I had battled several injuries and was in pretty intense physical therapy just to not have to WALK Boston, but after qualifying, I was sure going! I had self-prescribed running shoes and chosen poorly. With a week to go for the race, in desperation, I spoke to my physical therapist (who runs a running clinic, not just generic PT) who recommended this shoe. I live by the mantra "nothing new on race day," but at least with this shoe, I had a CHANCE of them not hurting--the old ones definitely hurt. NO PROBLEM, AND I RE-QUALIFIED! I couldn't be happier. They are not commonly stocked at many running stores. When it came time for a new pair, being impatient, I went with another pair the salesperson said was similar, and came home with a huge blood blister on my bunion after the first run. I am now ready for another new pair, so am happily going back to this shoe. There has been an update that is being ordered for me that I will try, but any friction on my foot at all and I will order these. Great shoe! NO CONS! I even liked the color.Best Deals on ASICS Women's GEL-DS Sky Speed Running Shoe
I love the color, weight and comfort of these shoes. I always buy running shoes a size larger than I normally wear. I wear a 6 1/2 and buy running shoes in a 7 1/2...these run larger than Brooks, Nike, NB so I wish I would have ordered a 7 instead of 7 1/2.Honest reviews on ASICS Women's GEL-DS Sky Speed Running Shoe
First let me say that the color is called limelight, but make no mistake they are bright yellow. I was hoping for a greenish-yellow. But the color isn't what made me return these shoes...The laces are very odd they kind-of go off at an angle to the inner foot. There is also a large gap from the front of the shoe to the spot where the laces start. I wear a size 10 so this made my feet like enormous! However the bigger problem was that it didn't allow me to tighten the shoe until I was well over my arch. There is a looseness over the ball of my foot that I feel like I could correct in most shoes by tightening the laces.
Next, the heel had a weird feel to it; it almost felt like it was uneven with the outside half of the heel feeling higher than the inner half. It also was tight on my heel and I have narrow feet! It felt like it was squeezing my heel.
Finally, these are not true-to-size. I have two other pairs of Asics and I wear a size 10; I always wear a size 10 in flats and sneakers (I'm a toss-up between a 9 1/2 and a 10 for pumps). I ordered a size 10 here and there are definitely too big a thick pair of socks would not do the trick here. If I liked them otherwise, I might have tried a 9 1/2 but I'm not even sure they would have worked as these seemed VERY big for a 10. In the end, these were NOT the shoes for me and I had to return them...
