Review of New Balance Men's ML574 Windbreaker Fashion Sneaker

This is a FUN shoe. One doesn't buy this for "fitness" but rather fashion. I think if you had to run a marathon in these you'd severely damage your feet; the support isn't all that great and the cushioning is poor. That said...

I love them!

They look great. The color is awesome; they look retro (70's) and the comfort high. Either blue jean or shorts, these scream summertime. Moreover, like a lightning bug, you'll get noticed from a mile away.

I'm giving it four stars because it seems they are an effort to keep clean, as the slightest smudge show up.

But here's the low-down...

If you plan on going for a jog, these are not the shoes for you.

If you plan on walking 20+ blocks in Manhattan, these are not the shoes for you.

If it's raining or muddy, these are not the shoes for you...

If it's 90's, sunny and hot you're wearing shorts and plan on taking your girlfriend to the movies (indoors at the mall or whatnot) they're perfect!

If you're going to the beach, on the equally hot, sunny 90 degree day, and want something to wear on the boardwalk so you don't burn your toes on the hot sand or boardwalk, they're perfect!

If it's 4th of july and you're at a BBQ and don't want to slip at poolside they're perfect!

Afterwards, you want to go to the fireworks show, so long as the field isn't muddy, they're perfect!

You're relaxing at home, some friend come over and you want a talking point, as everybody cracks up at your Bumble-Bee shoes, they're perfect!

Great color to add to the collection. Own roughly 15 different pairs of New Balance 574s, currently. Have received many comments on the color from people. Make sure to spray with water proof/stain resistance before wearing to ensure long dirt free life. Would recommend to anyone looking for a colorful sneaker. Order a half size larger than you would normally wear as the shoe seems to run small.

These new ML574's from New Balance are a great next step in this family of shoes. The new brighter color really highlights the traditionaly look and feel of these shoes.

They run true to size, but do your research on the width to make sure you pick the right width.

This was my second pair of New Balance bought from Amazon. I really LOVE shopping on Amazon and always buy shoes here. In comparison to the last pair, these appeared to be a little dirty. Not dirty as in "worn dirty" but "blemished from factory lines" dirty. The yellow in a couple places was a burnt yellowy color. It was REALLLY minimal, but still... I was let down on the quality.
