I would rate the Skechers brand as having a build quality equal to anything by the major brand names in running. These are not discount box store shoes or what the major brands make for those stores. The Skechers stuff is well put together and looks very nice. It seems to fit true to size. For me that is a size 12 and the Goruns were spot on.
In these Gorun rides the upper is extremely comfortable. I thought the originals Gorun upper was a bit more sock like, but this upper is close. The Gorun series uppers are among the best I have experienced. It comes with 2 colors of laces as well. In my case white or grey as I got the white/grey shoe.
The sole is more plush than the original Goruns and the rocker effect is lessened. For me I really don't feel any rocker effect in the new version. On the originals and the prospeeds the rocker was very noticebale walking and standing but lessened when running at speed. I almost felt like a boat having to get up on plane with the two others shoes but this one is comfortable walking and running. As far as the softer ride, that may be a postive or a negative depending on your personal preference. For racing or speed work, I like the firmer Goruns, but for training purposes the Gorun rides to me feel much better. The soles on these seem to be the same foam as the originals, just a bit thicker. The soles also have a few added harder rubber points which should help the sole last longer especially on the toe off.
I have also used these for cross training and they work well. I think Skechers is doing a nice job with their Gorun series. Sheos are well built, comfortable, and the color choices are actually very nice. I would buy it again and I look forward to putting more miles on the ones I have this spring and summer when I can get outdoors more.

Well this was my first pair of legitimate running shoes I have ever owned, as well as the first pair of Skechers. I have been wearing these for 8mile walks, and short runs and am blown away by the comfort and spring added to your step! They are so light and the fabric is amazing its like you are hardly wearing a shoe at all but not feeling rocks and sticks that you step on reminds you that you indeed do have shoes on.I loved them so much my girlfriend bought the same pair for females, and she is as amazed as I am with the overall performance and comfort of these shoes. I will definitely be purchasing these again when the time comes.
The size is the same as any other shoe I have worn, so just order your usual shoe size and it should fit fine.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Excellent sole support and very light. I much prefer this to the other "barefoot" sneakers like Nike Free b/c this is more roomy.Honest reviews on Skechers Men's Go Run Ride ULTRA
Let me start off with a disclaimer: I am not a runner. That said, I love these shoes. I have bad knees and a seriously damaged foot and these shoes make walking a pleasure again. I don't know how they are for runners, but you should get these even if you are not a runner.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Skechers Men's Go Run Ride ULTRA
This is a truly outstanding shoe. A bit about me. 6'1", 170-175 pounds. 40 years old, former sprinter. I am just getting into long distance, preparing for some marathons this year. I have wide feet as well, but like a snug fit in the heel. I am a mid to forefoot striker. I am a 'muscular' runner, big calves, big thighs. Low body fat %, not you typical distance runner!Previously I tried the following:
Mizuno Wave Precision 13 great shoe, but the drop is far too much. I was looking for 0-5mm drop. Ran a few hundred miles in these, but developed some calf issues due to the unnatural positioning needed to mid/forefoot strike with a large drop shoe.
Moved on to the Saucony Kinvara 3 in EE width. Great shoe, but in the EE width it is extremely difficult to get a snug fit in the heel. Still, I have these shoes, and use on occasion.
Tried the Saucony Fastwitch 5....huge mistake. 100 miles and developed Morton's Neuroma due to the narrow width.
Switched to the New Balance 730....thought I had a winner here! raced in these and they are fast. Minimalist, but some protection. Turns out not enough, but these are close. Also...although they are wide in the toe box, the height is not great, and developed some top of foot issues (was concerned I had a stress fracture or a bone spur!). Used for 450 miles, but did not get more of these
Tried the Altra Instinct. Nice and wide up front. 0 drop but I had no issue with this. The shoe is stiff, however....does not flex with the foot, and the landing, although cushioned, is ...harsh. A noticeable 'thwap' when you hit the ground. Plus if you do not tie it perfectly, it rubs the Achilles until it is bloody. No reselling these due to the blood stains!
Finally, I, for fun, tried the Skechers Go Run Ride Ultra.
First run in these was a 12 mile run at marathon pace, an interval. I knew from the first mile that I had a winner. The pluses of this shoe are:
nice wide toe box, and wide in the midfoot
snug in the heel...not tight, but not sloppy
light weight....as light as my New Balance 730 !!!!
cushioned fantastic cushioning, amazing what Skechers has done with a shoe that is pretty low to the ground. This is not a barefoot shoe, but this is also not a thick trainer. Same height as the Kinvara, essentially
comfort I have this separate from cushioning, as the feel of the shoe on the foot is magnificent. No blisters, no rubbing raw the achilles like the Altra Instincts
fast Sure, this is subjective, but these shoes are very fast. 4 mm drop which I think is perfect, light weight, easy on the feet...fast!
promotes a mid-foot strike.
I now own 4 pair of these....and will continue to stock up.
