I am ordering my second pair The first pair have done great, have four 50 mile races on them, have two small rips around the toe where the rubber meets the fabric. The shoe has two layers however, and are still quite usable. The rips are due to the technical nature if the trails I ran, not any fault of the shoes.
Bottom line: Great shoes for trail running.

These kicks made a real difference navigating Tough Mudder obstacles and never let me down. Running up the mud slopes when most were slithering up and then being able to step half way back down to help team mates and other Mudders up, running up the Everest half pipe with treads full of mud yet still reaching the top on the first attempt, completing the muddy log jumping and twinkle toes balance beam without falling, swimming with these shoes and running, jogging, walking and crawling 12 miles over mud, asphalt, gravel, packed dirt proved to me these shoes were worth it. When you need all terrain road, mud and off road traction in a Jeep, you buy good AT tires. These are AT shoes. It took a bit to get the mud out and expect to replace the insoles but you won't regret buying these.Best Deals on La Sportiva Men's C-Lite 2.0 Trail Running Shoe
Awesome Mudder shoe! Great tread and comfort with lace sleeve that works! I'd recommend this shoe to any light trail/mudders out there.Honest reviews on La Sportiva Men's C-Lite 2.0 Trail Running Shoe
Pro: This shoe has exceptional traction and foot stability, some of the best I've ever run in. The traction comes from a durable sole with large, deep lugs. I think these would be great for muddy runs, deep dust or duff, and snow. The foot is wrapped really tightly with what feels like a few layers of nylon. Overall the shoe feels very tight, almost glove-like. It can be really claustrophobic for your foot at first. That being said, this shoe has to be broken in a bit, and probably ordered a size up from what you typically wear for race shoes. It has a built in scree gator to keep out dirt from the top of the foot.Con: The shoe is really uncomfortable at first. It truly smarts on the outside of the foot while breaking in. I took them for an arduous 13 mile mountain run and they blackened a couple of toes and gave my toes some small blisters. But I actually expected worst. However, what remains truly annoying about these shoes is the built in scree-gator keeps me from accessing my laces. I don't even know why they put laces on these shoes. You can't actually access the laces except for the very top of the shoe. You'd be in trouble if you took the laces out. It might take you all day to get them in. I just loosened them as much as I could. And have left them like that since. The gator is really what keeps the shoe on the foot. And you can't adjust that, or raise it at all.
Overall, these are a great shoe to run in (after breaking them in!) They take some getting used to, since they don't have the traditional lacing design. But you should definitely consider buying these if you take on seriously rugged trails. And I might say that these shoes are explicitly made for trails. They don't belong in your road-racing wardrobe.
