I previously bought into the barefoot "minimal" shoe trend running in vibrams and merrel trail glove which worked well until I started to increase my mileage consistently running over 10 miles in them until I suffered a stress fracture in my foot. This was probably due to all the poundage on the hard pavement surfaces I ran on, so after recovery I was looking for a shoe with more cushion but also being lightweight at the same time. The Sketchers Go Run are amazing they are almost as light as my old barefoot shoes but also have plenty of cushion that I won't be scared to run long miles in. Ontop of the this, the midfoot is slightly elevated to help prevent heel striking and thus increasing your running economy. They fit true to their size, and there is plenty of room in forefoot for people with slightly wide feet like mine. These were a steal for under $40, and my only complaints are that the insole is not removable, which is not the best after running in the rain, and there could be some more ventilation.Discount Skechers Men's Go Running Shoe

I thought I would give these shoes a try since my budget did not allow for my usual purchase of high end running shoes. Since my feet are wide through the ball of my foot, I have a difficult time finding shoes that don't cause pain during my 30-35 K/wk. these shoes seem made for my foot type. They are lightweight and so far are adequate in cushioning for my 200lb body. I rate them high because of the cost compared to comfort.
