I walk 5 miles a day every day and need a good shoe. They are more comfortable right out of the box, they provide excellent support, and hold up under heavy use. I'm a nurse in a busy facility. I rarely have the luxury of sitting down during my shift. I am always walking and standing. I really don't have foot problems but saw this ad and thought I'd buy a pair to see how they feel. First the sizing is a bit odd. I wear a standard size 8 medium width, and I guess I was too quick to order the 8Mwhich turns out to be US size 8D. These shoes are a bit snug around the toe area, and my feet are not wide at all. The heel also comes up a bit high on my ankle, which is a bit uncomfortable.

They are sturdy shoes and I expect them to last a long, long time. Compared to the nurse shoes I usually wear, these shoes are pretty hard. I'm not 100% sure I'd order them again.

These do promote a more stable stride especially on slick surfaces. I only buy Propet for walking shoes. They are quality made. My only disappointment was the sizing. They run wider in the heel and toe than other shoes I've purchased from them in the same size.

Finally!!! Ecco has redeemed themselves from the last 4-5 crappy pair of BIOM shoes I have bought. These shoes are solid, light, breathable, very well constructed, no frayed threads, and comfortable!!! I'm impressed and very pleased. They have excellent lateral stability and will cross over to other "sports" besides running well they won't compete with cleats, but for cross training application they are great! Keeping. Will wear for a month. If holding up well I will order more, as I just went through a handful of sub par Ecco BIOM shoes and do not want to repeat that experience.

Buy Rockport Women's World Tour Classic Walking Shoe

I bought a pair of these shoes back in the fall of 2004 for work. I was on my feet for 6 hours at a time and these shoes remained comfortable and allowed me to move (hunkering down to reach things on lower shelves) while looking professional.

I have since worn them to job interviews and to my various other jobs.

Seven years later I still have the same paira little scuffed up at the toes but they are now my walking shoes for walks in our woods. As you can see from the pictures they don't have traction enough to use on trails with any sort of incline (Though I've done that to) but they provide enough protection and support for a little rougher wear.

I am very happy with my pair for comfort, durability, and value. I was looking for a replacement for them and I am thrilled to see my old walking shoes are still being made and even better: cheaper then when I first purchased them!

Since a recommendation after back surgery 23 years ago I have worn this same shoe ---in every variation in which it is produced. I hate recommendations written by someone who has had the product for just days, weeks or even a few months. Most items we need time to evaluate. This shoe I KNOW!! It may not be the most stylish but it has comfort, great construction and the fact that it holds up so very well in its favor. It is a great walking shoe. If you spend most of the day on your feet than this is the shoe for you.

I walked all over Europe in the women's version of the World Tour Classic, as did my husband in the men's version. When I tried to replace them, however, I found that Rockport had discontinued the women's line. You can still find a few left-overs on sale, including on this site, but my size isn't one of them. When I started to compare my husband's shoe with mine, they looked identical except for size, so I called a reputable shoe store, and they told me there is indeed no difference at all.

After spending a few moments on-line converting my woman's shoe size into a Euro size and then back into a men's size, I ordered the men's version of this shoe from this site. I am very pleased with the result. The only difference between this shoe and my old women's version is the label in the tongue that says "men". They look the same. They measure the same. They weigh the same. And best of all, they fit and feel identical to the women's shoe.

I'd give this shoe ten stars if I could, but shame on Rockport for giving up on women.

Cheap Saucony Men's Showdown Track Shoe

I am a distance runner and have been adding sprint intervals to my workouts for improving leg turnover. I have been using my Saucony Kinvara's and discovered the accelerated wear on the outsoles. So this lead me to buying the Saucony Showdown's. As a first time spike shoe user, I am totally impressed. Excellent traction from the agressive 10 spikes, great traction even without them on the track. The full flexion plate is flexible and aids in forward propulsion for the next leg turnover. The fit, comfort, and quality is top notch. I normally wear 10.5 2E's for trainers other than my Kinvara's. But like the Kinvara's, I had to go a 1/2 size up on the Showdown, which fit perfectly. My feet don't feel compressed at all and the lace/zipper setup is an awesome design for a good midfoot wrap and aerodynamic feel. Did I forget to say it's super light?

Buy these choice If you are looking for really outdoors AND cold weather alternatives. The insulation and water proofing look good and the feet keep really warm (too much for me).

Buy New Balance Women's WR10v2 Minimus Running Shoe

This is my second pair of the NB WR10v2 running shoe. I also have the purple color. I have been running in minimalist shoes for 10 months. This is my 4th pair of NB Minimus (I also use the NB hi-res for runs under 7 miles). I run 30-40 miles a week, and wanted to start rotating this pair with my other. I am a size 9, but always go up a half size in running shoes. These have a wide toe bed, yet are still tight enough throughout to feel comfortable. Not so loose they rub, but not too tight. No blisters in either pair, ever! I use these for my longer runs (over 8 miles) as they have a bit more cushioning in the heel than my other minimalist styles (but remember, this is not near as much as traditional running shoes). They are pretty light, I like the white for hotter days. If you are new to minimalist running, you need to ease in, by using them for walking around, then eventually short runs of 2-3 miles, before taking them out on longer runs and I would suggest going to your local running store to have an assessment before ordering. I bought my first pair at my local store, but they only had one color. They suggested I order from online :)

I have to admit, I was skeptical getting these. I had tried them on in a store so I new exactly what size I wanted. The store did not have this color and as it turned out, the price was better here on Amazon. I got these for both power-walking and casual wear. I LOVE THEM! Really, these are so much more comfortable than I ever imagined. I feel so good walking in them. I do suggest if you are not used to going barefoot, you work into using them for extended miles or time as your feet will need to get used to them. I promise for casual wear they are instantly comfy and stylish!

These shoes are very comfortable... until it rains. For some reason that I haven't figured out yet, there are two slits on the bottom of each shoe between the tread (if you look closely at the sole picture, you will see them. There's one near the ball of the foot and one near the heel).

Maybe the slits are there for more flexibility in the shoe? So your foot can breathe better? I don't know. And it doesn't bother me, until it rains or the ground is wet. The water gets through the sole of the shoe, saturates the insole and your socks and foot.

VERY annoying. Also very disappointing since these are otherwise the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn.

We buy him a pair once a year and they last for a full year before there is noticeable breakdown. We bought this for our six year old daughter as it is a color that is allowed at her school. It seems to be very difficult to find navy blue tennis shoe that meets the criteria & that my daughter liked. She has been wearing this shoe for about week & just loves it--it fits and is comfortable. We bought it 1/2 size smaller than normal--a 1.5 instead of a 2 that she usually wears, and that seems to be perfect. It was a bit high priced, but if it continues to stand up & the odor guard continues to work as well as it has so far, it is worth the price. My daughter is very picky about comfort when it comes to her clothes and shoes. When she was 5, I took her to a local kids' shoe store and she tried on every pair of athletic shoes they had in her size. She liked these the best. That was several years ago and we have been buying them here ever since. She wears them every day, and I have a very hard time getting her to wear anything else (sandals, dress-up shoes) even for special occasions. These are comfortable, lightweight, solid shoes. I hope they are always available! I feel good letting her wear them because they are high quality.

This is our third pair of this sneaker for good reason -my daughter wears each pair until she outgrows it, and the shoes are still going strong even when that happens.

Important things to note:

1) These shoes run large, but not as much as some Tsukihoshi styles. My daughter currently wears a 13.5-1 youth size, and a size 1 of this shoe offers a TON of growing room. In fact, she can still squeeze into the size 12.5 of this shoe but will wear a 1 comfortably, especially with thicker socks.

2) These shoes are machine washable! They do well through many, many washes. I leave them on top of the washer to dry for a day or two after each wash, and they look great after a wash. No funky crunchiness or size changing like some kids' "washable" shoes.

3) If your kids like to wear shoes without socks, as mine always seem to prefer, these will develop that certain stinky foot odor. That's why machine washability is so key! Fortunately, washing helps get the odor out very well.
