I noticed that the average reviews for the second generation SyncroFuel are lower on average than the previous gen. I think i know why. The previous syncrofuel; my all time favorite shoe of which I wore out 3 pair, ran a little small so I wore a half-size bigger. I received these today and to my dismay, they feel a full half-size smaller than the previous generation. There is noticeably less room in the toe. I think I will still end up in a pair of pearls, but now I need to try on a pair of 12's to see if they fit.

I was very please by the weight and cushioning of this shoe, but the heels wore down very quickly. I do about 3 miles a day 5 days a week and after 4 months I had to replace them because the heels had become so worn. While they last, however, they were great.

I love every pair of Pearl Izumi I own except this one. The the size feels a full two sizes to small.....completely unusable. the problem appears to be in the toe box, but it is actually so small that I am not absolutely sure that it is limited to that area. I tried to pass them to a friend with smaller feet, but he found them too small as well. The appearance and weight seem great, but are irrelevant if you can't get the show on your foot comfortably.

I have owned many pairs of this shoe, or the past version, and have been very happy with the model and company. These are very lightweight yet still provide some stability when I run. I typically run 20-25 miles per week and am 5'8 165 lbs. I would keep buying these as long as they keep the model similar to this version. Another great part about these shoes is the fact that the upper is seamless and never rides up on my ankles a big plus.

I used these for my triathlons and some running and its a great road show. Hate to see them discontinue it.
