I'm a mid-level runner (15-25 miles a week for over a year) who just started training for my first trail race in August (a 10K). I just purchased these shoes a couple days ago and am in the process of breaking them in. I have high arches and have a tendency to over-pronate. They are nicely cushioned, but light and have fantastic arch support for high arches like mine.

They also seem a little heavier than other trail shoes I've tried on (probably due to the extra cushioning in the arch), but given I have funny high-arched feet, my selection was limited (I'm a New Balance and Aasics fan so I have faith in them).

My only real beef with them is they are built long and narrow. I usually get 7.5 for running as my feet swell a little, but that size fit me like clown shoes and I found I had tons of toe space still going down a whole size. I also had to purchase wides (which sometimes I do) as they seemed super narrow--even compared to regular running shoes. I definately recommend trying a pair on locally before purchasing--unless you can get free returns.

They seem decent to run in so far. I will update my review in a few weeks to include more about their performance as I run a little more in them and get closer to my race.

I bought a pair of the NB 501 trail runners this past summer and I love-love-love them! They fit great from the first time I wore them. My feet are a bit on the wide side, so I know NB is my best bet for a good fitting shoe.

These shoe are the 510 style seem to be a bit wider than the 501's and I that's fine. The tongue of the shoe seems a bit short. If I lace them up through all slots, the laces come up further than the tongue.

Other than that I'll wear 'em out as fast as I can!

I recently purchased these shoes and love them. They are comfortable and if my previous New Balance experience stays the same these shoes should last for some time. It was also a huge Plus to find these for $45!

The last shoes I purchased were not New Balance but were a name brand and they ended up w/ a hole in the top of them after owning them for two weeks. I was very disappointed and decided to return to purchasing New Balance shoes. My husband has had a pair a New Balance shoes for about 5 1/2 years, he wears them daily and has worn them on long hikes and w/ a quick wash they still look and perform great. New Balance is a great brand and I hope these shoes will stay true to the brand.

Reading reviews somehow the shoes running `long' stuck, but somehow the narrow part of this shoe didn't stick in my decision making processes. The D simply was not wide enough, so I returned the shoes. Amazon does make the return process very simple. I am glad I purchased through Amazon.

I took a chance ordering a shoe online without trying it on, but these were a home run. I love these shoes not only for comfort, but for the look too. I am a wide width and these D width shoes feel like a well worn slipper with no pinching or hurting anyway. I am a New Balance loyal customer. Thanks Amazon for having them.
