Good overall boot, sharp looking with good ankle support. Good grippy tread and comfortable footpad. One of the problems I have with this boot is that the excess material around the tongue tends to bunch up. Unless you tuck it in properly, you end up with chaffing/blisters on the instep part of your feet like I had. Another thing was there was not much padding around the ankle area.They are also quite hot and don't breathe well so if you live in a hot, humid state like Florida, you may want something else.

In the end, I think they are not worth the pricetag they carry. The soles look well constructed but hey, they are not Vibram soles and only time will tell how they hold up.

I have had a hard time finding a boot that I find satisfactory for daily use. I've tried combat boots, hiking boots, work boots, ect. During my time in Iraq I saw Special Ops types wearing these boots so I tried them out. Oh man I was blown away. Absolute comfort, and unmatched water proofing.

I have owned four pairs of Asolos in the past 5 and a half years. ok i know what your saying ALMOST ONE PAIR A YEAR THATS A RIPOFF!! Well no, these are the best boots I have ever found the first two where fugitives and the last two where Flame GTXs including the current pair. I do admit I am hell on boots, from steel work, reppelling and climbing lost and lots of climbing, Im talking months and months of this stuff with out switching boots. These are not work boots and are not designed for extreme working conditions saying that, these hold up just as long as my other work boots but they are more comfortable stay dry cool, the soles hold up and are stiff as boards perfect for rocky services. To be fare I have had the stitching tear, soles separate and laces break.

Either way I look at it the boots are great and I will be getting another pair. If you are an occasional hiker and need a great pair of boots this is the pair that will last you a long time. One of the reviewers said 5 years and I believe him they are tuff just not the ideal working boot.

The boots are the very best on the market . I have had a pair before , and held up great for the abuse of long distant hiking and the ups and downs of mountain hiking. Moosejaw is a super outfit , bought several high priced items , and am very pleased with the service they give. The boots stand alone in a league of their own , as does Moosejaw ..... thanks so much , and i am a client for life .

Bought for scout hiking the Philmont scout ranch.

Very little break in time needed.

Boot kept him warm, dry , blister free and supported throughout the 120 hike.

Only problem is , he has outgrown the boot from 10.5 to 12 in 10 month span....

Love the boot. Asolo was highest recommened from local store
