I needed to replace my cycling shoes, and these have been great. I use SPD pedals, but I'm not a mountain biker, and so I wanted to find a pair of shoes that fit well for touring and road biking. These are ideal--contrary to what they are marked as by Amazon, they are touring shoes, not mountain biking shoes. They are well-made, comfortable, and easy to walk in, but they don't have a hiking tread. The footbed itself is slightly less flexible than a typical mountain biking shoe (in that way, closer to a road shoe), which is good for pedaling long distances. The velcro fasteners hold your foot into place well. When ordering them, I was worried about numbness, etc., but I've worn them on several longer rides--including one century--without any problems or discomfort.

The one issue I had, however, was the sizing. Other shoes I've ordered in Euro sizes have been 44 or 45--I'm between the two, normally--but the size 45 shoe was too small (lengthwise--the width was fine). So, I returned them and got a 46, which fit perfectly.

I like these shoes because I can walk in them for short distances. The soles are stiff and smooth but they have a rubbery coating so they are not slippery. The SPD cleats are recessed so I don't stumble over them. They are too stiff for proper walking shoes, so I cannot go far in them, but they are fine for a short walk into a shop or cafe.

Compared to SPD-SL shoes, these are more comfortable, but a little heavier. They are well-made, with quality materials and stitching and I expect them to last a long time.

I can put my foot down with confidence, I don't have to remove my shoes whenever I get off the bike, and I don't stumble around, making strange noises and looking like a dork.

This is a good shoes for biking but if you would like to walk a little bit with this shoes then don't get it because there are better shoes out there which can perform little bit of walking and biking. it has huge bump bottom of the shoes that makes walking so uncomfortable.

Just what I have been looking for! A road shoe that I didn't have to duckwalk and clackity-clack around in.

This shoe has a recessed cleat so you don't have to skatewalk around the coffee shop or convienace store.

It also has the rubber sole for non-slip riding when unclipped approaching an intersection etc.

I see these advertised as a mountain shoe..They are NOT mountain shoes. No aggressive tread,just hard rubber soles.

The velcro straps work great too! I do triathalons so no buckles to fumble with is great.

I was looking for shoes that would work on both my old mountain bike, as well as a new road or cyclocross bike I will purchase in the future, and will put SPD pedals on as well. (While I enjoy riding, being of a certain age I'm not planning on competitive cycling.) These shoes filled the bill perfectly.

One minor quibble: the documentation that came with the shoe was in many languages, but could have been much clearer at least in English -i.e. how the shoe plate is mounted under the sock liner of the shoe, the positioning of the sticker, which side of the cleat is mounted against the shoe, etc. The diagrams were not detailed enough to help. But after I got the cleats mounted, I was very happy with the shoes.
