. Especially knowing how great Amazon is to work with. You'll often read statements from reviewers of slippers that "they slip off my heel", or "they dont fit like my shoes". I've owned slippers most of my life (I'm 47) and I should say that slippers NEVER fit like shoes! They aren't supposed to. Unless you buy a pair that is quite snug, all slippers are likely to slip a little at the heel. Youi should expect it...I actually like the fact they don't feel as tight as shoes or I'd just wear shoes, right? Finally, I do suggest you order one full size larger than you normally wear. The thick shearling lining takes up a lot of space. Ordering a size larger will allow you to wear some light to medium weight socks, or to even go bearfoot with your slippers.
