We have always had problems simply finding shoes wide enough that fit our son, and have been forced to buy shoes 1.5-2 sizes bigger length just to squeeze in by width. After many, many, many failed shopping trips in pursuit to find a shoe, any show that fit, we went online and stumbled upon these in Extra Wide. Took a leap of faith and gave them a shot. Wow!!!

The XW are indeed really wide, so wide it's quite noticeable right out of the box. New Balance is the only sneaker company we can find that actually makes XW shoes for older toddlers, young boys this wide. The sneakers appear to be made quite well, good stitching, good feel, nice tougher sneaker soles.

For those of us who struggle mightily to find shoes wide enough, we strongly suggest buying in XW & stay true to your little one's shoe size in length. This is the only pair of shoes we have ever found in his 4+ years of life where we were able to stay true to length.

The selling point for these guys is YES, they are indeed wider than anything you can find in stores, almost to the point of being abnormally wide, and lets be honest, some of us have kids with abnormally wide feet. The sneakers are comfortable, true to size, well made, & no complaints of hurting feet. As far as design/style, I personally think it's blah, nothing to awe about, but then again we're just giddy to find a shoe that finally fits width-wise.

I bought these for my daughter for school. My daughter loves them. I saw some review that New Balance makes a bit narrow on width wise, so I had ordered W instead of M usually she wears M though. They have bit more extra space for growing and she says they are so comfortable. I'm quite happy with these pair!!

We couldn't find a regular sneaker anywhere in town. Everything in stock was nylon and neon. We feel very fortunate to be able to find it available through Amazon. We had this model before in a smaller size and are very satisfied with it. When he outgrows this pair, we will begin our search for the next size.
