For two months I had suffered from pain in my left heel. I tried stretching, regular doses of ibuprofen, and changing shoes. Nothing worked, and I was constantly limping like an 80-year-old man. Finally I went to see my doctor. One x-ray later, he told me that I had a heel spur / plantar fasciitis.
On his recommendation, I bought this product. Now, a week later and I can finally walk normally. I am not completely pain free (yet), but I'm about 90% better than I was, and I can once again walk or jog to my heart's content without resorting to daily doses of painkillers. These orthotics fit snugly on the bottom of my shoes and do not slip. In fact, I have already bought two extra pairs to go in my other shoes.
For the price, these orthotics are absolutely amazing. My only worry is that Dr. Scholl's might someday stop making them!

Just a follow-up to my original review: I've now been using these orthotics for about 9 months. I still occasionally have a small twinge in my left heel, but I am completely free of pain 99.5% of the time. I can walk, work, and exercise normally. I have a set in every pair of shoes I own, and buy new ones as I replace my shoes. I highly recommend Dr. Scholl's orthotics.

Yet another follow-up: 14 months after starting to use these orthotics, my heel spur is a distant fading memory. It has been months since I felt any pain from it. I continue to use these orthotics in every pair of shoes I wear. You simply cannot put a price on the ability to walk and jog without pain.

I can only present my experience and we all have different body types and feet so this may not work for the person next to me.I work standing up on concrete floors all day. Over the past five years I have suffered off and on from plantar fasciitis (aka stone bruise, heel spur)on the heel of my right foot. This past summer I fished so much that the stress of my studded wading boots (which completely lack any heel cushioning) triggered the inflammation of my right heel. I have tried various off the shelf products and have seen specialists in the past. I do not want surgery or periodic cortisone injections. I really do not want to spend a lot of money. This product works well.....extremely well for the price. Most importantly it does not aggravate the injury. Coupled with a decent shoe (my current choice is Brooks Addiction 7) I would say it relieves 90% or more of the pain. I would recommend researching a decent shoe and using this product as the first option for plantar fasciitis.Best Deals on Dr Scholl's Pro Pain Relief Orthotics for Heel
I have plantar fasciitis in my left foot, and although this orthotic hasn't fixed the problem, it really helps. Today I went without them to see if I still need them, and my foot started to hurt. My feet also tend to hurt when I'm cycling, so I decided to try these orthotics, and they made a night-and-day difference. With cycling shoes, it's best not to cushion the ball of the foot too much, if you care about maximum performance, and since these inserts only go halfway up the foot, they're perfect. My only complaint is that the arch support is a little too high and can be a little uncomfortable. Still, they're absolutely worth the money, and I've tried other types.Honest reviews on Dr Scholl's Pro Pain Relief Orthotics for Heel
I periodically suffer from plantar fasciitis, which as those of us who get it know, can be quite painful. For me, when it flares up, I typically have heel pain for about two months before it subsides. As I really don't want a cortisone shot in my heel, I will put up with a lot of pain. During my current espisode, though, the pain had lasted for close to four months, and I was resigned to having to go to the podiatrist. I decided to give these orthotics a try as a last resort, and to be honest, my expectations were very low.The first day I wore them, they seemed to help a little. But over the following few days, the pain in my heel subsided greatly, and now, after two weeks, I would say 90 percent of the pain is gone, and there are times when I'm able to walk almost pain-free. I'm hopeful that all of the pain will be gone in another week or so. While I still don't know how an inexpensive foam pad in my shoes can help relieve the pain of plantar fasciitis, I have to say that for me, they did.
Please note though, to paraphrase the old saying, the person who acts as his own doctor has a fool for a patient, and that you really should have a medical professional examine you if you have long term pain. And also note, that even for a relatively common condition such as plantar fasciitis, what works for one person may not work for another. But I have to say that these orthotics are worth trying, and I recommend them, subject to the above cautions. They worked for me.
