Anyway moving on I have found that over all the shoes and boots I have worn over the years after discovering columbia I can't emagin a better shoe out there, every shoe before has been painful and either don't work right in the end or you have to wear them for months to get them "broken in" which i'm sure many of us have done at least once thus far in our lives. I have tried new balance, skechers, fila, timberwolf, redwing, wolverine and many other brands of shoes out there and as I said columbia beats them all, I tried on every single boot and shoe columbia had at gander mountain and as a warning for some reason the boots don't seem as good quality as the shoes I think that is because they are built more rugged and less flexable but for some reason the soles bugged my feet personally they had a strange arch to the outside of the foot opposite of your arch now this might not be the case for everyone but for me that was so. These shoes were the last pair I tried on and the moment I stood up in them I actually said "wow i'm in love" very comfortable and no pain, I didn't have to break them in and since day one they have been perfect, no pain at all. If anything I spent a half hour deciding what size I wanted. for me my average is anywhere from an 8 1/2 to a 10 pending on the brand of shoe. The 8 1/2 was a tad to tight on the top middle of my feet and after walking 20 minutes or so in both the 8 1/2 which is the size I have now with my old columbia I decided to go with a 9 that fit much better on my feet.
On to the outside of the shoe, these shoes are not a suede material which gets rather nasty after a lot of use and nothing you do can take out the stains and what not but instead they made it leather! They combined the amount of leather with mesh perfectly it has enough mesh to leave your feet cooler and getting a nice amount of air without the risk of getting them wet from a little bit of water, the leather is very soft and looks nice and will likely age well, when walking out to my car after a big rain storm a few days ago I stepped into a puddle that went almost past the shoe line and my feet stayed nearly fully dry which made me happy. The two things about the outside of the shoe that irks me a little is that columbia seems to make all their shoes with a nice rugged material covering the whole of the toe giving you more protection without the burden of having a heavy steel toe shoe or boot. I liked it because it made the shoe hold up better over all and saved my toes from more then one poke from something sharp thats for sure. However with these shoes they seemed to opt out of it and instead give you a rather hard leather in front which will likely work just as well but I don't know why they changed out of that as it was a good design, I don't like the rubber sole "lip" that extends out over the front of the shoe as those usually are the first things to go on that type of shoe but only time will tell, heck if you need to just super glue it right? And last the actual sole...its...new I guess I can say it looks just a bit weird and instead of big groves in the actual sole of the shoe like most shoes of this type go for they took a diffrent approach and instead the bottom has the groves jutting out instead, this worries me for over all use of the shoe i'm worried that they will wear out really quick but again only time will tell. Over all I am enjoying this pair of shoes and it was well worth the $100 I spent on them, treat your feet well and splurge on them and check out this shoe, I did and I am loving them and I can't see ever not wearing anything but columbia! Oh they look great to for casual wear in any jeans or kakies I get complements all the time on them :) I know this was long but there was no reviews because these shoes JUST came out so I hope I helped answer a few questions give them a check out in a gander mountain or some outdoors store that sells columbia, you won't regeret it :)

The construction quality is top notch. I can tell that the shoe is going to last for years. The heat insulation is also top notch. I wore this on cold winter days and it kept my feet toasty.Unfortunately, it is quite uncomfortable. The tongue of the shoe moves around a lot and drives me crazy. In general the inside of the shoe is light on cushioning and I wear thick socks to make up for the lack thereof. Also the laces are made of that annoying nylon that comes undone every 20 minutes. Frustrating!
I really wanted to like this shoe but I have to say that I not a fan.
