The 16's in the US15/2E size are almost generous in their fit, which is a real luxury for me. I haven't yet done more than a 15km run with them, normally it is above the half-marathon distance where my feet spread and I need more space. They seem quite light in weight, although I possibly heavier than I remember my 12's used to be. The fit is generally good, the heel fit is very slightly looser, but OK once I used the last lace eyelets.
The front sole is not as stiff as the 15 were, which was one of the main reasons I didn't like them. They feel quite responsive, but not so in comparison to my Brooks Pure Flow which I've gotten used to in the meanwhile. From new the shoes did not feel to have an overdose of padding under the forefoot, and didn't have that bouncy feel that some new shoes, including the older WR, have for the first few miles. This is fine by me, but others might like more padding.
I like the breathable uppers, I suspect they will be nice and cool in the summer at the moment the ventilation is icy (its well under freezing here at the moment). I like the design, the garish yellow is, well garish.
So is this a replacement for the much missed older WR's, I've moved on a bit with my taste of shoe since then, but the choice of large comfortable lightweight shoes on the market is still very limited. When the next marathon has been run in these, I'll be able to say for sure. For now I'm reasonably happy.

Very impressed with the comfort and durability; especially for my 200 pound frame. I definetly rank the Wave Rider 16 on top with the Brooks Glycerine series.Best Deals on Mizuno Men's Wave Rider 16 Running Shoe
I went to Mizuno's website and went through their self test for the right shoe line and I have to say these are the most comfortable shoes I have ever ownedHonest reviews on Mizuno Men's Wave Rider 16 Running Shoe
I love my Mizuno Wave Rider 15s and was a little worried that they would change something for the worse, with the redesign. I'm happy to report that they didn't change a thing, except for the styling (and possibly shaved a little weight). The fit, feel, comfort, and ride of these shoes is exactly as great as they were before. Whether you are new to the Mizuno Wave Rider's or have been running them for years, these won't disappointed you. They are great. I run between 4 and 8 miles in them every day (alternating shoes each day), and I absolutely love them. I also have a pair of the far more expensive Mizuno Prophets, and find the Wave Rider's to be far more comfortable, especially over longer differences. On their website, Mizuno reports that they shaved half an ounce off of these. I don't doubt them, but personally can't feel the difference.
