Although the shoe is extremely light, it provides enough impact reduction. I haven't yet worn it outdoors to test how long they last through wear and tear on pavement. The reason why I gave a 4 star is that they are a little loose in the toe box, but I am a woman and it might feel different on a guy's foot. If you are looking for an extremely lightweight yet someone impact reducing shoe, this is a good one to try.
