I started out running in Vibram's because of hammer toes, but was having a hard time adjusting under the the balls of my feet. I decided to give these a shot, but was sure my toes would ache as usual.
I was completelyinside wrong. These are the best shoes I could imagine for running.

These shoes feel like a dream! I have been stuck in bulky high-end motion control running shoes with expensive custom orthodics for the last few years after my right arch collapsed. I thought I would be stuck for the rest of my life wearing running shoes with orthodics (forget about cute little fashion shoes) but I was wrong! The first time I put these shoes on they just felt right. They feel amazing! These shoes feel like what nature intended for people who want a barefoot feel in a concrete world. I love the zero drop technology. My running form has improved and feels more natural. My knees aren't bumping past each other because I'm not heel striking and pronating like I used to. My knees and hips feel better and my feet are getting stronger again. The Altra company will answer any questions and guide you to the correct shoe if you need any help. I've been running for 30 years or so and these are my favorites. I'm going to order a 2nd pair just for training and racing because I find myself wearing these all day long. By the way, I'm not wearing my orthodics (which the podiatrist said I would need to wear for the rest of my life) after only 2.5 weeks of transitioning. (See Altra's shoe transition guide).

This brand has become hard to come by in the local running stores. I bought a pair on sale last summer and loved them. Unfortunately when I tried to replace them i could not find my size in any store. My last pair was the Intuition and I put a ton of miles on them...super comfortable and great running. This pair is the "upgrade" to the Provisionist. Time will tell but I love the dark color combination.

I got these yesterday and have only used them once so far, but I am already in love with these shoes. I got them because of the foot shape, in normal shoes my toes feel scrunched and uncomfortable when I am running. There is tons of room in these and I can wiggle my toes freely. Inside the box it says that if the fit is right it should feel like you are wearing slippers, and that is literally what it feels like. These do run small like everyone has said, I normally wear a 9.5 and ordered a 10 and they are perfect when I take out the stability wedge, I think I would need to go up to 10.5 to use the wedge.

I run in the Altra Intuition and hike in the Altra Lone Peak and love both shoes. However, I'm training for a marathon and am having pain in my right arch on long runs. Altra recommended the Provisioness for better support. With the stability wedge, these shoes do not fit like the other Altras. Even without the wedge, the toe box did not seem roomy enough for my toes to splay. Also, the additional support was too much and made my arches hurt more. I sent them back, but I still love Altra!
