I switched to ASICS for my running sneakers a few years ago and I've never looked back. The Gel-Fortitude 5 is another stellar sneaker from ASICS. I have relatively flat arches and am prone to overpronate, but this sneaker's arch supports are excellent. ASICS may be a bit more pricey than some brands, but it's worth the investment.

Other shoe descriptions talk about wider toe box but the Asics Gel Fortitude delivers! This shoe has loads of room up front both in width and height. Full length orthotics from the podiatrist fit inside with no problem.

I purchased these for my father for Christmas. He's been having problems finding workout shoes he likes. He was previously a New Balance devotee but I convinced him to try the ASICS after I switched brands myself. He's really happy with the purchase no toe rubbing, plenty of support and he likes that they're lightweight. I couldn't recommend a better brand of running/walking shoes than ASICS.

I have had these for 3-4 years and they still work very well. Yes, the look of the shoe isn't all that but when you consider the advantages such as cushioning, tireless use and how this makes running seem effortless, the shoe is worth the price. I got it for a lot more than it is available for now. A steal at these prices if you can get your size.

I love Asics and I don't think I am going to try another major brand when I know these exist.

I strongly recommend this brand and this model if you are looking for shoes which have accurately devised heal that LAST LONG.

Heck, they still work for me.

I used to do a lot of treadmill and cross trainer but now I do a lot of concentrated weight training regimes, these are always the safest option.

Do I wear them outside of gym? NEVER.

I bought these when I started walking more often and had problems with bunions. These shoes are extremely comfortable. The cushioning makes it a joy to wear and walk in. And, my surgeon commented that he recommends his patients to wear these during recovery from bunion surgery.
