I am a happy customer of Asics. After purchasing the Gel-Kahana 2, and the Gel-Phoenix I thought I'd give the Gel-Frantic 5 a try. One thing to note is, the Gel-Frantic 5 has no Duo-Max stability bar. Which adds to the comfort, depending on your foot's shape or condition.
It is very stylish,(I got the Lime Green kind) comfortable, and light. It is very good in the gym or for any casual walk, jog, and run. They are so comfortable that I usually forget I'm wearing them and keep them on in the house! Now they are not 'Crocs' light but light enough to stay on your foot for hours without becoming a burden like other running shoes.
I will say these shoes are not for climbing or in water, but by the looks of them you should understand why. Now if your a heavy climber get the Gel-Kahana type they are more sturdy with better treads for more traction. The Gel-Kahana is not for running as they are quite heavy and have so much support (Duo-Max).
The Gel-Frantic 5 is also built very well. Very sturdy, with the shocks in the back to absorb shock from jumping or running. Breathing holes are located on the top and sides of the shoe so your feet won't sweat. Feels very nice around the foot, as the gel molds to your feet's sole for ultimate comfort.
If your looking for a stylish running shoe that doesn't lack support and comfort, this shoe is right for your daily activities. Good luck!

I'm an underpronator that does alot of shorter, hard runs, and interval training, usually 5k and under, to train for boxing and the occasional 5k race. While these do tend to correct underpronation (at least try to) the roll-off is VERY clunky, and they tend to hard-edge my left foot, resulting in peroneal tendinitis-type pain. some cushion in the heel, but considering that i walk around at 195 lbs, the midsole is still way too hard, resulting in heel pain. almost no cushion in the forefoot. I actually thought i might have broken a small bone in my left forefoot after just two easy 5k training runs. The pain was intense. if you are neutral and don't mind a clunky roll-off, these probably won't hurt, and could be used for walking/light jogs. If you weigh more than the average runner, or underpronate (the very thing these are SUPPOSED to correct) steer clear of these for anything other than casual wear. they just aren't made for running. Get a pair of asics gel 1150s instead (cheaper, smooth roll-off, reasonable support, and feel like pillows on my feet, as they were the softest cushioned shoe tested by runner's world to date: love these shoes).
Best Deals on ASICS Men's GEL-Frantic 5 Running Shoe
I purchased this pair of shoes a month ago. At the beginning I was skeptical due to the fact I did not too much about Asics. Let me tell you something, these shoes are really comfortable for walking, running and casual walk. They seem to be well design and excellent quality.
Honest reviews on ASICS Men's GEL-Frantic 5 Running Shoe
First of all I think ASICS are the best running shoes but these are really nice and trendy. I have never seen them before and cant buy them in a store. This product came to be in a very timely manner, and I live in Hawaii. Product was still in the box and was in mint condition.

Hello & welcome to my review. I came across the shoe maker Asics about 8 years ago. I noticed that in my wardrobe that these single pair of Asics I owned back then were the onces that had lasted me the longest with still adequate comfort. I have bought 4 pairs since of the Asics brand. These Gel-Frantic 5's are my 5th. Bought from Amazon USA I paid (EURO) 116 incl all necessary taxes etc. I am using them about 3 weeks now. They are pretty fantastic. I imagine they are better than Adidas microbounce and the likes because of the nice simplistic quality of them. They look really good when running or walking. They show a nice flick of that white reflective material as the legs trot up and down. My forth pair are the Gel-Noosa Triathlon. I use them about, they are nice with jeans in the summer. The Gel-Frantic 5 anyhow resemble a football boot I feel. They don't stand out too much, however, my next door naybour was down on her knees looking them up. They tie up well. They are very comfortable. Also I have had size US12 on all my Asics and the Gel-Frantic 5 fit in the same fashion. They hold the 'made in Vietnam' trademark so again its a quality product. I would hope nothing will start pealing which has occurred with a couple of pairs. Anyway I think of Asics when I want durability in a running shoe as they tend to fall apart with still holding their comfort and usability! They are a good shoe I can say that I recommend! I hope you enjoyed reading and a further understanding of what I think of Asics footwear.
