These sneakers arrived and I immediately noticed they were patent 'white' leather. Not for me. They were requested to be returned and an RMA was immediately issued for a return. Currently waiting for refund,I selected white on white but received blue on white, didn't bother to call because my wife said she liked them!

Cheap Salewa Women's Firetail GTX Approach Shoe
Although I haven't worn my Firetail GTX's yet I love the style and the weight and the ability to change out the souls fit. They are exactly what I was expecting and I'm looking forward to my first adventure in them. I'm not a major mountain hiker, just someone who loves to go with friends and go 8-12 miles when I can. I do love some mild hands on rock climbing as well. I read lots of reviews before I purchased these so I'm hoping they will go the distance with me.
Normally I wear size 8 in my sneakers, 7.5 in dress/casual shoes. Ordered the 8 but feel like it's a little too big.

These shoes were to be my approach shoes climbing steep rocky trails to the crag in Colorado. I previously owned a scarpa boulder x that worked well but were not as grippy as these vibram soled shoes. Also, they were not waterproof and I needed shoes that didn't get soaked while walking is snow, mud and little streams of water. I usually wear a size 7-7.5 street shoe but ordered these snug (like my climbing shoes) at 6.5 for steep approaches that require a more secure, less sloppy footing. I saw a deal on amazon and decided I should go for it since I already know my size and like the shoes anyway. Ordered it and over 2 weeks have passed and no shoes arrived in the mail--apparently the courrier delivered it to the wrong address! Amazon was nice enough to offer to replace and refund the item but I couldn't wait another 2 weeks so I just opted to refund and buy them at the local Bentgate. Good job handling it amazon, boohooo on the carrier! Mind you, this has happened to me 3 times already but amazon handles it graciously enough that I come back to give them my business. I searched for a waterproof shoe that I could wear for mostly day hiking and found the Salewa Firetail's. After much research and reading other reviews, I bought a pair of them and I LOVE them! I didn't want an "oversized bulky hiking boot" and these are sleek and have just the right amount of room with medium weight socks on. (I would say I have an 'average size foot') They seem to be true to size (I ordered the same size I wear in Asics running shoes). I love the eye catching color and I get plenty of compliments from other hikers on the trail about them! They provide great traction on hard surfaces and kept my feet dry when going through patches of slushy snow and water. I've never owned a Salewa shoe before but I would highly recommend these. After extensive online research, I chose this shoe for an upcoming Kilimanjaro climb. Tried it out first on a treadmill and found it very stiff and uncomfortable. Since I had never owned a pair of Salewa's I thought they just needed breaking in. I tried various sock thicknesses as well as adjusting the inserts with no significant improvement. After an 18 mile hike which ended with aching feet and a couple of blisters (so much for their blister free claim)I took them off and haven't had them on again. I wear a size 6 medium width. Would not recommend. These are really stiff shoes so I'm still trying to break them in 3 months later. They grip rock great, but I wish I could tighten the laces more. By the end of a 8 hour hike, my feet have a lot of wiggle room, which is pretty uncomfortable. I probabaly should have returned them asap to get a 1/2 smaller.Normally I wear size 8 in my sneakers, 7.5 in dress/casual shoes. Ordered the 8 but feel like it's a little too big.

I find it's speed lacing Great , the zippers ,i silicone especially if i am going into wet ground, or Mud. these worked very Good for me . I am a long time fan and supporter of Saucony. As a neutral runner with very slight under probation tendencies I am fortunate that I can wear almost any shoe and I have tried many of the Saucony lines: Guide series, Ride series (favorite), Jazz series (2nd favorite), Triumph series, Echelon series and the Xodus Trail Running series. All fantastic and exceptional value.
That being said there are occasions (like ALL major Co.'s) where quality control is an issue. If you ever come across a review where someone complains about stitching, weak/poor glue etc. I hope you will use logic and common sense and remember that the majority of our country's favorite products are made overseas and the factory workers could really care less about us (the consumer). Trueinspections and standards can increase, but then so does the manufacturing/labor costs and that ultimately means our purchase price as well.
Here on Amazon we are lucky to get incredible deals on older items, so I hope that everyone will keep these things in mind before going off half-cocked and complaining about single-instance issues.
I gave the Guide 4 TR (trail) shoe 3 stars only because it seems to be lost/confused in terms of what kind of shoe it should be. Since it is a heavier shoe (as most trail shoes are) I am not complaining about the weight, or anything trivial. The upper is nicely constructed and quite attractive. For some reason only the heel is reinforced for durability so other than having closed mesh and slight water resistance, this shoe looks as though it was designed for light trail running. Howeveryou can perform light trail running with every good running shoe already. The sole has a good pattern, but not aggressive enough for heavy trails. No rock plates either, but still stiff nevertheless, but then it's curious that the shoe is so shallow inside with no room for thick socks, or any orthotic thicker than the stock one, which makes the feel very uncomfortable even after a break-in period. The ankles sit high and there is slight heel slippage at a modest pace and a lot of slippage on steep inclines. Since the sole is soft rubber, it wears very quickly on pavement unless you gave smooth concrete streets and sidewalks where you live.
Therefore it's not a road shoe, nor a trail shoe, and as a hybrid it's somewhat of a failure. It does look nice, but that's about it. I wouldn't recommend it, but it's an older model anyway.

I've been buying Saucony running shoes for years now. They're they best as far as I'm concerned. The only caveat is that you usually have to buy them one to 1.5 sizes larger than your normal size. The shoes always fit like a glove and don't require a break-in period. Unlike other athletic shoes, I've never had a pair of Sauconys give me a blister. Cheap Vibram Lady Fivefingers Bikila Running Shoes
I bought these because I thought I was ready to transition to barefoot running. I had been running for 2 years and really working on my mid-foot strike with my Newtons and was ready to go minimal with my footwear. But I was not able to make the transition. I even started out slowly like they suggest, but I guess my body likes a bit of cushioning on the feet. But these shoes are really, really comfortable and since I'm a tenderfoot, I now wear these whenever I would like to go barefoot and I love them. I walk in them, walk the dogs in them, grocery shop, and even wore them when we went to the river. They have a nice sole, so my feet feel protected, but otherwise, it's just like being barefoot. Sure they look a bit odd, but are very comfortable and if you are looking for protection for your barefoot experience, whether running or walking, they are a good buy.

I walk in these every morning on paved and dirt trails and they are great. I almost always get knee pain while walking in any other shoe (my hips/back are out of alignment). But with these Vibrams I have no pain anywhere and can just keep walking. It feels like it redistributes your weight more evenly throughout the foot, giving a more stable stride. There's a lot of hype about these being great for running, but they are a blessing for walking too. I usually wear a 7-7.5 size shoe, and I wear a 37 in these Bikilas. I finally purchased a pair of Bikila shoes and I am not disappointed. They were difficult to put on initially, but that has gotten easier with use. They feel wonderful on my feet and are great for both general fitness and running. I would have liked to have had a better fitting shoe. The size it states is not what you actually wear, so if you order make sure to order at least 1/2 size bigger than what it tells you. Otherwise I love the shoes, took some getting used to but once I did it was great

The shoes were not the durable shoes I expected. and I doubt they would last very long. The toe box runs small for a 4 E and my foot hung slightly over the sole. I bought these for my husband for our trip to Disney World. I knew he would be on his feet all day for 5 days and I wanted to find something that would also give him a lot of cushion under his heel. This is a very pretty shoe and I so wanted it to work. This is a pretty shade of pink and a very nice Nubuck finish with a comfortable low heel. I have narrow feet and am a true 7.5, but these would really need to be an 8 to work comfortably for me. The cross strap has pretty detail, but anyone with a larger foot than me will struggle to get it on as it's a snug fit. After wearing these shoe around town to break them in the stitching behind the heel is starting to tear on the interior on both shoes. I have only ran once outside and on the treadmill with no trail running yet. The goretex is great very waterproof. These are comfortable shoes and the most expensive shoes for trail running there is, so better wear quality construction should be seen.

I am a dedicated power/interval walker. I walk 7 miles 5 6 days a week in 90 -100 minutes. I walk on an old rail trail and I'm challenging myself to better my time as I continue my weight loss (40 lbs to go). The search for walking shoes that fit comfortably, support my ankles and corrects my somewhat pronated foot can be very frustrating. I found these and couldn't wait to try them out. LOVE THEM! They are very comfortable and breathable. Ankle support is excellent and the design of the shoe enhances my walk performance. My pronated foot is "singing" its thanks. My only caveat, BUY A HALF SIZE BIGGER. The price on Amazon was a steal once I found out what the regular store price was. I totally recommend!
