After hearing/reading about the benefits of running AND lifting with bare feet/minimal gear I bought some Vibram 5 Fingers. I like those, once you get the trick of how to get them on. However they are enough of a hassle that I didn't use them every time. After reading about the ZemGear online I decided to buy a pair. Very easy to get on, very COMFORTABLE. In fact, these are comfy to just wear around the house just because. They have excellent grip, so they're good for Yoga or bodyweight exercise floor work. Make sure to use ZemGear's own sizing chart, mine fit very well, and the high top I think makes for an even better fit. ZemGear says these are for indoor/outdoor use, but due to the grip of the sole I think they would wear out fast outside. These are PERFECT for indoor/gym use IMHO. Will give an update if I start wearing these outside.

First pair of this type of shoes, they feel and fit great. I will be using them to workout at my gym and would definitely buy another pair of these shoes. I wouldn't try and go hiking in them as in my opinin would probably be a bad idea...it's more of an alternative to wearing sandals and having covered feet. All in all would definitely recommend though.

I purchased these booties in my regular shoes size, and they fit just fine. I'd hesitate to purchase smaller because my heels might hang over the back of the sole. I've used them for an exercise my trainer refers to as the spider crawl, which has been too awkward a movement for regular shoes and caused blisters on my bare feet. I've also used them for kettle bell workouts and just tooling around the office. I'm more aware of my foot strike and my arches are getting stronger. At the end of the day my feet feel energized, as though I'd been barefoot.
I recently purchased the round toe bootie too, after my pleasant experience with the split toe not as stable.
My one complaint is that they don't come with the rubber outdoor sole. I initially purchased the low split toe with the rubber sole but the heel slides down and off my foot. The high split toe solves that problem but doesn't come in the outdoor version. Hopefully they will start making it.

I received the short version but decided to keep it. I should have returned it for the high version though. With the low cut, sand gets into the sock weighing it down and eventually squeezing my foot out so that I had to periodically stop to empty them. They did protect my feet from the hot sand though.

Asked the company about when they are going to restock and they swore up and down they would have new ones in in 2-3 weeks. that was several weeks ago. In Japan they have the sizes for sale at 2-3 times the price. Just not here.
