Need to buy a full size larger than you normally wear. Comfortable fit but shoes don't breathe allowing for some sticky and smelly FO. Keep your foot powder on hand.Best Deals on Saucony Women's Hattori AW Running Shoe
My chiropractor suggested I switch to a minimalist running shoe. I remembered that a running expert from whom I've taken classes in the past had blogged about a Saucony minimalist shoe. I've been wearing Saucony brand running shoes since high school and that is my "go to" brand, so I found the expert's blog and it was this shoe, the Hattori. Here's a link to the blog, if you're interested (he also discusses transitioning to a minimalist shoe):This shoe is like wearing a river shoe -it is extremely light, has a good sole, and an almost neoprene-like top. It also fits like a river shoe, it's kind of like slipping your foot into a glove with one velcro closure. The bottom reminds me of the insoles of Saucony's "regular" running shoes with additional support at the points of impact. The inside has a slight cushion, again, like their usual insoles. I'm very happy running in these (and I had been avoiding the minimalist shoes in case they were a fad).
As I stated in the headline and as repeated in other reviews -size up! I wear an 8.5 in dress shoes and a 9.5 in running and hiking shoes. I started with a 9.5 in the Hattori, but it was too short. I am happy with the 10 although I probably would've been fine with a 10.5 as well, so use that as your gauge when sizing.
This particular shoe is the "all weather (AW)" for running in the rain (I also bought a regular pair). The day after I received this, it rained so I was able to try them out. My feet were completely dry at the end of my run. Nice!
