This will be my 3rd (and 4th) season on the Ronin. The Mizuno shoe wizard worked for my feet and running style. I run with these for my 10Ks, 15Ks, and half-marathons as they have just enough cushioning that I need, and I still use them for my 5Ks as they're so light weight. One trick I do is buy the previous years model you can get about 2 for 1 (which I do!).

I got these shoes mainly because a buddy of mine had some and my Musha 4's were coming to the end of their life.
The Musha 5 wasn't avaiable, I was hoping it was going to be really something, it wasn't, the Musha 4 is better.
Back to the Ronin. Really like the shoe. It has a "slipper" feel to it rather than the "dancing pump" of the Musha 4. I prefer the Musha, but I'm happy in the Ronin.
The construction gives you a lot of room in the toebox but the feel is that its a narrow platform. I've logged a lot of hours in them now. Done a few half and 30K runs in them.
Satisfied. If you want an 8mm shoe for training or casual racing then this is a really nice option.
If you want an outright racer get the Ekiden, if Mizuno is your brand of choice.
Best Deals on Mizuno Men's Wave Ronin 4 Running Shoe
I like how this Running shoe has lasted a long time considering that I run at least 15 miles a week. I've had this pair for 8 months now. It's light, has a good arch, laces don't untie as much when running, and It is comfortable. I do not like the design on this shoe. Great colors though. I chose this pair of running shoes because my friend recommended it to me when I ran a 10 mile run and I had shoe problems (tendonitis & runners knee) with my free runs. It has a long wear and tear life. This running shoe is more for older people. Young runners won't have tendonitis problems with most shoes until they get older.
Honest reviews on Mizuno Men's Wave Ronin 4 Running Shoe
I've stuck with the Wave Ronin since Ver 1. I've also simultaneously tried New Balance's low profile option, but I'm sticking with the Ronin. Its Light and give you just that little bit more cushion than a total minimalist option. The last two pairs, I've ordered from Amazon and I've been satisfied. I don't give it 5 stars because, I feel like Mizuno has started to skimp on the sole quality. My version 2's are still going and my version 3's soles wore out. The jury is out on version 4. Even though the padding breaks down, if the sole is still good, then I keep the shoe to beat around in. Any way all in all pretty good. i do 20-30 miles a week and race here and there.

These shoes are lightweight, stylish, and perfect for road racing and speed workouts. These shoes are not the minimalist-type, but not the type that adds 1 inch of sole under your feet either. Since these are very lean and lightweight shoes I am a bit worried about their durability, but I am not concerned because I'm saving these for "speedy" occasions and not for regular high mileage training runs. Mizuno shoes always seem to accommodate my feet well and fit without causing pain or irritation, and this pair was no exception. However I believe no shoes can be made for everyone, and I strongly encourage trying them on in a store before buying them or be mindful that there is a chance that you may end up returning them if they don't fit well.
