I really love these shoes and have several pairs, regular and just got the climashield. Really helped my plantar fasciitis flare up. I have custom orthotics in them, but even without them, they seem to have good arch support and hold your heel in place nicely. Very roomy toe box as well. Some say they run big, but I have found them true to size (though my orthotics take up a little extra room). Fun color choices as well. And after adjusting a little, I am finding the no tie laces pretty nice and convenient.

A good balance of stiff and give for light hiking, rocks and sand. Breathes but fabric is tight enough to keep out sand and light water. Recomended

I have to start off my review by saying this is my third pair of the Salomon Trail Shoes and was already a big fan before ordering. I have to buy all of my shoes online because I live in an isolated area of Alaska. I trust Salomon to fit as expected and I was not disappointed. The clima-shield is not 100% waterproof, like you might find with a Gortex product. But, they keep my feet dry on both trails and doing errands. It rains a lot in Sitka, AK and these shoes are much more comfortable (and stylish) than rain boots!

These run a little large, my daughter normally takes a women's 9. But it's a great shoe. I got because of the water resistance and breathability she can wear it all day at school. Plus it takes the beating well. Wish it was a bit more affordable as her foot is still growing — but you do what you have to get your kids the right thing!
