I had purchased the Plastic Shoe Heel plates (7) pair and I loved how fast they were shipped out. The seller was great on getting my order to me timely. Unfortunately I give this product a very low rating due to its durability. Like 5% of the population, I over-pronation while I walk which causes plantar Facsitus and subsequently wears down the soles of my shoes very quickly. I use custom orthotics to help me control the over-Pronation, but still strike my heels. I had purchased this product to help protect the heels from more premature wear. The product only lasted 2 weeks before significant wear started to happen. I will next try the metal plates to see how well they will hold up.

Simple review for a simple product.

This product does exactly what it was designed to do, and there is no learning curve.

Simply peel the adhering sticker, place it where you want in on the heel, and nail / screw it in.

Made of very durable plastic(?), even harder then the one my shoes and boots had on them

I installed these plates on my brand new shoes a couple weeks ago, and they are holding up very well. they are holding firm to the heel, and are taking the abuse of being the wear surface very well. I saw in some other reviews that people were having trouble with installation, so i thought I would share a couple tips from my experience:

1. Clean the bottom of the shoe thoroughly with rubbing alcohol and let it dry completely, this will best prepare the surface

for good adhesion with the plate.

2. use a pair of needle-nose pliers to hold the nail in place so you can really get a good whack at it without risking your

fingers (make sure the nail is perfectly centered in the hole so you will be able to get the head fully in the countersink

when it is driven home)

3. Don't try to just "tap" the nail in. Especially on the first hit, give it a good, full strike. If you try to lightly tap the

nail in, the rubber or leather sole surface is just going to laugh at you.

4. Make sure you sink the nails all the way flush to avoid marring any floor surfaces.

When I read a couple of the reviews, I was a little doubtful these would work but still decided to give them a try. I am so happy that I did. They are working just as I had hoped. If I would change anything, I would make the taps with rubber that isn't as hard, which can be just a bit slippery in the winter.
